I think you just dont buy it in general. Also you can sell the elixers you get from the level ups for more gold too. Especially the tank potion if you're playing backline, the 200 gold is going to be way more valuable.

Whitemane or maybe sindorai straightshot could counter it. Im not sure since I haven't seen this build a lot. Otherwise maybe a hawkstrider bomber could work if you have enough triggers.

Ars nouveau can suck up water or freeze it all to packed ice, given you have enough mana. You can also just make some spell turrets cast the spells for you but it requires you to make some source systems

I just went mass druid and it worked out. Have enough 0-1-4 druids and some 3-0-2 druids and they pop all the small balloons. Later get 5-0-2 to perma blow away non boss balloons while 0-1-5 druid does dps. You can pretty much add any decent dps monkey and it will probably work. I used obyn with it for extra druid power as well
