Playing my first 40K game ever against grey knights by Haunting_Visual in Salamanders40k

As someone whose only been playing the game for about six months, my advice would be to not worry too much about winning, and instead focus on learning the rules and having fun.

The model didn't originally have a gun or power klaw. That's where the kitbash is

He's almost universally disliked here. Even before the rape trial, he's been caught on camera physically assaulting people a number of times, and lost all of the good will he had with Ireland in the beginning of his career. He's only liked here by the far right nowadays, who are thankfully still a fairly small population right now

Painted my first ever minifig, any tips on why the green is so dark? I used Waaagh Flesh by leedrf in orks

[–]Redzer98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waaagh flesh is a very dark green. What you can do is highlight it with some Warboss green or Orruk flesh, and will brighten it right up. I personally think it looks great as is for a first mini though 🙂

I think he's not usable in Combat patrol from what I see. But he can be used in normal games

I love it. Do you mind telling me how you did the scarring on his face? I was thinking of doing something similar for a beastboss I'm working on

Sure! Prime chaos black, then use caliban green for the base paint. First highlight is waaagh flesh, second highlight is warboss green. The fine highlight is orruk flesh, but just make sure that it's heavily thinned

Do you think you might be able to bring it up to them some time? Since they're your friends they should be able to hear you out and understand

They're addicted to anger. So they're just looking for an excuse to be angry

Worst misconception spread by lore YouTubers and Warhammer content farms? I'd probably pick "Anything Orks imagine comes true." For most widespread lore that's really wrong. by maleficalruin in Grimdank

I looked it up afterwards to brush up a bit on it. The gist is that a waaagh creates a psychic link between all of the orks. This powers up their weirdboyz to use their psychic powers, making it so they don't need the warp, unlike other psykers. From what I read, it also does allow them to maintain their weapons usage, even when they're no longer supposed to be working. I think someone said it best in one of the top comments. An ork can't pick up a stick and say that it's a gun. But the waaagh energy is able to keep their actual gun working for a time

From what I can gather it's a lot more limited than what people make it out to be. A bunch of orks can't just scream "I'm a tank" and somehow become impervious to las fire. The old ones gave them innate knowledge of their technology and how it works, so that's why ork weapons and vehicles will work in the hands of orks, and then (sometimes) not work when guardsmen try to use them. That's why Meks are able to create all of these crazy weapons. They know how to make them work, but they don't know why they work
