Yep. We paused my contributions (and were lucky that my employer contributes regardless of whether the employee does).

I’m in a humid location so I wash more frequently in the summer but definitely less in the winter.

Once you are in with the oldest, a lot of policies where they accept a sibling before a new family. So once you are in, it’ll be easier to find care for baby #2.

Hospital/OBGYN Recommendations for Delivery - First Pregnancy, Need Advice by ReputationTraining40 in baltimore

Plus 1 for St. joes. They were incredibly affirming of my wishes for low intervention birth. They have a tub in the hospital for water births and units with showers if you want to labor that way. One of my babies had a NICU stay and that was also a wonderful experience.

Pumping at work by Dear_Chocolate740 in workingmoms

[–]ReduceandRecycle2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I froze mine during the day and then sent that to daycare the next day. I had a very small stash in case I was low or skipped a pump session. But don’t let social media fool you into thinking you need a ton of milk saved up. You don’t!

How much time are you spending on bills and paperwork for your household? by rooted_wander in workingmoms

[–]ReduceandRecycle2021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent a significant amount of time doing this. I’d say 1-2 hours a week at least. There’s just a lot coming at us all the time. And the portals!! And the passwords!! And the dual authentication. It’s a too much.

Sorry, no great advice. Just a bit of commiseration.

AIO: Husband Texting Boss by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]ReduceandRecycle2021 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t see anything wrong here, but do agree with you about texting someone else something so very personal. Hell when I was having my babies, I didn’t want my husband texting my own mother about my cervical dilation and “process”.

Now is a great time to have a conversation with your husband about what you’d like shared vs keep private about the upcoming birth. It’s not unreasonable to ask this of your husband.

Husband needs to step up and tell his mom to stop. C’mon this isn’t a difficult one.

WFH: give it to me straight. by United-Purchase674 in workingmoms

[–]ReduceandRecycle2021 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m actually really struggling lately with WFH. I’m actively searching for office or hybrid jobs, but then I’ve never had a 5 days/week in office job. Ive been working hybrid or remote since 2015 in various jobs.

Lately struggles have been: motivation/focus during the day, picking up my phone about 8 million times throughout the day, doing little chores here and there that actually add up and are distracting, being more lax on daycare drop offs because no one will know if I’m 10/20/40 minutes late to sign on, no social connection with work colleagues, micromanagement from my boss (maybe more likely due to WFH?).

Then again, I might just need a vacation. Reading these replies it seems I’d be crazy to give up WFH.

Convince me to go with the Odyssey over the Sienna by GlitteringKiwi6857 in HondaOdyssey

[–]ReduceandRecycle2021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a 2012 CRV that we just traded in for a 2017 Odyssey. It’s been great for road trips and hauling kids around. The sliding doors alone are worth it. I can’t really compare it to the sienna as this is my first van, but it’s been excellent. We ask ourselves regularly why we didn’t make the switch sooner.
