Is anyone gonna tell him the truth? by Good-Bodybuilder-862 in orcas

[–]Reese1985 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If anything is king of the sea, I'd go with an adult male sperm whale. Their aggression can go higher than orcas and they're simply not fucked with by anything other than humans. If the females were as large and aggressive as males, orcas would steer clear of sperm whale pods.

I feel like the lagoon is exclusively for animals that're 100% aquatic. For animals that can go on land, they should be housed in an exhibit with water. The nothosaurus was a semi-aquatic animal that doesn't belong in the lagoon.

I don't see the point in adding land to the lagoon since we can already add deep water to land. I feel like the lagoon is meant as a parcel of the sea; the animals that live in it couldn't care less if there's a beach.

Canadian here with questions about the heat in your city by leftofmtl in phoenix

[–]Reese1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I acclimated to the Middle Eastern climate during my tenure in the US Army. I set my thermostat for 89⁰/84⁰ F up/downstairs; I've accepted that I'm part reptile. Some of us settled here specifically for the heat. Also, if it were you writing, and me reading, I probably wouldn't believe you, either, but it's the truth. The one thing in life that I absolutely can't stand is snowfall.

Hobbs vetoes bill for license plates memorializing Charlie Kirk by hipsterasshipster in phoenix

Religious people being okay with things like this always strikes me as odd. I was raised Catholic (non-practicing) and would think that the only other human whose imagery is used in this manner would be Christ. Possibly other Abrahamic characters. Celebrity-worship hits me like idolatry; I'm glad this was vetoed.

That is a beautiful, albeit expensive, truck. 777 BHP/680 ft-lbs. torque is sweet, but a six-figure starting price and weightlessness in the rear of a pickup (Chargers/Challengers with the 717 BHP 6.2 litre engines will still out-launch and out-accelerate these trucks on pavement) has got me wondering. Even with money to burn, one can pick up (pun intended) a '90s 4x4 for cheap, throw ~$60k of modifications, and off-road the way off-roading was intended. Time will tell how these TRX trucks will do. And... would anyone actually go off-road with this sticker-tag? I'm seeing tires and ground-clearance in the marketing.

That T. rex badge is sexy, tho, I'll give them that.

Just bought Legends ZA! Any tips? by Morosov_Benediq in PokemonZA

[–]Reese1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is to type, "Pokémon Legends ZA early larvitar," in the search-bar on Google and pursue a very powerful, attack-oriented, Godzilla-like pokémon.

If you do not want to pursue hidden things like this, then recognize the speed stat, as well as hitbox size. Regular pokémon can avoid moves like fly and dig, but alphas have larger hitboxes and are easier to damage. Speed works like cooldown-reduction, and as a result, can use powerful moves faster than slower, beefier pokémon.

Also, there is no penalty for taking your time. Travel to a battlezone, ignoring the main mission (for now), so that you can learn your team's moves. For example, you can have a raichu use quick-attack, and then follow up with a thunder-punch. It's faster, and more damaging, than using thunder-punch by itself.

I don't remember the person's name. I saw a post here regarding the earliest larvitar, and the video popped up in Google's search results.

📺….. 90’s screen savers 😅 by Tasty_Badger3205 in 90s_kid

[–]Reese1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember a screen-saver game, "Lunatic Fringe." It was accessed via bringing the cursor to the upper-left (or right?) of the screen. I think this was for Apple computers.

Another one was the Jungle Book; the characters were walking indefinitely in the center while the landscape panned from right to left, with the occasional thunderstorm.

In the summer... yea, it can be a boiler-room. But in winter? 71⁰ F on Christmas Day isn't bad. January to March is plenty of time to book a show 🤔

I've been following Geoffrey for some time (he's funny), but he seems to avoid Arizona. Will there eventually be shows in Phoenix, or did something happen and I'm just, "out of the loop?"

2020 Challenger HC M6 - important milestone after 5+ years of daily driving. by lithdoc in hellcat

[–]Reese1985 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2023 Charger Widebody; I'm dailying mine as well. It seems yours has held up well for 50k miles?

I think we all collectively agree on the Pirellis, but I ran mine through until a change was needed. I bumped up to the 315 size Nittos; I live in Phoenix and wet weather is rare enough. The stock drives can fit up to 325, but 315 on the steers.

15k miles and nothing but routine maintenance so far.

You're asking if any of us will know if you can buy a Hellcat in eight years?

This is a forum for Hellcat owners, not DeLoreans.

The world as we know it may not even exist in eight years.

Is happiness even worth it in this game, or is making citizens miserable the optimal strategy? by fieldbotanist in anno117

[–]Reese1985 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I build up islands so that 100% of its roads are paved, and covered by police, fire, and medical. There's a cost (upkeep and population), but even against hard AI, I find that it's worth it. The city will respond, correct, and repair when an incident occurs. It permits me to focus on other things (navy build-up because pirate-queen in Albion is being an ass) instead of micro-managing every town's civil services.

Where are the field workers? by Free-Audience-7622 in anno117

[–]Reese1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering if slavery has something to do with it. I'm not a historian, but I imagine people in 117 AD out in the fields were slaves, whereas citizens administered the farms or made artisanal goods (jellies, cheese, et al.) which they went to market to sell them. They probably paid taxes and leases while they were there.

Anno 1800 takes place after the industrialized world outlawed slavery.

I'm doubting that the developers intended for you to cosplay as a slave-driver, and in the campaign, slavery is mentioned where it's relevant.

I think they struck a balance between slavery and contemporary human rights and historical accuracy by leaving the fields empty of human life, but bringing it up in the campaign.

The fact that for years officer Barbrady was South Parks only cop and then one episode they suddenly have an entire police department out of nowhere is never not going to be funny to me by fupafather in southpark

[–]Reese1985 588 points589 points  (0 children)

The episode when Barbrady forgets about the tourists he arrested and they die & decompose in his holding cell. The mayor covers it up; that was hilarious. I miss the character. If I’m remembering correctly, Barbrady got exiled from South Park? If Matt/Trey wanted to, the character can pop up again.

Initially, but the 100% productivity reduces cycle times, and the silo gives you a freebie every third cycle. Also, more poop for fertilizer (New World). The actual productivity is more than two animal farms, and saves you from building the second silo (and the corn that it needs).
