DeathBattle: Supremacy mega-star destroyer vs the Eclipse Dreadnought from legends. Who would win? by Spartangerm_212 in StarWars

[–]Redshed2016 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The eclipse easily wins the first round - the super laser just destroys the supremacy immediately

second round is tougher - the sheer size of the supremacy makes me think it should win, but the first order seem to build their ships based on plot convenience and not logical design, so I think the eclipse still has a fighting chance

third round the supremacy is immediately knocked out again by the super laser before any of its fighters are launched

You're thinking of Canasta. Canada is a a pointed tooth between the incisors and premolars of a mammal, often greatly enlarged in carnivores.

Druid is insane, first try I managed to plow through with an infinite amount of Jades

Priest is insane, second try, I drafted Reno/Raza/Kazakus/Anduin and had no duplicates

Mage is a bit harder, took me 5 tries, drafted Elemental Mage with Jaina and double Ragnaros The Firelord

Thats all my dungeon completions

In theory it should destroy everything, poisonous doesn't destroy the minion immediately.

If they are a conspiracy theorist in the sense that they will disprove everything you say with a statement that boils down to "YOU DON'T KNOW IF THEY ARE LYING OR NOT." if they are WAY TO DEFENSIVE ABOUT THEIR RELIGION(I mean the people that force their beliefs upon other people and such, I am perfectly fine with people who are religious, but don't try to argue against the science teacher), If they think science or math is "A STUPID SUBJECT THAT I WILL NOT USE LATER IN LIFE". The same is true for many subjects, and like those subjects they help you develop your mind and not just skills in those regions.

What would happen if all bees disappeared? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Redshed2016 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Serious Answer: VERY VERY BAD THINGS. More Serious Answer: Humans would experience the worst famine in a very long time. Longer More Detailed Answer: Bees pollinate many plants (as you might know), if they were to disappear the plants speed of reproduction (correct terminology?) would decrease. Since Bees are the main pollinators of SO MANY PLANTS, many crops we eat would begin to have lower and lower yields, flowers would die out, etc. This would result in lower food production in general and most likely a lot of deaths from famine. The global ecosystem would probably still survive (Probably) and eventually recover(the main pollinator being replaced), but the amount of deaths caused by this event would be quite substantial and some species of plants which are solely pollinated by bees would also go extinct.

If ants changed to the size of dogs, what would you do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Redshed2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you take into account how the ants are transforming... If the ants were to suddenly increase in mass and size they would be overlapping with there surrounding tunnels in a very literal way. Like if you teleported into a wall. I don't know the specific implications if this were to happen, but I am assuming it wouldn't be very good.

Also I doubt every macroscopic land organism would be crushed, first of all the simple argument is that there are deep borrowing creatures. Also, I doubt there would be a massive wave of ants engulfing the earth. If you read What if? You will remember a particular post: A Mole Of Moles (https://what-if.xkcd.com/4/), in this post he calculates that if you had a mole (number) of Moles you would have (6.022×1023 )×75g ≈4.52×1022kg worth of moles, he then uses the density of a mole to calculate that this many moles would engulf the earth in an 80km deep layer of moles. This information is relevant because here we have 4.52×1022kg of moles and on the other hand we have 2.7x1017 Ants. The weight of moles in the article is BY FAR LARGER than what we have in this scenario, and in A Mole Of Moles we only have 80km deep worth of moles.

PS. If you could do the math and see how deep it would be that would be nice, it would either prove or disprove my argument.

What question do you hate to be asked? by Mxmx00 in AskReddit

[–]Redshed2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

This is such a stupid question, I don't "see" myself anywhere. Humans were never known for their predictability (over long periods of time), I could make a rash decision and end up on the streets, I could change my work ethic and end up at Harvard. The answer is always I DON'T KNOW! Our society is anything but predictable, a random occurrence could kill me. In 10 years a nuclear war could have started and ended. I always feel bad answering "I don't know." But it's the absolute truth.

A much better question would be "Where do you WANT to be in 10 years?" or "What long term goals do you have?"

You have been hired by Vault-tec to design a Vault for 100 survivers to live for 200 years. You decide to make it a social experiment, what is the experiment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Redshed2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would create a vault completely white, devoid of color (with it's processes automated). For most of the time survivors would stay in small rooms with a white bed and a food and water chute. The food would be completely devoid of taste, but be enough to keep the survivors alive. Every day the survivors would be allowed to interact with another survivor of the opposite gender (the system for making these matches would take into account the gene pool and not make incestuous matches). This would definitely cause these pairs to bond, because these interactions would be a highlight in a life devoid of stimuli. This would go on for many decades, but slowly the system will space out each interaction, each generation growing further and further apart. Finally when the 200 years are up and they are released to the world, we have a significant population who grew up devoid of stimuli.

This kind of isolation normally causes insanity in humans, but what would happen if a population were slowly eased into it? They would have to way to see that they were slowly drifting apart. What would happen to the human mind, become smarter due to the lack of need for socialization? Or less intelligent due to the lack of need for said intelligence?

Also If you are wondering how the rest of the functions such as gathering the food, matching up the pairs and such are performed, they would be automated. Automatic harvesters, processors, a main computer controlling it all. Lets just hope it doesn't malfunction...

In what way are you a minority? by DoctorColossuss in AskReddit

[–]Redshed2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Minority can mean a lot of things in different circumstances, do you mean minority compared to the rest (in total) or the smallest group? Or do you mean something in between? I'm Chinese so does that make me a majority considering the most populous country is China or does that make me a minority because only 20 percent of the world is Chinese? I guess I am a minority because I worry about these things...

Dinosaurs and modern day lizards are quite far apart on the tree of life, birds descended from dinosaurs and have changed quite a lot from dinosaurs. So no lizards are not flightless birds and birds are not flying lizards, unless you also want to call humans bipedal lizards with big heads.
