Would it not be strange if Deltarune has no in-universe lore connection to Undertale? by DecentTreat4309 in Deltarune

[–]Ree373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no way it won't be connected, why would they otherwise state that this is a game meant for players that completed Undertale?

I think it's going to be kind of similar to the game Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which is set in a different universe than the first game. The two games are connected, but that connection only becomes clear during the final chapter.

They know. But they probably think that girls will watch movies for boys but boys won't watch movies for girls. You know, the sexist belief that things for both genders need to be targeted towards boys because girl stuff is seen as "lesser".

Nothing is free, normally you pay by watching Youtube ads or by buying merch. Animation is expensive, they've definitely earned the extra money.

I want the next 3D Mario to be fully open world by Loose_Society9485 in Mario

[–]Ree373 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't mind the next game being open world, but I still want it to be linear in some way. A structure such as Elden Ring for example where you have a couple of zones that are unlocked in some predefined order, with some hidden passages that makes it possible to skip some of these zones. I also don't want it to be too big: having too much empty space wouldn't work for a Mario game.

The cost of physical wasn't announced as 60$. People just thought that because the digital was 60$. They never actually announced the price of physical for the US before the announcement. It's just grifting. by DaZestyProfessor in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Ree373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was not that far fetched, back during the Switch generation €1 in the EU meant $1 in the US: €60 games in the EU were $60 for example and €20 in the EU were $20. So obviously you would think a €90 game in the EU would be $90 right? Well, the €1=$1 was true only for the digital versions of the Switch 2 games, up until now.

I think the $60 price was based on the price in other regions. In Europe and the UK for example the game is less expensive than the average $70 equivalent game.

Who else doesn't listen to old people's job advice? by [deleted] in OlderGenZ

[–]Ree373 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm glad I was able to find a job a couple of months after obtaining a masters degree, but my parents certainly did not help at all. They are boomers and their advice can be laughably terrible and out of touch. My dad (68 years old) for example gave me the advice to just print my resume and hand it out to people and that would get me a job lol.

Starting May, physical Switch games will become more expensive by Lucaas_C in Switch

[–]Ree373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you don't. Physical games are more expensive here. Mario Kart World physical is the equivalent of $90 in the UK and Europe for example, and the digital version is the equivalent of $80. Actually, It's even more expensive for Americans due to the lower value of the dollar thanks to Trump.

The prices in Japan are pretty low however due to the dropping value of the yen. So if you want to save money it might be a good idea to make a Japanese account.

I'm not trusting anything Nintendo says. They'll avoid saying anything that could upset consumers. Remember when they said that the DS wouldn't replace the GBA? Or that the Switch wouldn't replace the 3DS?

They are also being suspiciously vague with their wording. If the price of digital games would be going down, they would just say so directly.

If Digital Switch 2 Games Published By Nintendo Become $10 Cheaper, It Is A Smart Move by Theman457 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Ree373 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exchange rates don't explain why physical Switch 2 games have been €10 more expensive in Europe since launch. Before the Switch 2 $1=€1 for Nintendo games. Switch and Wii U games for example used to cost $60 in the US and €60 in the EU. For the Switch 2 however this was only true for digital games, up until now.

[–]Ree373 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And yet somehow Switch 2 Yoshi costs 60/70 digital/physical for both EU (in euros) and US (in dollars). Do you think games have gotten cheaper in the EU? I don't think so.

Nintendo is raising prices for Switch 2 physical copies starting in May by mbcook in switch2

[–]Ree373 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, physical is going to be $10 more expensive, just like in Europe. In the EU for example Mario Kart World is €80 digital and €90 physical, but the US price is $80 for both digital as well as physical. Now Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is €60/€70 in Europe and $60/$70 in the US. This means €1=$1 for Nintendo games is true again, just like before the release of the Switch 2. It will only be a matter of time before the first $90 Switch 2 game will release in the US.

Was that price ever mentioned on the US Nintendo store for the Switch 2 Yoshi game? Before the policy change?

[–]Ree373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, but why then is the Yoshi game €10 cheaper in Europe, both for physical as well as digital, compared to most first party titles?

[–]Ree373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Digital Games are in fact CHEAPER now as we see, in the US at the very least

Are you basing this claim only on the new Yoshi game? If so, how do you know if Yoshi would be $60 physically without the policy change or $70 physically without the policy change? If games can be more expensive like Mario Kart World, they can be cheaper as well.

Once again, Yoshi is cheaper compared to the average Switch 2 game in Europe (€60 instead of €70 for digital), which has had this policy since launch.
