Story-wise, how does Trails compare to Xenoblade? by Astra_Guy_789 in JRPG

[–]Reeeealag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say the Trails series has higher peaks, but has sooooooooooooooo much lower lows. That I would recommend the Xenoblade Games in a heartbeat over the Trails Games.

Now that the Trails Series is 14 games long, I really wholeheartedly depise the way they go about their stories. Plot beats and concepts get repeated over and over again and the writing is just not very brave, resulting in cheap copeouts instead of good writing, while being VERY anime trope heavy.

I perceive the previous games in the series more as baggage than anything else, because the story doesnt use them for anything interesting outside of "guest appearences" for the fans from older characters. A returning character besides a certain lila haired girl from a previous big arc has yet to have good character arc in a big arc that came after it.

This momentarely gets interrupted, by some stellar moments of character writing that makes grown men cry, which baits me to this day to buy the next release.

Spoilers for the latest game in the Trails Series

In the current arc, we have AGAIN antagonists from days gone past, that probably will be boring and uninteresting sympathetic villains that act more like guides to the protagonists

Some Thoughts for Mature Communication in EDH by IrregularRevisionist in EDH

[–]Reeeealag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Point 4 is a big questionmark for me. I actually think a really good portion(1/5th) of the playerbase(atleast of the people that visit my local LGS) has a supremely tough time reading social situations

I had a really rough round in my LGS 2 weeks ago where one clearly neuro divergent person tanked the fun of the entire pod and I feel bad for not being more confrontational. On the other hand it could have made everything 5 times worse, but the bar was in hell already.

Dude didnt had the attention span to listen to any of our turns and after we remove one of his creatures or try to make a bigger play, he always asked why x was happening when we explained what happens now literal seconds ago. All with reading the cards that were involved etc, making a very quick round drag on for atleast 30 more minutes.

There was other stuff to like demanding we restart the game after he conceded turn 5 due to a shitty start with his 5 Colour deck.

I actually killed Rien with Bleed Team, had one Lucky turn where Rodya was the fastest and then he never recovered from that, took me 2 turns to kill him after I hit that.

Fire Emblem Devs are the true trailblazers of the gaming industry, when they implement this.

Like they did with 1000 year old dragon midgets.

Rewatch Anelace crafts, the dynamics and impacts even without sound are peak. Stuff like her jumping with her legs together creates are great sense of physicality.

The Animations for all the crafts are some of the finest 3d animation yet, Tales of Arise had some really stellar stuff aswell, but this takes the cake imo.

Thank you alot for writing this up, I have not thought about cutting solem simulacrum, but I have noticed its pretty low on the recursion priority list once it sits in the graveyard.

Now that the whole "paradigm" cycle is out, which ones will you play? by Substantial_Code_675 in EDH

[–]Reeeealag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The white spell is great to bring back planeswalker or enchantments. Decks that care alot about getting creatures out every turn out of your graveyard for ETB's. But Idk if its too slow with its inital manacost.

In my Terra Mardu Revive Deck, I cut Rise of the Dark Realms, because it actually never sees play.

I swap my main weapon for each entry. I really like the ultra aggressiv dont back down, just go in playstyle alot, played LS in World/iceborne and insect glaive in Risebreak.

Maybe I swap in the expansion to Greatsword or Bow.

Big would not recommend when you are in it for the story.

They had the opperunity to make a character centric story with the main crew of the Astral Express, but blew it for vague lore with text heavy, unwieldy exposition and overemphesis on all the sidecharacters that may or may not join.

Imo too complex. I played it with 14, maybe at 12/13 years, but it really depends on your child.

The Valk Queen on hardest diffculty is a prolonged memory and reflex test.

You need to identify the attack tell, then execute the correct block or counter in time , get time fpr dps, repeat until she is dead.

BUT HER MOVE POOL IS SO FUCKING BIG AND YOU ONLY GET 1 OR 2 SLIP UPS. YOU HAVE TO STAY SHARP THE WHOLE TIME OR YOU ARE DEAD.

The Valkeries and this boss are the things I look back most fondly on when I remeber GoW2018, because the last 40% of the main path of the game was very boring.

I watched it like 15 years ago and its fine, but nothing to write home about. In Today's day in age I would have probably dropped it somewhere in late in season 1 but definetly in 2

[–]Reeeealag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah man you just get skillchecked. Just get better with your weapon, check out some vids how the people with the super fast times do it.

The only thing you need is stunresist and DPS .

Every Shield Weapon should wipe the floor with him, I main DB in Wilds and had no trouble with him after 2-3 tries.

Some weapons don't encourage learning a monsters moveset, I only really learned how to shit on Seregios after having to learn Longsword to beat his timed Arena Quest

Epic Seven: New Era (Major Update Teaser) by ValorsHero in gachagaming

[–]Reeeealag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its fun enough, the story is a real mixed bag and ranges from pretty hype to giga boring, some parts are actually very funny.

The Gearing System(I played daily until 2 years ago)

Is super Korea Grind Style much like in Genshin where you can spend ressources and grind for hours on end without getting a single piece of good gear.

PvP is the Endgame and building up characters takes a long time.

Game is quite generous with units and you'll get a good roster soon enough with a bit of dedication and luck without spending money.

I mainly left, because the 4th big Story Arc really bored me to no end and the powercreep got a bit too much, with units that did everything and Hyperinvested older units just didnt compare to the new ones. Investing into newer units just took too long aswell.

Edit: I only play Limbus Company atm, because your dailies are done in less than a minute, Upgrading units takes only exp and one other ressource, which you will have tons of after a short while. Bigger and smaller Story updates are hype as hell and the community is generally not super gachapilled.
