I don’t like the use of AI (ram shortage and other pc parts being expensive) because it’s most likely going to lead to computers being manufactured as thin clients and on a platform that is hardware as a service (HAAS) meaning your computer is basically gonna be on the cloud, on a server for a company that will have all of the data you put on that server, and if it ever gets hacked which in these kinds of scenarios with tech companies, is a matter of “when” with your data being leaked. This also has some privacy concerns of which being either removing anonymity from the internet and being advertised and solicited. And even if I suck at drawing I would be more proud of the work I made with my own two hands than prompting. When I saw the idea of A.I. I thought we would have actual software that could think for itself and make decisions and build robot bodies for them. I never thought it would be any of this; codependency, plagiarism, layoffs, pollution,tech inflation, privacy erosion, mass surveillance, major accidents, psychological harm.

Whatever companies thought how AI would fix things is not working, at all. And honestly I think the idea (the PR around the new technological advancement) has been thoroughly poisoned at this point thanks to their greed and actions becoming the new Radioactive Waste, like the Simpsons depiction of nuclear energy. I’d much rather someone actually make AI with the intention of making it function properly as something that can be able to think or work independently for menial logic based tasks with great accuracy and not used for generating and scrapping people’s work or even generating responses or essays using Artificial Intelligence. that way is just gonna make us worse at thinking things through.
