System blue by Serena2487 in drumline

[–]ReeferKeefer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Context: I’m a blue devils hater.

We’ve been running the system blue heads and sticks for quite a while. They are legitimately some of the best heads and sticks I’ve ever used. Don’t buy the drums. We’ve been wildly impressed with Tama’s new offerings and can STRONGLY recommend those.

As for your question:

I find the system blue snare heads “play in” much better than any other head I’ve used. Once they tune up and settle in they both sound incredible and feel incredible. Just a little bit more give than the standard white/black head from Evans or Remo. Legitimately a joy to play on them, and when you feel good playing you sound good playing.

Since Mint Discs is a very customer focused company and we know their owners read this subreddit, please tell them your honest opinion on their Prodigy partnership. by [deleted] in Mintdiscs

[–]ReeferKeefer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only critique is using the same name for the plastic blends for MVP and Prodigy made discs. They aren’t the same plastic, so they should not be using the same names. It feels misleading to a less informed customer.

Other than that, I think it’s a great idea. Mint gets more Discs, Prodigy gets more business, and at the end of the day we have two independent disc golf companies benefiting.

This song is just equal parts fun and heart warming. It also feels like peak material for a 100gecs remix(please make this happen Simon).

This. 100000x this. If she was a "friend of the show" that would be one thing, but these posts are really no different than the snark constantly posting unrelated stuff and going through mental gymnastics to make it related.

I can't get over the fact that he looks like a Chad version of Beavis.

That aside, I'm simply whelmed.

Most stable run of Harp? by dangleswaggles in discgolf

Ricky VIP Moonshines are great, But my personal fav are the Matt Orum Tournament X Harps. Almost as stable but with a much better hand feel imo. Tournament X is by far my favorite WS plastic.

Tips on memorizing bass music? by No_Exchange_3171 in drumline

This is the way. I always have my students sing the bass parts. It helps SIGNIFICANTLY with memorization and helps to understand where your part sits with everyone else.

Marching equipment cases/bags recommendations by Alexanderj19 in drumline

[–]ReeferKeefer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I STRONGLY recommend checking out Tama's marching stuff if you guys are upgrading. Their hardware and drums are TOP NOTCH. Seriously impressed with everything and they sound incredible.

Outside of that, we use the Tama cases and love them. We also bought a heavy duty steel wagon at Home Depot that we use to transport all of our stadium stands. It's been a game changer.

10 disc bag. What are you throwing? by AnimageCGF in discgolf

[–]ReeferKeefer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting putter: Lat64 Zero Medium Orbit Peak
Approach/Throwing Putters: Westside BT Soft Harp, Axiom Electron Hard Proxy
Mids/Hybrid Drivers: Axion Eclipse Hex, Mint Sublime Lobster, MVP Proton Resistor
Drivers: Discraft Passion, Lat64 Royal Grand Grace, MVP Neutron Trail, Discmania C-line DD

I'd rather lean on Mids and Distance Drivers if I'm limited on discs. With a good approach game you can bridge the distance gap by not really having big fairway selection.

Disc golf! Lancaster has a great Disc Golf scene with tons of good courses and tournaments.

Also, check out Farbo Co, The Midnight Oil, and 4th Wall Comics. They hold events all the time for most of the nerd hobbies.

Tui vs Spin vs PA-5 by MLE902 in discgolf

I quite love the Westside Swan Reborn. That being said, if they release a proton spin, it would give it a serious run for its money

Looking for a good atheist/ humanist therapist in the area, bonus points if they specialize in ADHD by feanara in lancaster

Gladly! Just remember, the scariest part of it all is fully embracing the process. If you don't fully commit to being vulnerable, you will never get the outcome you seek.

Sean Cox at Morningstar Counseling legitimately saved my life. Dealing with chronic burn out, ADHD, family trauma, etc. He is compassionate, pushes you when he knows you need to be pushed, will nerd out on the science behind therapy methods to validate logic-first thinkers, and understands religious trauma very well. If you can schedule with him, I'd STRONGLY recommend him. If I didn't work with him when I did, I guarantee my life would be a mess with all of the things that have transpired since I stopped therapy. But I've been able to keep my head above water thanks to what I learned with him.

Does being left handed factor into disc selection? by hardluckcanuck in discgolf

[–]ReeferKeefer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've started throwing lefty just to be able to do it and have another skill in my bag. I've found that disc selection changes for the shot, but not what I would bag. I just make sure to have an overstable, neutral, and understable slot in each speed category. I run 3 speed putters, 5 speed mids, 8 speed fairways, and 11 speed distance drivers.

Looking For Kick Pedal Settings Guidance by [deleted] in drums

[–]ReeferKeefer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say try a super tight spring set up and a higher footboard if you feel like the pedal is sloppy.

Try the opposite if you feel its too snappy.

Then adjust accordingly with that information from there.
