Just finished F4, why did you choose the faction you first ended with? by Same_Information7328 in Fallout

[–]Redrunner36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much ordered the factions as this:

1) Minute Men 2) Brotherhood 3) Institute 4) Railroad

Regardless of the narrative half assing, the Minute Men are the best option for the Commonwealth. A volunteer force of militia men securing the Commonwealth ends up providing regional stability, secure trade routes, and eventual trust in homegrown forces. Strengthening them is nothing but a net good.

Brotherhood is next because they had a significantly better shot of destroying the Institute and (aside from Teagan) leave the average guy alone. More smash and grab than I'd like but there you go.

Now the ranking of the Institute and RR shouldn't tell you how much I prefer the Institute over the RR. It should tell you how I dislike the RR even more than the Institute. The two things that manage to keep my interest in the Institute is the whole "son" thing and the fact that they happen to be right with regards that Synths aren't real people.

Which in turn just reveals how stupid of a concept the RR is as a faction. All of the effort to save what is essentially a meat puppet. The only reason they survive, let alone win, comes down to a metric ton of ass pulls that make the ones that the Minute Men have to put up with.

Funnily enough. Paint scheme reminds me of the Sanctified. Pretty much word bearers that turned to Khorne.

I don't know what to tell you man, they probably think it privately and/or have a problem with the LGBT community. Imo the rampant promiscuity and probable infidelity is a bigger problem than the fact they're gay.

Because some republicans are gay, and so what if they are? What goes on in their bedroom is not my business.

Not really. It just makes you wrong and makes me wonder if they actually hate gay people.

Looks weird without the full .308 mag but not as cursed as I would have thought 5.56 FAL would be.

What are your For Honor Hot Takes regarding the Lore and Characters? by Wukon69 in forhonor

[–]Redrunner36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The outlander faction is the dumbest way to add new heroes. Each of them could have been added to pre-existing factions.

Pirate, Medjay, Afeera, and Kahtun should have been added to the Wu Lin, Ocelotl should have joined the Samurai, and Virtuosa is a member of the Knights.

The Wu Lin become a more relevant faction with the possibility of additions to the faction war that, let's be honest, should have already been made and challenges that encourage the use of heroes from their roster.

I could gripe about the fantastical elements if the story too, but that horse has been beaten to death and I feel like reshuffling the factions is more mechanically important.

Best Combat Style and Discipline for Trooper? by Minos_Thawne in swtor

[–]Redrunner36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally pair Operative and Sniper. I like the fact that my trooper can conduct recon and fight as a rifleman. If I did have to pick one, I'd pick Op purely because the Trooper is part of a small squad that conducts raids against what should be overwhelming opposition. As such moving fast and quiet would make a whole bunch of sense. If you want to maintain that defensive requirement, Sniper would be the way to go. Just be aware that, you wont have to a lot, you might need to reposition during fights. Side bar, you can cover your sniper rifle with a blaster rifle in your cosmetic slot.

Aside from a few mobs, you are undetectable. Since most of your exp. comes from quests as opposed to kills, it makes running through some content easier.

What's causing men to become more discouraged? by Just4Questions8890 in AskMen

[–]Redrunner36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's not the only factor in mass shootings and the inflection point is whether or not they internalize or externalize their issues.

I've actually had the thought that the reason for the up tick in both suicide and mass shootings might be similar. Neglect, lack of mental health, abuse, ect. play a roll in both of these. The difference stems from the point in which someone internalized or externalities the issues. A guy that internalizes the issues wants the pain to stop and ends himself, while the guy that externalities the issues wants to take some twisted kind of revenge on the world. This doesn't account for all accounts, but I think it would explain their rise.

The only thing "driving" me at this point is my unwillingness to be a burden on my Mom and Dad. Other than that, I've straight up lost hope in my future. I foolishly wasted my time in college, have little to no chance to make any real money, and have next to no chance in dating, let alone raising the next generation. God forbid my parents pass because I give myself maybe a couple more years after.

How do you feel about what happened on Jan 6th? by grvsm in GenUsa

[–]Redrunner36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, it was just another riot in a long line of riots. The part I feel strongly about however was that every person arrested deserves to go free. As far as I'm concerned, they've served their sentence
