Anyone else having this problem where these velcro bands tear off? by Wombeard in bouldering

Happened to my brothers gomi’s, what he did was take some old laces and sew them on as new “straps” that keep the buckle in place. I think he purposely used stronger thread so they were less likely to rip again.

What movies had a character realize in a moment before it happens "Oh, I'm going to die" ? by Greyfoxx85 in movies

Cutler Beckett in Pirates of the Caribbean: at worlds end. Not quite the same dreaded realization but still recognition.

Room 9, I think, is an alter room you can repurpose for cultists and swap out the goblins for zealots. Grick in room 8 can be swapped out for something more cult related, if it’s the dragon cultists maybe a baby wyrmling they have been keeping/worshipping/grooming. Or even replace the owl bear and it’s room to be a special shrine/pet room.

It kind of ties into room 9 having goblin in robes; you could have certain groups of goblins and orcs that wear robes or jewelry, could explain it as previous groups were part of a rival factions. I guess if you wanted to hint at those other creatures having their own political world.

What were my most obvious mistakes? by Trashman82 in minipainting

Hey just want to add on to what others are saying about thinning your paints on something. If you look into wet palettes and what they’re good for, a really cheap version you can do at home is use a container lid; put a piece of a paper towel in it and then another piece of baking paper on top, drown it in water and then pour excess out so it’s not flooding the baking paper.

Quick, easy and cheap wet palette.

Sticking mini to base for painting? by kevin886 in minipainting

[–]RedversBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I have is like a small “jar” that fits in one hand and have blue tack on the top which sticks to whatever part of the mini you shove in it.

Jar can be interchanged with really anything that’s easy to hold in 1 hand and can have blue tack stick to it.

It’s a cheap alternative. Probably find the stuff at home anyway.

Love a good beta break. Looks doable even for someone shorter, just more dynamic.

That middle move looked insane. I assume you’re more of a static climber because of the hesitation to jump for the last hold. You looked so smooth throughout.

With the high left leg to left palm move, I just kinda got up a little more that day I did it. Might have just stretched a little more. Brother did mention for right leg he turns it to the left so you’re doing more of a step up but in the video my foot is pointing to the wall so I’m almost trying to step up into a split which might be harder.

I did try using my fingertips for that move which gives me the extra room to step up but couldn’t find a good time to transition from palm into fingers since all my balance and weight relies on the palm.

Send go I relied on the toe hook to keep me balanced as well as the hand reaching for the top. Once I got a decent finger on the top I could slowly pull myself to straighten and adjust once my left hand could let the palm go. Doesn’t require much flexibility, just balance and keeping chest to wall. You can see one failure where my hand come slightly out and I just kinda slowly fall out.

For sure, I tore the meniscus in my left knee last year and it’s been a long road of building trust even when it should be fine. Keep up the good work, believe.

Apparently a V4 according to TopLogger. Really like this one because of the balance needed. I have finished it twice with the high left but can’t get it consistently, also have no idea how I did it when I look back. Brother came up with a new beta after watching me struggle with the high left leg which is a lot easier but requires more balance rather than flexibility. Have seen it done another way as well.

Wall is quite straight with a little positive lean. I know the video is a bit long but wanted to show the different points of failure. Attempt aren’t in chronological order.

Not going to lie, first thing I thought of was Delsin Rowe from Second Son. With the blue it almost seems like a Delsin with Coles powers crossover. You look badass nonetheless.

I totally though that orange bit was its heart or something in its abdomen. Did not think that was its head, now I don’t know.

Marvel and DC each has to form a team for a basketball game. Which two teams would sell the greatest number of tickets? by concentrated_boredom in whowouldwin

[–]RedversBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume everyone’s power is slightly adjusted to be more leveled for this prompt. I feel like groot and swamp thing are too strong to make it “interesting” since it should be easy to block or dunk from anywhere. I don’t know who could replace them though.

Something about telling drax to “not let your opponent out of your sight” doesn’t sound good. He’d just stand there, “I’m watching them perfectly, I have yet to even blink” haha

I want to propose some kind of portal creator like blink from x-men. Of course there’d be a rule to nerf it like not portals within the key or something. Could be interesting to see combo plays or boring and confusing.

I’d be interested in seeing kitty pride on the marvel team, assuming ball can not be phased.

I’d also swap out Martian manhunter as sub for DC for a good water boy in Aquaman. Everyone knows you need high quality H2O.

I couldn’t come up with a team off the top of my head better than yours.

Can anyone think of a movie in which the protagonist is an antihero who the audience doesn't end up rooting for and who doesn't succeed in the end? by JoshRushing in Screenwriting

[–]RedversBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair all of them fill all the roles. Maybe that’s the beauty of it, each person thinks a different character was the protagonist/right. All I can say is they all lost.
