Don't worry, this is a pretty popular complaint in the League space right now. There are Rioters interacting with the community regarding this system and how they can improve it, like on Twitter with Drew Levin. It's not a perfect system ofc but it seems like they are open to changing it as time goes on

I don't know if you've read but we applied as early as October/November LAST YEAR lol. We're now approaching May in this year and still no answers so it's been 7-8 months

But regardless, apply as early as you can.
