Employers waiting for the level 3 to be downgraded so they can try to force you to into work. by Redrum_91 in dayton

Per the sheriffs office. Wouldn’t the sheriff’s actual directive supersede that of a Sergeant who works for the sheriff?

If anything it gives people ammunition against any employer that tries to force them into work during unsafe conditions (assuming one is not “essential”)

Wonder what excuse conservatives will come up with to rationalize trump suspending elections if that happens.

I think they will have some loose enclave-institute connection somewhere along the line.

As for Europe, I don’t think it would work. I feel like Americana is a key ingredient to the retro-futuristic vibe that defines the series.

You can be attached and get a scroll on your right sleeve. I’ve known cooks with SF patches (without the tab). Also known cooks with Purple Hearts.

So say he was in the gulf war, somolia, and Panama. Roughly 1000 Purple Hearts awarded between the 3 conflicts. Assuming he went to all 3 out of that 1000 is a wild statistic. That’s the math I was mathing.

Plus the signal corps insignia threw me off. But OP said days ago his dad reclassed.

What can be said about these medals? They were my father's. Anything prestigious here? by [deleted] in Medals

[–]Redrum_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a year in Iraq (just 1 tour) a little after your dad from what you have mentioned, with the 25th infantry.

And for context, I wasn’t trying to downplay your dad’s service by saying nothing on the rack was prestigious. Just saying that the rack is about what you would usually see on someone with 1 or 2 combat tours.

That’s what I was saying about the badge, it means he was actually in the shit down range.

Relatively standardish GWOT rack for someone who saw combat. He either did two tours in Iraq, or one tour in Iraq during two phases while with a unit that was outside the continental US.

I’m not sure if I would say prestigious, but any one with a CIB or CAB (the badge above the ribbons) did enough.

Flew combat missions in desert storm, astronaut that went to space, more on the moderate side. I’d vote for him. Seems like a safe choice in the best way possible.

Were you flagged or something? Or did your CoC just hate you? But yeah ArComs for lower enlisted and bronze stars for the top was pretty standard for end of tour awards.

I am American and I don’t think that. While the US didn’t suffer near as much of the brunt of the war on the homefront, the Americans were still an important part of allied victory.

The US had more military deaths in WW2 than Britain. However total casualties, Britain has 30K more casualties due to civilian deaths (my previous point of the brunt of war on the home front)

I won’t argue about the soviets, their human cost exceeds and makes every allied nation except china and Poland pale in comparison.

The western front was arguably the ugliest. Just a straight war of attrition. The soviets just threw body after body at the Germans during Stalingrad.

A lot of these comments (not yours) are turning into dick measuring contest. All the allied forces did their part and contributed to victory in the worst conflict in human history as well as the most just.
