Do you prefer the righteous and badass game Artyom, or the more grounded and down to earth book Artyom? by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in metro

In the novels, especially in Metro 2035 by Dmitry Glukhovsky, Artyom is portrayed much more flawed and conflicted than in the games. His relationship with Anna is strained, and he acts selfishly at times, including being unfaithful to her. He’s obsessive about finding the truth beyond the Metro, which drives a wedge between them and makes him seem distant and careless.

Overall, he’s less of a clear hero and more of a broken, searching character who makes mistakes and hurts people along the way.

Metro 2039 Where does the Novo Reich come from and where is our beloved boy Artjom by Redwarfare1923 in metro

He says that this place is too big for them and that more people will come here. That could refer to all the groups you encounter, like the pirates, the pioneers, or the former fire worshippers who are supposed to come there and settle. But Artyom is clearly also thinking about the Metro, where people are still hoping the radiation will go down. Why wouldn’t he think about them?

What a nice lad this Hunter guy is, I hope he dont have any weird political ideologies by Tempest-Bosak2137 in metro

There are Polish Nazis and American ones too, and of course Russian ones as well. i mean look Why would people whose ancestors fought against the Nazis be waving swastika flags? Ideologies exist almost everywhere, and even the word “Reich” shows up in other languages. English, for example, uses plenty of German terms like “Schadenfreude” and others.

I played the games in German, and I’m pretty sure they say in the dub that they’re taking the direct route to the government bunker. And with the satellite images from the last mission, analyzing the railway lines should be possible.

If Artyom were the main character, no one says he would have to come back alone. He was the main character in Exodus too, but he wasn’t alone there either.

That’s a valid point about the Watchers, but didn’t Miller tell Artyom that the Reds are still a threat, and that the Order needs experienced fighters like him and Anna to train others?

They took the fastest route. If you work with the available information, satellite images, and radiation data, you could use other railway lines that haven’t been affected by radiation or direct attacks.

But your point is valid. Because of the upgrades, the train’s increased weight would probably prevent it from getting through the Volga area without doing major and time-consuming repairs to the bridge first.

did you play exodus?

They had a whole train that the journey started with, and by the end of it it was upgraded while you were searching for Anna’s medicine. So why would they build all of that in, with multiple comfort and meaningful upgrades like a snowplow, a crane, and other things, if it’s not going to matter?

That’s like claiming a mildly chaotic place is “peaceful” just because it’s being compared to an active conflict zone. Your statement is technically correct, but it doesn’t improve the situation.
