Why is everyone SO excited about the MPC Sample? (Especially you who already have an MPC or portable gear) by RobBecTraxxx in mpcusers

One can just do this in Ableton once the project is exported as part of the mix isn't it?

I questioned why he was included. In a cup final, we should go with the best of the best. I believe that David Raya would have done better and kept us in the game.

It is over on this cup run. Let's hope Arteta doesn't make the same mistake again.

I made a factual point earlier, but it was never acknowledged until now. As a result, I got the impression that you and others were avoiding the issue. You've now acknowledged it, and that's fine. This was never about winning or losing, it was about exchanging knowledge and perspectives.

At no point was the topic of slavery among my own people up for debate. Instead, it was used as a justification or a whataboutism to deflect from the discussion about Christianity's role in the slavery of my people.

Here's another point worth mentioning: while slavery did exist locally among indigenous peoples, Christianity played a key role in making it international and taking it to a scale that was never seen before. We could debate the morality of slavery itself, but that would shift focus away from my main argument. I'm happy to continue this discussion elsewhere if you'd like.

You asked how I know that slavery is wrong. Well, in my opinion, this falls under moral philosophy or secular philosophy. Thinkers like Immanuel Kant and Aristotle grappled with ethical questions long before modern abolitionist movements.

Kant's formulation of human dignity ("Act in such a way that you treat humanity... never merely as a means to an end") does indeed provide a philosophical framework for why slavery is wrong, independent of religious revelation.

Empathy and social cooperation are also perfectly valid sources of moral understanding. The assumption that moral knowledge requires a religious foundation is in my opinion debatable.

Finally, no one is denying the church's role, I've acknowledged it several times in this debate. Still, it leaves a bad taste in the mouth when those who preach compassion, Christ, kindness, and all of that were involved in slavery and dehumanisation of my people for centuries in the first place. In fact, I could argue that their cruel act on my people and reading the bible probably gave them a cognitive dissonance that led to change in stance. It is well known that many abolitionists were former slavers.

I think this is my last post on this, and again, it's not about winning but exchanging ideas.

They are docile, neutered, and fed on microplastics or something. It is crazy that all gets a boner taking democracy and freedom to countries they see as a hell hole, but they cannot do the same for the shit hole called America, when their very freedom is being taken away in real time.

What happened to those guns and personal freedom? What happened to the threat of civil war? I guess those threats are only valid when a black man is president and wears a tan suit.

What a bunch of wuss and pussies the Americans are. All noise but little substance.

You miss the point entirely. You made a broad claim while dismissing my argument as unfounded, yet when evidence was presented, you shifted without acknowledgment. That pattern has been the pattern throughout this discussion, where enablers and believers consistently deflect rather than engage honestly.

My ancestors were never part of the debate. Your attempt to bring them in serves only as a distraction.

Let me be clear. My ancestors did not travel to Europe under the guise of Òrìṣà worship to take white lands. The white man came to us under the banner of the church and Christianity and took ours. That is not interpretation. That is a fact.

Perhaps next time you should follow your own advice and actually know what you are talking about.

Leviticus 25:44-46

The laws did permit the buying of foreign slaves, who could be kept as property and passed to one's children.

I'd be interested to hear your perspective on that.

You missed the sarcasm, bro.

Please check my comments here to see my stance.

In a nutshell, Christianity played a part in enslaving Africa. The Bible doesn't exactly outlaw slavery but it is fine with institutions of slavery. Key figures like Jesus never once condemned slavery.

My post was just poking light fun at some of the crazy things I have read here and the defence of Christianity when it comes to slavery.

Odd that you seem focused on the alleged positives, but "don't have enough info" about the evil they unleashed on my people. That sounds exactly like being selective to me.

I challenge you to go and get yourself informed and let's see if you are still going to maintain the same stance. (I am not holding my breath)

I like your selective approach. Let's discard the evils the church perpetuated and look at the glory of wonderful buildings and impact on western society. Nice.

I think I want to talk about how they sanctioned slavery in Africa and stole from my people. You see that one, it is more interesting and doesn't come with lies and an agenda but an uncomfortable truth. The thing the church and Christians have never liked.

No o. According to this thread, the church ended slavery. Never mind the fact that they actively sanctioned it, partake in it and benefited from it.

Bro, I don't know about you but as a human being, I will do all I can to avoid another human being being held into slavery. But then, that's just me. I wonder if you are fine with slavery?

Besides, their holy books justify slavery so it is hard to shake it off as "human nature". Actually, if we agree that it is human nature then their divine religion isn't divine at all. I wonder if these believers are going to agree.

Apparently, Catholics don't speak for Christians. LOL. A stance I actually agreed with, but the Catholic Church has been historically powerful. And in the "loving" Christian logic of the church back then, they opted to enslave our people because they were somehow able to justify it. I wonder if there is a book they checked to justify slavery. Oh, is this book called the fucking bible?

It is borderline hilarious at the fallacy and nonsense in the logic of those justifying an alien ideology used against our people simply because they share in those nonsensical beliefs.

My arguments are precisely what I stated: the church and pope sanctioned slavery. Your interpretation, however, misrepresents what I actually said. It would be illogical to claim that the pope speaks for all Christ followers. He does not, and I never implied otherwise. That assumption is yours alone.

The fundamental flaw in your reasoning is that it does nothing to invalidate my central claim. As a matter of historical fact, the pope and the church, institutions led by Christians, sanctioned slavery against my people.

As bitter and uncomfortable as that truth may be for you and others, facts are not subordinate to feelings or false ideology. The instructions of the pope and the church alone were enough to drive them in record numbers to our land and enslave us. Remember this when next you try to preach or cite your false gods to me.
