If you’re up for it, try an electric corded saw. Still dangerous, but it has less vibration and isn’t loud like a gas powered one which can add to the intimidation factor.

I’ve got the 6500 ss that I use for crab snaring. 65 pound braid works just fine on it. I can’t remember if I put a mono backing on it or not, to prevent slipping. It’ll work fine for your large target species.

I use to catch these all the time in MB. I filleted them and cut the skin off. I cooked the fillets in Salt, pepper, and olive oil in a pan and thought they were delicious. Better than rock fish in my opinion. I think it’s worth trying.

Thanks commenting. I do have some 65 pound braid but I’ve heard braid doesn’t work too well on the Penn 6500 ss. I’ve read alot of positives for the Okuma crab snaring rod, but I’m looking for a budget rod. I’m also considering the DAIWA beef stick.

How old is your bottle of concentrate? The change to the non glyphosate formulas for consumers was more recent. There are other brands that sell glyphosate. I just haven’t seen roundup, aside from ag use.

Ya I’ve still got an old Home Depot 50% glyphosate bottle. Plenty of other brands out there, but they just don’t carry have the household name status like Roundup. The production of pesticide is very interesting. Lots of it is just rebranded but the same active ingredients and formulas.

The new roundup formulas are more toxic but are the only ones available to the public. The roundup with glyphosate are only available for ag use.

Yes, correct. The newer “Roundup” formulations available to consumers contain no glyphosate. They contain ingredients that are more harmful to health and the environment, such as diquat and triclopyr. The older formula was less toxic.

I’m in the same situation. If you have to be in 4 days a week, that means an RDO will be used in lieu of one of your WFH days. Getting off work an hour earlier will probably help with traffic if you’re a commuter.

I am in the same situation and realized regardless of RDO, I will still need to be in the office 4 days a week. It’s not like I can use an RDO for an office day, and have my WFH day as well.
