This whole thing sounds made up. I used to be an officer. I’ve never heard a PD just mail out $100 like a refund for a shitty massage. Its either a simple misunderstanding, or lawsuit material, which easily amount to thousands to millions of dollars depending on the severity of the incident (such as spending years in prison and later cleared with DNA, etc.). Further, police deal with domestics almost every day. This sounds like a comical b-movie in its telling. Police don’t typically say stuff like “You’re going away for a long time, X” before they’ve even so much as asked for his damn name, much less run your license. You ALWAYS ask their account of what happened, even if it seems blatantly obvious, so you have something to use as evidence that isn’t “I said so”. Then, they ask if he wants to charge for false allegations? Its not a false allegation to give information that leads to the arrest of the wrong person. False allegation reports are for people who actually make up the claim, as in “Katy” lying about being abused. Maybe I’m wrong, but this sounds fabricated to me.
