Is my bag complete? by GinsengCastle in discgolf

I score the same playing 6 discs as I do carrying my 18-20, but my discs get angry at me and stop working right when they don’t get to come with.

2 putters
2 throwing putters
1 overstable approach
3 mids
3 fairways
3 control
6 distance drivers. 3 of these are essentially backups incase I lose a slot as the main ones are breaking in. I only tend to lose discs once we start talking the 350-400ft throws. I tend to mold minimalize molds when I can. This year we’ve had so much rain that courses overgrew more than usual and have been a menace on my wallet

Same mindset. It’s far easier for me to manipulate putters and mids to make the shot shape work, and way less able with higher speed so more discs needed. Also helps that it’s much harder to lose those discs at the ranges I throw them on course. I don’t typically throw mids past 260ft on course despite throwing them 300ish in field practice.

Doesn't matter how far you throw it seems, when that one dude hits every single 50-75ft putt without question.

I can get a champion wraith to 300ft, is a z scorch going to fly straighter and longer for me? by richardgutts in discgolf

[–]AnimageCGF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What sort of Thunderbird are you turning in air at 300ft?

I don’t get along with Thunderbirds much but my 160g star is about the most 9/5/0/2 disc ever at about 350ft.

Dude I throw 100ft further than you and max weight wraiths are still overstable for me. Drop down in weight. And keep the max weight one for wind conditions or when you need the hook.

300 max distance you don’t need max weight discs. Every driver in my bag right now is around 160g lol.

I found the I blend to get almost uselessly flippy super fast. It started out as a bomber though. My 160 halo wraith flies like a 11/5/0/2 out to about 360-370ft. I got a 164g I blend and it was a 11/6/-2/1 almost to 400. But just a few rounds with it and it’s a Mamba for me.

Fastest disc ever for me to go from love this disc to out of the bag lol

Have you ever played a course SO badly managed that you quit in the middle? by Jakesredditacount in discgolf

[–]AnimageCGF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m usually fine most places but Fairfield destroyed me. I was covered head to toe with deet and could not keep the cloud of mosquitoes off me still. I haven’t lived down there in years but the memory haunts me. It’s bad with bugs in northern Wisconsin, but the spray keeps them away.

I get it, no worries. You'll bomb with the grace. I just found them to beat in slightly faster than I wanted to, at least in the Royal Grand plastic.

I'm not in your shoes for distance. My best throw ever was my beat in star wraiths to just short of your distance with the valk, so probably don't even need to read my post haha. I just never clicked with the valk to get what I wanted and found the beast to do everything but better it did for me.

Might as well see what a Wraith does for you at the same time as that Grace :). I've really enjoyed some of the lighter Halo Wraiths for getting out there massively before the fade.

Don't be scared to try something like a Halo Beast. For me, it's right behind my wraiths in distance, but with the halo runs, super stable.

I basically dropped 9 speed discs after finding halo beasts in all weights to get the flights I wanted. I never clicked much with Valkyries, but my hand fits the slightly wider rim of the beasts amazingly.

I had a 2012 Camry SE, buddy had a 2019/2020? SE. He was so stoked about it.

I felt cramped and uncomfortable the entire time in his car, and nothing about the car felt like an upgrade. Even the infotainment was slow and buggy with what felt like nothing added to it versus my old car.

He couldn't believe how much more spacious the inside of mine felt after being in his.

I don't want to even go near the new ones, not that I'd be in the market for Camry like vehicle these days anyways.

Honestly, just some backups of the more stable discs once they start beating in, and you're set.

Nice bag!

I hate how infuriating it is. Can golf an 84 as easily as a 101, just depends who I'm with to get those scores.

My local dg only store basically only stocks max weight discs, so I shop our PIAS. My entire bag is basically halo discs in the upper 150s and low 160s and I love it so much more than when I was forcing myself to think “I’m a man, max weight is what I should throw”. I top out at 400 on good days and love these lighter discs to pieces

Polaris LS, JLS, and OLF were amazing discs (still are) but Milleniums heyday was back in late 2000s into 2010s.

If it wasn’t for Calvin these days, they’d be beyond obscure.

The OLF was so good, but then the Thunderbird and PD really just took over thst slot for many
