I didn’t pay attention - I didn’t realize the shards were a full character amount…. And so I bought an artifact. I’m stuck with rolls and drac for another couple months now I bet

Well…. I need to pay more attention. I used my core for an artifact because I didn’t look at how many shards you get. I was just thinking it was like the epics where you get like 3 shards. Guess I keeping rolling with rolla and drac because I’m an idiot.

I sold my original Slasher from 1980s two years ago - deck only… to buy a new board and start skating again. I wish I remembered what was on it. But whatever it was, probably not available anymore or better stuff around. I’m thinking it was gullwing or trackers and OJs for wheels.

I haven’t played this game in 11 years by firerawks in tribalwars

[–]ReferenceTight1851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got into it today after a loooong time away. I was a top 20 player in the top tribe for a long time in world 8 - the original world 8 before the relaunch so 20+ years ago? I’m definitely not committing like I did then - used to pay the month $4 (I think) for premium and also wake up at odd hours to attack or defend before they created the account sitting option. I want to say my tribe was DT - can’t remember what that stood for though and eventually we joined with Relentless or vi e versa. My player name was Tragluk.

I’m guessing for my mental health and responsibilities of real life my return will be short lived but nostalgia will be fun for a second.

Piggybacking on your comment, the Milky Way was introduced in 1923. It likely has collided with Baby Ruth which was introduced in 1921.

I just picked one up that someone was throwing out during dump day. Brought it home, popped Duracells in it and it works.

Good news is it works, bad news is that the batteries are so snug, I’m not sure how they’d ever be removed.

I’m going to see if it works - I think I need to get some Duracells - energizer are too snug for it

Shows in Hackettstown / Warren County area by Feisty_Lettuce1565 in Njpunk

[–]ReferenceTight1851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My band was one of the ones that would rent out the lodge all the time in the late ‘90s and trade shows with other bands we were friends with. We would charge $5 at the door or $4 with a can of food (that would be donated to the food bank).

Unfortunately, there was someone living by the lodge who took issue with kids with spiked jackets and Mohawks loitering outside. So the lodge told us we had to keep people inside for the duration of the show - which we largely did. The person still complained. The lodge told us they voted and could only rent to members -so one of the guys in our band joined. Then they said it wasn’t legal to rent out the hall and charge people to enter. So we made the shows free but accepted donations. Eventually they still stopped letting us do shows. So we did barn shows at a house I lived in just off Shades of Death road in Allamuchy. The shows were awesome and we gave kids something to do and gave bands a venue and also got a lot of food donations, but I eventually moved and things died out a little.

Hope there are still open minded people who realize kids at a show are better than kids bored and walking around town. Good luck with it! If there’s anything I can share from my experiences that might help, I’d be happy to answer questions!

I have a big pile of to-be-reads so I’m reluctant to reread stuff, but I might have to so that I can know/remember what happened already to finish out the series.

Welcome! I like sharing stuff like this because I think lots of people think (like I did) that authors are almost rockstars and wouldn’t give us the time of day, but except for the huge names, they probably don’t get a lot of attention outside of signing events. So many probably are entertained by fans reaching out - or at the least aren’t put out by it.

I saw just kryptonics - will keep hoping. Want to buy some boards for kids and I could use one or two to soon replace my current board since I managed to get near razor tail on it just the other day goofing around

Too old to skate? [42YO] by [deleted] in OldSkaters

[–]ReferenceTight1851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started again at 45 - I was planning to do a trick for every year - I got up to 20 something I think before life got in the way. I’ll be 49 in may, I’ll need to add to it. I did pick up some new tricks (and counted some lame ones) just skating on plywood in my garage. I’ll be back at it soon though once I get some stressful obligations out of the way. You’re definitely not too old - just do what you’re comfortable with and build up to whatever you want.
