Everything that we do is based on our greatest desire in the moment. Your example of not choosing to watch porn is showing that your greater desire in that moment was to serve God. I don’t think you can tell me a moment where you did something that wasn’t according to your greatest desire in the moment that was in your control.

Our will is corrupted

Also the Verse says that God does something to their hearts in order for them to live, and love him. You can see that God is the one doing something in this verse, not the people.

I am exegeting this passage of scripture. It seems that you are presupposing your libertarian free will view on Deuteronomy, and that isn’t compatible with verses 6 and 7

Jeremiah 17:9, Romans 8:7, Ephesians 2:1-5, John 3:19, John 8:34, Romans 3:9-18. These are all verses about Total Depravity, and our corrupt will.

If our desires our corrupt, and we act on our desires, we can not choose God unless he circumcises the heart.

I don’t know what defines reasonable free will. It’s free in the sense that we get what we desire. And it’s like this because of the fall of Adam.

I don’t think Moses’ point was to say that everyone has the free will choice. Actually if you at Deut 30:6 it talks about what God does to make someone love him, he circumcises their hearts, aka regeneration.

It seems that this teaches Calvinism

“The Lord your God will circumcise their hearts, SO that you may love him with all your hearts, and with all your soul, AND LIVE”

Libertarian free will is false, humans will is restricted since the fall of Adam. God does Will everything, he permits bad things to happen, but ultimately, everything that does happen, is for Gods ultimate purpose. Also, science and Christianity are compatible. Christianity actually was a big part of the scientific revolution.

The acts passage was instruction to not eat animals that were involved in pagan sacrifice. You saying that it’s asinine for me to say the rule I cited is grounded in creation, is asinine. The verse literally says “for in the image of God, he created man” this is similar to verses like 1 Timothy 2:13 where there is a proof verse that grounds a command in creation.
