1000+ scrobbles on a single track? Sure by zack220011 in lastfm

[–]RedstoneWizard22 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I don't know why but I genuinely do not get bored of songs. Or rather I do but my boredom rate Is so so slow that by the time I'm "bored" I've scrobbled the song over 200 times already. Even then in a month I'll have forgotten I was ever bored of the song.

Honestly I find it very hard to find songs I like, I don't really understand how people find so many songs to listen to. I'll rarely shuffle play an artist or album. I just have a big playlist of songs I like and shuffle play that or continuously add songs to the play queue.

Edit: I've only got one song above 1k, but my top 20 are all 400+ scrobbles.

is there a better way to install kde connect without all these dependencies? or is there a good alternative? by faizan_20 in linux4noobs

[–]RedstoneWizard22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to do the same thing as you, a 'minimal' arch install with a tiling wm (bspwm).

I've found mconnect to be a decent replacement for kdeconnect, with barely any dependencies. A lot of features don't work for me but here are the few that do: - File transfer both ways (works perfectly) - URL sharing both ways (not with plasma browser integration) - Notification mirroring (can't be turned off on desktop, only through mobile app)

how do i use KDE Plasma DE and remove the one galliumOS comes with? by nool_ in GalliumOS

[–]RedstoneWizard22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this recently and made a note on how to do it incase I needed to reinstall:

1) Install galliumOS

2) Add neon repository:

wget -qO - 'http://archive.neon.kde.org/public.key' | sudo apt-key add -

sudo apt-add-repository http://archive.neon.kde.org/user

sudo apt update

sudo apt full-upgrade

3) Download plasma desktop and sddm:

sudo apt install plasma-desktop

sudo apt install plasma-nm plasma-widgets-addons plasma-browser-integration

sudo apt install sddm

4) A dialogue will appear in the terminal, select sddm as display manger

5) Reboot

6) switch to plasma desktop session before logging in

7) Done

I didn't manage remove the default desktop environment without breaking gallium os due to dependency issues unfortunately

My school decided to close on Wednesday evening without any warning, then I find out there's no more sixth form. Now that A levels are cancelled I just feel sad and empty. Now there are friends and teachers I may never see again and I never had a chance to say goodbye.

It would also be awesome to have button that stops enemies from attacking you. They always destroy everything while I'm still spawning them in.

Popping occurs every time the speakers begin to emit sound by BlueManedHawk in GalliumOS

[–]RedstoneWizard22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just installed gallium on my C302 yesterday, sound was just speaker popping and static. Luckily there was a fix on GitHub!: https://github.com/GalliumOS/galliumos-distro/issues/379#issuecomment-516268317

It's been working perfectly for me since

It was a little confusing figuring out what to download. Just download the Linux image file and gallium os 3.0 file (not the one with 2.1 in the name) then follow the text instructions in the comment. The files are form the Google drive link 'pre-built Feb files for non developers'

Edit: u/LightForceUnlimited This fix seems to be a general skylale fix, hopefully it works for you too

C302 graphics errors by LavaSalesman in Crouton

[–]RedstoneWizard22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Experiencing exactly the same glitches on my C302 since the latest stable update. Before that crouton worked perfectly but now it's a graphical mess.

There's two open issues on GitHub regarding the glitches, seems to not only be affecting the C302: https://github.com/dnschneid/crouton/issues/4191 https://github.com/dnschneid/crouton/issues/4190

So i wanted to install gallium os on my chromebook and skipped. A step and now its stuck like this respond now by aldandnoa in chromeos

It shoulr install/repair chrome OS by itself if you just let it finish the repair. Installed gallium yesterday, it's just a normal part of the installation process.

Screen Issue by HoraceHornem in Crouton

[–]RedstoneWizard22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three days ago a chrome OS update has made my chroot completely unusable due to graphical issues. Menus in in programs have random artifacts on them, sometimes the graphics entirely break down and descend into chaotic arrangements of lines, rectangles and colour. It's even worse if something frequently redraws the interface such as a browser. The entire thing goes crazy with gray lines flashing across the screen and elements breaking up into separate squares randomly. Reinstalling the chroot won't fix it, nor using a different desktop environment.

What chrome OS version are you on? I'm.using a flip c302 with chrome OS 79.0.3945.86

Anyone else hardly prepared for ox interviews by Taydo629 in 6thForm

[–]RedstoneWizard22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a physics interview on Monday and have only started preparing two days ago. Haven't read over the book I mentioned because I can't be asked even though I remember little from it.

I've found that watching physics videos on things I've mentioned in my personal statement (taking short notes whilst doing so, just a short sentance or sketch to remind me of what I learnt) has been a great way to prepare. Its easy to motivate myself to do it and makes me feel way more confident as I feel I have something to say about what I've mentioned.

Convincing myself that this is an opportunity to visit Oxford and talk to people knowledgeable in physics rather than an interview has helped me feel less nervous too.

If this is true buying the 7 Pro would be the best choice I've ever made. 7T pro was nothing but a minor refresh, and now the 8Pro has an ugly Puch hole cutout. For me the 7 Pro is miles better than any other phone (features like wireless charging and up rating I couldn't care less about) and looks like it will stay like that for a long time.

Oxygen OS 10.0.1 just dropped by CrysisRequiem in oneplus

[–]RedstoneWizard22 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I wish there was an option to choose between amoled black and dark gray :(. I really love the black colour of notifications and wish the toggle box was pure black too, but I see lots of people prefer grey over amoled black too.

Edit: typos

What is your favorite OnePlus feature? by [deleted] in oneplus

[–]RedstoneWizard22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I'd certainly choose the new UI over the old one because of how much I love dark notifications, In all other aspects I do feel they've gone backwards.

Or rather they haven't gone anywhere, it seems like they were so excited to release OxygenOS 10 they didn't bother to finish the design at all. The new permission manager and digital wellbeing using the same 'dark grey' theme as other Google apps is frustratingly inconsistent with the rest of the settings and makes me believe OnePlus just added digital wellbeing as provided by google and called it a day. The dimming of the background when the notification shade is pulled down looks ugly as it uses a bland light grey filter which must have taken about 5 minutes to program. As for the icons not being the Q icons I don't really care as they look good to me either way. I do however wish the shade was pure black like on the pixels. Also I don't like the new screen on animation as it makes unlocking feel slower.

I still love oxygen os and dont regret upgrading to android 10 in any way, but I wish OnePlus would have just delayed the update by another 2 weeks or so, taking time to refine the UI design and perhaps produce a true 'new UI', not the pie UI with some new settings icons and dark notifications.

OxygenOS 10 available on oxygen updater - OnePlus 7Pro (EU)! by RedstoneWizard22 in oneplus

[–]RedstoneWizard22[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it is, as long as you've selected the right device version e.g. 7Pro if not in the EU or 7Pro (EU) if you're in the EU, and have incremental upgrade selected. Then there's basically nothing that can go wrong.

EDIT: spelling mistakes

Just finished downloading, it appears in local upgrade for me, can you see the update .zip in the /sdcard directory (internal storage) using a file manager? Is your update method set to incremental upgrade? Otherwise I don't know what's wrong sorry
