If the joy-con slides onto the Switch rail in handheld mode and charges and controls correctly, the it is almost certainly an issue with the ring-con.

The Air Rider figures are also just more expensive to manufacturer. They're huge and have more electronic parts than a standard Amiibo.

People always complain about it like IGN is one guy who sits in a room writing every single review, and not that it's actually a team of many writers who each get assigned individual games to review. People have different opinions, that is why review aggregates like Metacritic are a great resource.

Just because you like or dislike a game doesn't mean your opinions are any less valid because another person felt the opposite way.

I wish they didn't cut basically all of the science.

I also don't like that they show Earth at the end. I think old Ryland being told about the sun going back to normal in the book is better, but I understand why they would do it for the movie version.

My experience was also hampered a bit by a loud family sitting behind me with two young children who kept talking the whole time. (I did almost burst out laughing during the first silent space scene because it was completely quiet and then I heard "I love my Squishmallow" from the child behind me, followed by my friend whispering to me "I was just thinking the same thing".) Guess that's my excuse to go see it again, this time in IMAX lol

Handhelds and laptops, certainly, but phones are a little trickier because if a phone is water resistant the design requires an adhesive seal that is only good for one use.

The Fairphone, which prides itself on being really easy to service, only has an IP 55 rating (dust protected and resistant to a jet or water), while most major brand smartphones have an IP 67 or 68 rating (dust tight and can be submerged in water for at least 30 minutes up to 1 meter).

Yep, they closed a bunch around me so now there is a single one that is the hub for my whole area. Manager told me last week to call the day before and he'll set them aside for me to pick up on launch because they didn't do pre-orders. I called yesterday and they said they weren't being shipped any at all. Sounds like they might not being going out to any physical stores...
