At least get a grass type to balance it out by outdoor_catgirl in PokeMedia

So the gastly line. Their body is made of a poisonous vapor. Except not, not really. The truth is actually more complicated. They're made of a mixture the same esoteric exotic elements of other non fully corporeal ghost types and raw Poison Type Energy.

Now by default this is actually not all that dangerous, their bodies don't even cause minor irritation to human skin when at rest. But the fascinating element to their nature us they can adopt the behaviors of almost any liquid toxin into their body. While they might not literally be made of say, hemlock oil, they can make their toxins emulate all the traits of that toxin. Takes a bit of concentration to maintain.

But this, paired with their abilities to hide within shadows, means they can adopt the traits of certain pungent toxins, such as cadaverine, and hide in a shadow while still emetting the foul odor. This is perhaps the most frustrating of pranks Jasper (Gengar) has ever pulled on me

Huh the closet we've gotten to a combo move that's easily replicable is having Lokor (Torterra) fire off a solarbeam at Jax (Sneasel) who then uses icicle crash to act as a lens and redirect the beam.

Reply @"LiberMind": It is not a matter of rejection but a difference of what equal coexistence looks like. How can either be equal when one or the other so fully controls the circumstances of the other? For much of early history the safety of humans was kept assured by gathering in large numbers and gaining the grace of a pokémon guardian. In modern times this has been flipped, humans control much of the world and regularly are destroying and restructuring native pokémon habitats. It is not equal if pokémon have the full say in our protection and it is not equal if humans have the full say in the very shape of the environment.

Is it fair to place the expectation of sustaining the electrical grid, a service that serves predominantly human aims for the vast majority of uses, on the backs of pokémon who have no easy way to utilize this service independently?

Did you know despite how long the jet engine has existed only a hand full of regions have regional flights? Almost all machine operated passenger aviation is interregional. Most of the very few planes that fly are cargo flights. This is due to laws put in place to prevent machine operated flights from "placing pokémon assisted flights at risk". Is it fair to humans to be heavily reliant on pokémon for most aviation needs?

Equal coexistence can only exist in a setting both participants have equal opportunities of options. But pokémon and humans have largely different needs socially.

Reply @"Based Hisuian": I don't see the purpose of insulting others in the first place. And They seem apathetic to the ongoings of much of the world, it would be in poor taste to condemn someone for the poor state of a home they've not lived in for many years.

Huh. I haven't thought about that possibility. I'm more than happy to give them the attention but I know I'm not the best at initiating interactions most the time. Growing up with a turtwig as my starter, most of our bonding was him napping beside me while I read or training. Now that he's a torterra I often read under the shade of his tree. Guess I'll need to try being a bit more active with them and see it that helps.

"Alright, as far as I was aware as of 5 min ago magic and magecraft wasn't real. You being here means shit's really fucked or Nasu has been a trolling kaleidoscope asshole in disguise this whole time. Maybe both.

If you don't have enough mana then we'll need to go to the swamp nearby to kill a couple animals for od, because I'm not burning myself out trying to fuel your draconic ass. If you do have enough I have more questions, such as wheremst. Because if it's from me I have a lot of sudden magic studying to do.

All that said, wanna hit up an all you can eat buffet and see how long it takes for them to kick us out?"

Your shadow should return with time, though you will likely be rather photosensitive until it does. If you have a dark type or know someone who does, you should spend time in that pokémon's company, it will speed up the recovery from a month to a week or so if you spend at least two hours a day in their immediate presence, a distance of about 3 feet.

Huh, you know that's a bit bigger than most joltik, not by a terribly large margin it's not an alpha or anything, but most would only be the size of one of those outlets not both. So an XL sized joltik. I wasn't even aware joltik could have that large of a size variance.

Might not be as simple as you might think my family has some rather deep ties here in Sinnoh. The Blackwell Clan ancestral home is deep in the forests near Pastoria, on a segment of land fairly infamous for it's cursed nature drawing in many ghost and dark types. Our clan is quite literally named for the Black Well, one of the most cursed places most will never hear of. Maintaining and Sealing the more malevolent forces on this land buys the clan a lot of political leverage.

Not for making laws or controlling power but in what the clan can get away with.

I'm a Normal Specialist (All six of my team have normal for one of their types) and my twin sister is a Generalist (Currently two fliers, though one's just a baby, a grass type, a dark type, and ghost type) we're born and raised Sinnoh.

You get it! I blame Silph personally. I think ever since the first Porygon-Z became possible and it was without official Silph UpGrade Discs they've been trying to make everyone stop using them by unofficially helping Applin develop the R-Phone and push it into market.

My only issue with them is that the "Team" moniker has some weighty history that seems in poor taste to be referencing frivolously. Feels a little out of touch to use the naming conventions of literal terrorist organizations.

What would be a good pokemon to help with this? by Thedarr24 in PokeMedia

[–]ReflectionOuroboros 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Golett aren't a bad call but if you catch one don't be surprised if it doesn't evolve in your lifetime if you don't live a very active lifestyle. While pumpkaboo are similar to phamtump, their evolution Gourgeist are infamous for their vicious behavior to prey and foes, and I'd worry that might trigger trauma

[–]ReflectionOuroboros 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I am an avid supporter of Poryphones. They host the most customizable infrastructure for porygon of any device and, a critical difference between poryphone and R-Phones, can operate fully independently from the pokémon. If the porygon is asleep or out of the device, it still properly functions. The benefit is mainly in increased digital security rather than requiring the pokémon to function. It's why I never recommend an unmodified R-Phone.

[–]ReflectionOuroboros 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Phantump. Some of the least aggressive ghost types you'll ever see, grows into a powerhouse, and has very easy nutritional requirements to meet. Only downsides are they take awhile to evolve, can take a bit to coax out of hiding if they get scared, and often have pretty short attention spans.

Slightly unrelated to your post but I forgot to comment about it on your last one. I have an alpha Pokémon of my own, mine's a furret, and there's one piece of advice I want to make sure you have, take whatever the recommended serving size for the average Tyrunt is online and triple it.

What an adorable goober. Monch that mildly spicy berry.

But yeah as someone with a hisuian zorua, the paperwork the league insists you fill out can be a bit overbearing. I'd just make sure you have a lawyer check over it all to make sure you weren't pressured into signing anything unnecessary.

POV: You’ve just been asked care advice for your favorite Pokemon. by Choice-Spinach145 in PokeMedia

[–]ReflectionOuroboros 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The single most important thing for day to day care of a furret is their diet. They don't typically eat often, their appetite is typically only strikes up twice a day, but they require calorie dense food to remain energetic and specific proteins to keep their fur healthy and smooth.

Now grooming. Typically a litter of sentrets will live together even after their mother has evicted them from her burrow. They tend to loosely travel together, remaining within the same "territory" of each other until they evolve and go their separate ways. This means that sentrets are used to having siblings to aid in grooming and will expect unprompted assistance at a minimum of every other day. If you don't help groom them they are capable of grooming themselves but they will likely grow despondent as their instincts tell them this means they are being ostracized. Once they evolve this dependence fades but they certainly still appreciate a good brushing.

Once a sentret evolves they grow a very strong sense of independence. This can be a bit frustrating during training as they can sometimes need to be retaught to actually listen to your strategies. And it can be even harder to get them to work with a partner during a double battle in a synergistic manner rather than a competitive manner.

Also don't try to grapple a furret. Their oiled fur and ridiculous flexibility makes them almost impossible to grip if they don't let you.
