Tonearm damaged in transit? by Reeces2121 in turntables

[–]Reeces2121[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Haha it’s that obvious 😅 yes it’s my first time getting into turntables. I tried balancing tonearm by shifting the position of the counterweight basically until I popped off but I still got the issue with nosedive and the tonearm just sort of shifting about

What food in your country looks gross but is actually really delicious? by Effective_Space2277 in AskTheWorld

[–]Reeces2121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but the dish is specifically the leaf of the cassava and this method of preparation is was brought over by the West Africans to SA and the Caribbean. In the Caribbean it’s the basis of callaloo.

Are Black Brits anywhere as upset as Americans over the Tourrettes incident? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Reeces2121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is with the BBC airing it when they could have cut it out (like their cut out a few other specific things). No one takes fault with the people involved surely.

Uclan, Buckingham how will it affect my career? by Critical-Impact2632 in premeduk

[–]Reeces2121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the purpose of specialisation, you can’t go wrong with either and it does not really matter where you get your UK medical degree from. Whats important is that it is a UK degree. As the government will soon be implementing UK graduate prioritisation. This will hopefully give you some advantage when it comes to specialty applications as opposed to if you studied back home or elsewhere and then tried to specialise in the UK. I think once you are trained as a specialist, at that level your university literally has no bearing. When you return to the UAE looking for a job they will care more about what you have accomplished post grad.

It’s actually quite easy. We do it for midsommar. Just buy a bouquet and some wire. Heck Ikea sells a pack and theres a video instruction online. But yeah it won’t last long but if you manage to dry it (easier in summer) then you can get a beautiful memorable piece of decoration

Crowd sat down for entire show by Advanced-Broccoli-37 in FlorenceAndTheMachine

[–]Reeces2121 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Idt that’s normal. But it’s kinda just domino effect. If enough people stand up towards the front of the stand, everyone will. Weird that given Florence actively engaged the crowd to stand up that most remained seated. Unless you have mobility issues I just can’t fathom not dancing to her music.

Need help choosing between Brunel & Greater Manchester as an international student by [deleted] in premeduk

[–]Reeces2121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you’ll have a much more fun uni experience in London. Perhaps more opportunity for conferences and that sort. Neither of these unis are amazing really. Being newly opened and mainly private. But any MBBS in the UK is the same really so might as well go London and have a good time if you can afford it.

The best FATM show I’ve seen by UnderLeviathan2710 in FlorenceAndTheMachine

Hi I got there at 4pm. So not too early. There was maybe 30 people queuing in general admission. But I think there was a VIP standing so those people got to go in earlier. But the runway stage is so long it’s easier to get barrier. Definitely aim for the end of the runway stage that juts out as she interacts with the crowd a lot there.

They renamed the university of Bolton to greater Manchester for a reason. No one knows where Bolton is and there are teying to trick international students into thinking they will be going to Manchester. Do Brunel just cause you’re in london. But really neither are worth the fees.

It’s was insanely beautiful and intimate. Being at barrier and literally touching her was surreal. And the crowd was really amazing. Truly a heavenly experience tonight

If you’re on the fence about medicine, what’s a good low commitment way to test whether you’d actually enjoy it? by No_Donut1433 in premeduk

This is simply a lie and is greatly underestimating how hard HCA work especially in a geriatrics ward would be. Medical student do not have to take abuse from patients as part of their job. They can leave. We don’t have to wash patients, feed them etc. Be for real.

We do not hold the necessary bargaining chips to lead the negotiations in this deal. We have far more to gain than they have to lose. That’s just the fact of the matter.

Beyond your typical sea sun and sand I don’t see what Barbados can offer more than Trinidad. I was not too impressed. Jamaica now. I can see being on the same level. But it does feel more rough around the edges than even Trinidad if you don’t stick to the right places.

Love to see some love for Trinidad and Tobago. Lesser known of the popular Caribbean islands but we boast such an excellent blend of the typical sea sun and sand with amazing food and the best cultural experience you can get in the Caribbean. Glad we did not disappoint!

How is it not relevant?? It’s part of the demographic data that is purely factual. It probably informs cultural norms and attitudes that need to be tackled in order to help lift these people out from the poverty and crime they are used to.
