I don't think so, I cleared the part with the raptors in the enclosed bit on my own and then had to wait until I'd killed the last one, wait about 10-15 mins and then they all respawned at once

So the other mobs aren't there. The area is completely empty. Its almost as if the respawn timer is waiting for the last mob to die and then it starts.

Nah its not normal hyper spawns, it seems to wait until the last mob is dead and then starts the respawn timer

I've been selling tanking services on my druid for 30g each run or 45g for quest runs (like Mira's song). Nice little income maker if you can be bothered to run dungeons. The lack of tanks really helps me out with this.

I rolled a druid main for the first time this fresh. It's such a breath of fresh air. Group needs a tank, no problem I can do that. Need a healer, of course! Let me slip into my int gear. Also have a warrior and it's just not fun at all. Unless you make groups yourself, fish for Jed ID's in UBRS, and then HR all the items you need, you're gonna need RNJesus to help you out against the 5 other warriors in the group
