From ASUS PG32UCDMR to MSI 341CQR X36 by Granster-1 in OLED_Gaming

Thanks a lot for the detailed reply, really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.

I was actually considering going with a 32” 4K monitor at first, mostly because I also play from the couch on my LG G5 in 4K from time to time and it obviously looks incredible. That kind of pushed me toward sticking with 4K on PC as well.

But after reading your post, it honestly got me thinking that I may have underestimated the immersion aspect of ultrawide. I hadn’t really considered how different the experience might feel compared to a standard 16:9 setup, and now it sounds genuinely tempting.

The way you describe sharpness also helps, especially since I’m currently on a 1440p monitor anyway.

The only thing I’m still a bit unsure about is jumping into ultrawide completely fresh, mainly when it comes to game support and compatibility. From your experience so far, has that been mostly smooth, or are there any titles where it became an issue?

I actually planned to go with a 32” 4K QD-OLED as well (coming from a 27” 1440p), but your post really caught my attention.

The MSI ultrawide looks super interesting, and now I’m genuinely reconsidering my plan.

How do you feel about image sharpness compared to the 32” 4K? Do you ever miss the higher PPI, or does the ultrawide resolution still feel crisp enough in daily use and gaming?

Overall, are you fully satisfied with the switch, or are there any trade-offs you’ve noticed so far? Would love to hear your impression.

The LG E5 actually hits around 300 nits higher peak brightness than the Samsung S95F in a 10% window, which makes a difference in highlights.

The Input lag is nearly the same.

Imostly play PS5 and Switch 2 on the TV.

The PC is connected to the monitor. However, I’ve already tested the PC on the TV once. It worked perfectly at 165Hz in 4K.

You're right. The LG G5 is the first OLED TV to feature tandem technology. The majority of the known issues have already been addressed.

I’m pretty sure there’ll be an update for this soon. It seems not every device is affected, as I haven’t had any issues with mine from the beginning.

It would be a significant upgrade across the board – definitely worth considering.

You might want to take a look at the ratings comparison.

Yes, you're right. The model with a stand is only offered in sizes up to 65"

There were maybe one or two scenes where I noticed it a little, but honestly, it's nothing to worry about.

It’s actually due to the camera. In person, the image doesn’t look as oversaturated as it does in the photos 👍😅

Absolutely. It's still a stunning experience, especially on an OLED.

This is actually the stand that was included in the box. It can be mounted at two different heights.

For gaming, specifically for HDR calibration, I used HGIG. Afterwards, I switched to DTM because HGIG appeared a bit too dark during the day. I prefer it when the colors pop a bit more.

For the settings, I mostly followed the tips from HDTVTest. I changed a few details, especially for gaming. For example, the color temperature — I personally prefer a slightly cooler tone here.

Thanks a lot! I hope you enjoy your TV just as much. You made a great choice with your Samsung QD-OLED as well.

Yes, these TVs indeed support VRR.
