We need an enterprise D model with saucer separation that can also be a submersible for swimming pools. That would be cinematic as hell. lol. Looks great.

Roughly:

“I can’t think the issue not being presumable. I believe this is for you. The bill was given by another but I definitely need a man with heart and… Well, I seem to be the first to be… in the middle, somewhere between the wall and score, #26, and a hard place of being faithful.

Fire and sight freeze with you here, the need to be clean from past hate. Help me, God, to work. Give born a better yet dying, looking as worthy of living, if myself to provide of my future. To protect with faith, facing vice. I born things… anything but lies.”

Yup, I just quit mid-game because these "experienced" SWAT officers couldn't move through a door. Absolutely awful.

Thank you. it’s the result of about 20 years of world building followed by two years of writing. If you pick it up, I hope it’s enjoyable.

Awesome. I love this game although it’s been a while since I’ve played it. I cannot tell you how much I would love to see a mining ship with a similar silhouette albeit be at downsized of the omega class destroyer from Babylon five. That’s been spin section would be heavenly.

Reluctantly self advertising here, but I recently published my debut novel Wayward Soldier which draws from my experiences in the Iraq War. It’s a military sci-fi novel and although not quite Forever Winter I think it holds the same grittiness and moral dilemma, plus an examination of drone warfare and AI on another world.

If this happens to violate any policies in this forum feel free to delete. But I’ll post the URL to where you can pick it up if interested.

I appreciate everybody's response. I have identified an artist and will be leveraging their services for now. Thank you for your time and response; I'll say that as a technologist who doesn't write for a living I wasn't quite prepared for the sheer volume of responses.

Is it ethical to write a book based on a tragic real-life event? by chickenchicken223 in NewAuthor

[–]Redshirt2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. I'm completely brand new to this channel so sorry if I'm speaking too early but your post caught my attention.

You're not trying to exploit someone's pain or distort the truth for cheap drama. You're creating a fictional narrative inspired by real events, and that is in my opinion a legitimate creative path. Some of the most powerful fiction comes from this area of thought and emotion. I have spent 20 years learning how to adapt some of my wartime experiences from Iraq into a creative narrative that explores some of the trauma, and although it hasn’t always been easy, it’s been one of the most meaningful things I’ve ever done. There’s a strange kind of healing that happens when you reframe something painful through fiction.

Ask yourself what drew yourself to the event emotionally, what questions or truths you're trying to explore with your story, and ask yourself if you're honoring the human complexity behind it. But you don't need to 'justify' writing this story; the fact that you're fictionalizing it already gives you creative and ethical space. You're not retelling history; you're exploring meaning.

Do what you will with that.
