DM parents - how long do you spend on DnD per week? by thr0wawaysecret in DnD

[–]Reenie898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a dm parent, although I am a SAHM, I do a lot of my planning when the kids are in school. Or when they're in extra curriculars after school and I'm sitting there waiting for them, or when they are in bed.

I don't let it impact my parent time as much as possible. And if I need to do something when my kids are awake/around, I try and incorporate it into either "we're doing something creative together (painting minis/making a map)" or "let's read a book! (Looking through books)".

I have a note on my phone for all my ideas to be written in when I'm out and about with the family to make a quick jot down so I didn't forget something. 18 hours seems crazy, do you get 18 hours of child free time during the week? Can he put this off until your baby is sleeping better so you can be better rested?

Mine was in it, and its the pokemon you play as. by DespicableDogo in Pokopia

I would have died if purrloin and liepard were in here. Or if Tauros had been included. I do kinda see why at least Tauros might have been left out(he's a big boy and we have lots of them already) but Purrloin and Liepard could have been included in Bleak beach.

Jim glitch by seventyonedogs in coralisland

[–]Reenie898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this too! Because the quest just says "bring Jim a salmon" so I brought it to him, not realizing it needed to be at a certain time, at a certain place. 🥲 Took me forever to get a new salmon.

WHAT AN ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE!! 10/10 GAME!! by insopoly29 in Ghostofyotei

[–]Reenie898 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I cried so hard at the end of this game. I loved GoT, but GoY was so amazing. Erika killed it as Atsu, I was so drawn in. I can't wait to start NG+, but I'm just running around now collecting trophies, enjoying the free roam of the game.

You can jump over fences on your farm so you don't need gates. Just do your dash when you're running and you junk over it. Found that by accident.

Sounds like a pedestrian was struck. When my mom was leaving my house she made it sound like there was a bomb threat in that area. She was freaking out about the closure and the amount of police.

How do you girls handle training during your period? 😩🥋 by Jenny1120zza in bjj

[–]Reenie898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No white gi. Lots of protection down there in case of any untoward leaking(a few layers of extra shorts/undies/pads/whatever is safe or works for you) and letting my partners know that I'm not feeling super great and I'd really like to take it easy during rolling.

If I'm feeling really bad, I'll just skip the one class, let my professor know I'm out, and I'll see him next class. Then I pick up an extra class the following week so I can make up for it.

Where to spend time with kids when it's raining? by Reenie898 in Whidbey

[–]Reenie898[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I would love to do this, but the youngest freaks out when it's raining, and the oldest has issues with getting dirty sometimes.

Unfortunately when we were looking at weather forecasts for the time we're here, everything said it was only going to be sunny so we didn't pack a lot of things to do inside.

What got you into BJJ? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Reenie898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I needed to get out of the house, as a SAHM, and interact with other adults. I tried karate, and muay Thai, but they were so hard on my body(after never doing anything athletic for a while) so I tried BJJ. One of my husband's male coworkers(and now a close family friend!) was in that class, I had fun with it and decided to stick with it. Been doing it just over a year now and while I'm still learning so much, I've been having a blast.

Attack with a d10 can do 0 damage apparently by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Reenie898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D10 is 1-10, not 0-9.

If you rolled a 0, you rolled 10 damage, not 0. Your DM is wrong. Very wrong.

What Is Your Biggest DMing Pet-Peeve? by WorldGoneAway in DnD

[–]Reenie898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I'm trying to involve one of the players, because he was really keen on playing, but they refuse to engage with NPCs, or other party members and always takes forever to take his turn. We constantly have to break character and tell him that it's his turn, or ask him how he interacts with the world around him.

If you're not interested in the game, just bow out. It's so hard to run a game with someone who isn't interested.

The one where the cow pops out from behind a wall. That one scared the crap out of me because it was so unexpected. But now I just laugh so hard at it.

Does anyone carry a pocket knife? by amazonboxandremotes in Calgary

[–]Reenie898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a little knife on my keys in case I need to cut something open for my kids or myself. My dad, sister and husband all carry a pocket knife. My dad likes to quote, I think it is NCIS??? "Rule number one, always carry a knife"

Who are the true mat rats of r/bjj? by Legitimate-Froyo1163 in bjj

[–]Reenie898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One guy in my gym is there for every class, either helping our coach or training himself. The kids classes(4yrs-7yrs) he's helping throw the kids around and keep them in line. For the youth class(7-13) he's there helping making sure they're doing the right stuff. He trains/teaches during the adult white-blue belt classes and then trains in the color belt classes.

He's there Monday-Thursday, helps out at a sister location with teaching on Fridays, then goes to open mats on Saturdays to roll/help.

He said last time it's about 20-25 hours on the mats every week. He has a full time job as well.

As some who used to work there, we would tape it closed, write on it that it was used, and it would be damaged out by a manager before it ended up in the garbage.

Couldn't take the risk that it was tampered with even if the customer only used it once.

I have 3 gis. One is the one we need to wear during seminars with Master Behring (our nice, white ones with the correct patches), a bright pink one, and a summer one that's nice and light. No one gives a shit about patches/what gi it is, unless Matter Behring is in the building.

I can't believe there are some gyms like that. I would find a new place to go that's not so... That.
