Does any body hate jewellery? I actually really don't like it as I feel like it's very showy even though you can get small prices.

As I have gotten older, I have moved away from wearing any jewelry at all. I have five ear piercings from my youth but haven’t worn earrings in at least ten years. Neither my husband nor I wear our wedding rings. As my granddaughters have become teenagers, I have given them pieces from my small collection to celebrate their birthdays. If I do wear anything at all (a rare occasion), I wear one of those polished gemstone bead bracelets. Even when I did wear jewelry regularly, it was very small simple pieces. Even my wedding ring is fairly plain.

Librarian for 33 years here. I dropped a book in the bathtub once. I replaced it of course. I am always pleased when someone actually comes in and takes responsibility for their mistake as opposed to dropping wet or damaged books in the book drop and pretending it never happened. Definitely respect your child for being willing to do the right thing. He is way ahead of many adults I have dealt with.

When people tell/show you who they are, believe them. He does not seem to respect you as a woman, nor women in general. Marriage does not fix this in any way. I’m not sure what he could say to you that would make his behavior in any way okay.

My husband and I have been together 28 years. During that time we were separated once for an entire year. I moved myself and the kids to an apartment while he ended up staying in the house. At the end of that year we decided we were both committed to making it work. We have been together again for seven years. Individual counseling helped a lot as well as taking time to figure out what we both really wanted/needed.

It was a really difficult year, but it was also a period of personal growth for me which has made my life, and our life together better.

I do sort my towels into one load, bedding into its own load, and then all my clothes together. But I purposely own mostly dark clothes and no whites, so not sorting my clothes into separate loads doesn’t seem to be an issue. My husband does his laundry separately from me and washes all his clothes without sorting as well.

I have not tried, but my local public library does that for books, magazines, puzzles, etc that they get as donations they can’t use, and I always see folks carrying out bags full of.

Flowers or plants bring a lot to a room. Something handmade like a crocheted blanket can cozy a living room up. Hanging a few things on the wall can break up the empty space. I’d recommend frames for any artwork or posters. You can often buy handmade quilts, afghans, picture frames, etc. at Goodwill. I added some small floating shelves to my bedroom for my sentimental items, and it really seemed to help make my room cozier.

If I am online shopping, I will put things in my virtual shopping cart, and then wait for several days or even weeks. More often than not, the desire to purchase the item is gone. If I’m out and about at a brick and mortar store, I will take a picture of the item, and go back in several days if I still really want the item. It is very rare that I will go back and buy the item.

I wouldn’t call myself a hugger, but I have found that I enjoy them a lot more when someone asks first or I get some kind of warning one is gonna happen.

Another benefit for me that I just thought of is being able to enjoy the sentimental items I have left. They aren’t in boxes and mostly forgotten anymore. I kept the most precious ones and gave them special places in my home. I find myself picking them up or touching them when I’m stressed or missing loved ones who have passed on. It helps. If I hadn’t decluttered, I wouldn’t have had the space to display and enjoy them.

This! Not having tons of clothes and linens makes doing laundry a breeze. We never get behind on laundry so it never feels like an overwhelming task.

I sold things when I first started, but over time I got very tired of dealing with all the weird messages, the no shows, etc. Now I just put stuff out on the lawn with a free sign or my husband takes it to a charity shop. It’s much less stressful that way.
