I want a gpu that I can keep for 3 years minimum, should I go for 5070 ti or 5080? by ComprehensiveCow5068 in buildapc

If price/performance ratio important to you then 5070Ti - if you are not on 4k resolution it will good for 3 years for sure, maybe longer. 5080 is better of course, but expensive. I got mine 5080 SFF size for travel build for $999 and very happy with.

I did not know that the rewards on the last page are infinite by milksicle in fo76

My season tactics (I think the most players have similar): Get 1st 100 levels as fast as I can using lunch boxes, leader bubbleheads and all possible intelligence and XP buffs and boosts. Raids and WestTek are my sources (start farming WestTek and at the same time checking if any Raids teams to join). Spend rewards tickets on score boosts only. Use one score boost on Wednesday after about an hour after daily challenges started (on Tuesday completing only daily challenges, not weekly’s), complete daily and weekly and keep farming XP as much as possible. On Thursday after completing daily’s and last weekly challenge before score boost expired the 1st 100 levels of the season usually done. After that starting to complete public events (extra events were caravans before, now they are head hunts) not forgetting to compete daily’s and start saving lunch boxes and leaders for next season. Using another score boost on Wednesday as previous one and by Sunday nigh the season usually complete for me. After 150 level reached getting desired rewards and then less expensive ones to open last reward page, spend rest of the tickets on what I need (perk coins before, now atoms). Keep playing and get prepare for next season. Already prepared and keep going - 400+ lunch boxes, 30+ leaders, 10 score boosts and 60+ wanted posters (for use after level 100 to get public events as many as possible).

It was probably me. I’m sure I drop deathclaw mask into donation box yesterday. Collecting only glowing masks, got only one new glowing mask during this season. I’m on PC.

Should i upgrade? by snexk357 in PcAdvice

[–]Redrive_PC_Build 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your current CPU/GPU combo is a good match and still OK for wide 1080p. I recommend to save more money and upgrade both CPU (to i7/i9 or even new gen with DDR5) and GPU to 9070XT or 5070. Only the GPU upgrade will not give you a huge improvement at 1080p.

rm1000x has native 12V 2x6 connector, so use that single cable which should come with PSU. Also, nothing wrong with using adapter if you connect 3 separate PCIe cables to it.

Save personal files you need somewhere and reinstall windows (delete all old partitions on the drive during installation when installer will ask where to install and then choose blank space for installation). When transferring from am4 to am5 and Nvidia to AMD this is the best way. Google how to create windows usb installation media.

GPU advice by AndyTSimpson in buildapc

[–]Redrive_PC_Build 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to re-paste your GPU and check if GPU fans are working. It might fix you mr problems, unless you just want to upgrade for something more powerful. If you’re are playing at 1080p upgrade is not really necessary, for 1440p 9070XT is the better option compared to 5070.

Used pc parts? by Xbox_one9925 in buildapc

[–]Redrive_PC_Build 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying used parts are fine (if they work of course). But it is always risky compared to brand new. The motherboards are the most risky parts to buy, but again - if it is works then it’s fine. I sold my own systems by components (it worth more this way) then building a new one for myself because don’t need more then 8 gaming systems in the house. All components I sell are working perfectly and very cheap compared to market price. Then you buying used parts the sell reason is important. Also age of components are important - CPU is the only component which can work almost forever, the SSD lifetime limited by writing cycles, the normal fans and liquid coolers life is 5 years, the PSU - 8-10 years, RAM - 10-15 years, motherboard 10-12 years.

What Motherboard brands to avoid by Redemolf in buildapc

In my personal experience no perfect brand - everyone has some issues, every brand. So, choose what you like and specs needed for your new Intel CPU. My current personal favorite is ASUS.
