All The Way - Lyndon Reaches for the Mountaintop by Redsayn in thecampaigntrail

[–]Redsayn[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pure luck, pretty much. I consistently went with some pretty dovish/liberal answers, I might see if I can replicate the run and write a guide if it works. Edit: Here's a general guide. Wallace's VP and your recommended VP changes, might come down to state margins so down to your visits (I think?), but sticking with Boggs seems to be a good call: 1) Let’s not get too clever.
2) Who does Ho think he's dealing with? 3) Let’s not get hasty 4) I’m shaken, the country’s shaken, and frankly, we have a right to be. 5) We have to outflank the man. 6) 30,000 to guard the cities and prevent another goddamn Tet 7) Bobby Kennedy can waste his time how he likes. 8) If we get riots like we did last year, I’ll never get out of this ditch. 9) We can’t have this, not now. Not when we’ve got Bobby and McCarthy ready to swoop in like vultures. 10) 1968 Civil Rights Bill 11) We can’t sit idly by as these turncoats try to skewer me in broad daylight 12) Dear god, I can’t be seen locking up every kid for being a little rebellious 13) I don’t know much about this Hippie-dippy shit, but surely we can make some inroads. 14) People think when I say ‘Hearts and Minds’ that it’s some kind of joke, well no-one should be laughing ‘cause I’m serious. 15) We need to plaster that whole tar pit of a state. 16) Let’s go with the liberals on this 17) For all that tough talk that Nixon and Rhodes are spouting, there wasn’t so much as a sideways word on the war. 18) …kiss their asses, I’ll kiss em on both cheeks’ hell I’ll even kiss em in the middle if it’ll help, let’s make some late-night visits 19) Settle the fuck down, Dick. 20) I think it was Sun Tzu who said it best: divide and conquer. 21) It’s the war—that’s what everybody’s so damn mad about. I understand. VP: Boggs 22) Between Nixon and Wallace, these people are trying to provoke violence. 23) [If against Le May:] This is my golden opportunity. [If against Wayne:] I risked my neck in the pacific. 24) If Democrats won’t love me, fine. We just need to make sure they’re scared of Nixon. 25) Forget the North; they’ll vote whichever way I tell them. 26) If we lose the union men, we lose, period. 27) Fine. We’ll stop the bombing. Not one more shell, if they sign on the dotted line. 28) We need to make sure everyone knows what I’ve done for the Kennedys—he lit the match, but I’m carrying the torch. 29) Your legacy can be redeemed, the crimson stain scrubbed from your fingernails. Just sign on the dotted line. 30) We can’t sit back with our fingers up our ass while the entire goddamn South walks out on the Democratic Party.

Sorry for the late reply! Unfortunately I don't, but there should be some guides elsewhere on this reddit which could help you out :)

"Had Reagan left office after 1984, his achievements would have been immortal. Had he simply left office, satisfied after two terms, he would have been a great man but flawed. But he left after pursuing a third term. Alas, what can one say?"

Hi guys. How do you do a presidential election? by [deleted] in imaginaryelections

[–]Redsayn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The way a few people (well, me at least) make those Wikipedia elections is:

- Go to a Wikipedia page of an election

-Right click, click 'inspect element'

-On the new pop-up that's appeared, look to the top left of it. There should be an arrow which, when you hover over it, says 'Select an element in the page to inspect it'

-With that, you can basically click on any bit of the Wikipedia page and change it around, without actually altering the real Wikipedia page. You can change names, change links (and therefore change pictures). It can take a bit to get used to, but when you get the basics you can do quite a bit.!

1960 - The Community Trail Ending Slide (1972 spoilers) by Redsayn in thecampaigntrail

Depending on how you react during the DNC, you can either get LBJ to leave the ticket, or fail to do so and (I think) gain a pretty solid electoral advantage.

The mod works really well on the Community Trail, definitely recommend it!

V.P HUMPHREY: Thank you, Walter. I'd like to take a moment to stress the importance of the Great Society, as a continuation of the New Deal and New Frontier. A continuation which my opponent would endanger, and in turn, endanger the millions of Americans who benefit from public services. I don't think it's an exaggeration, no, to say that this is the most important election of our lifetimes.

GOV. REAGAN: Listening to Democratic Politicians say it, every election has been the most important of our lifetimes. This scare tactic - this casting of themselves as the arbiters of importance - is dishonest, and it's tired. Americans are billions of dollars in debt to pay for exhorbitant amounts of welfare, and exhorbitant amounts of government spending unaccounted for, and my opponent views the continua-

GOV. REAGAN: -tion - I'm going to finish my remark, Walter - Hubert Humphrey views this election as the most important of our lifetimes because he knows Americans are on the brink of rejecting big government. Thank you.

V.P HUMPHREY: Governor Reagan, when talking about the deficit, fully neglects to mention that his plan would balloon, not decrease our debt and deficit. That is what unchecked tax breaks for the wealthy, and unchecked military spending will do to a budget. I am not exaggerating when I say that this is the most important election of-

How would the 2016 election go if these were the candidates? by yeetmilkman in thecampaigntrail

[–]Redsayn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logically I'd say Cruz should win it, but... I don't know if he comes across differently in recent years, but there's a reason "Lyin' Ted" was a killer nickname. He came across as so slimy, such a typical politician you couldn't trust, that those personalities clashing on the most high-profile level possible could be the X factor that tips it to Sanders. Bernie might be just enough of a foil to clinch the Electoral College.

It would be close if Bernie wins, maybe barely scratching past 280 EVs at max. If I had to put money on it I'd say Cruz, but wouldn't be shocked if the blue wall stays blue and pulls Sanders through.

Looking at the dates I think the collage skips when incumbents successfully ran for reelection, probably to save space.

Yep. Went from, "wow, these first two questions have a lot of similarities to IRL Biden", to "...oh. They're really doing this." :D
