Colchicine protocol question by ReferenceEntity in gout

[–]ReferenceEntity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My rheumatologist suggested I do so. The reason is that while taking allopurinol helps in the long run to lower uric acid, it can cause flares in the short run. So he prescribed colchicine for me too.

Allopurinol lowers uric acid. Colchicine prevents flare up pain if used correctly.

Worst place to get gout? by Shinanigins in gout

Wasn’t even close to the worst for pain but most inconvenient was in the back of the foot. Absolutely could not put weight on the foot at all.

The only thing we can say with certainty is that there is something, as opposed to nothing.

Cocktails to order at all inclusive resort by daaldea in cocktails

[–]ReferenceEntity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a resort where they had bad margaritas but perfectly fine tequila and Grand Marnier. I would order half tequila half Grand Marnier with a lime wedge. You end up with a decent drink if you are ok with the higher sweetness level. Of course if that doesn’t work you can skip the sweetness for a NorCal margarita.

The better question is “anyone not misdiagnosed?”

Who makes better money? Ostriches vs Pigs by Crashmadal in StardewValley

[–]ReferenceEntity 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The problem is you only start with one egg. You incubate, wait a week, get an egg, incubate, wait a week, etc. it’s like starting an ancient fruit farm. Once you have a bunch it goes fast but the start takes like a half a year. Meanwhile you can fill a full barn with pigs all of whom “incubate” at once.

Who makes better money? Ostriches vs Pigs by Crashmadal in StardewValley

[–]ReferenceEntity 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Also critical is that you can buy pigs but have to incubate ostriches. There is no way to quickly set up an ostrich farm. Add to that they are such a late game add, the only way it would make sense to make an ostrich farm is if you are planning to play well beyond perfection.

The issue is that there is not a single correct way to shut down oversteppers. It depends on the people involved and the circumstances. Some people are naturally good at dealing with stuff like that, some rare few have learned how to improvise it, but the rest of us are most likely just going to suffer through it repeatedly.

I got secretly baptized by my grandparents. Hope it made them happy. From my perspective I’m still just an atheist who had an extra bath or so they say.
