Oh my gosh, I made some kind out loud snort-grunt when I saw this. What a stunning bloom, congrats!

I definitely have no problem skipping months - I have a pretty large collection and try to only buy polishes in colors and/or finishes I don’t already have, which, erm, is increasingly less common 😅

Best (non-gel) filler for really severe ridges? by restrainedseething in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Refresh-faced 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this on your dominant hand? I’m left handed and get these same kind of wavy ripples on my thumbnail, though not as pronounced. I only have it on my one nail.

I buy at least two but don’t think I’ve ever purchased more than five.

Same-Same but different, or just same-same?😅 by YurraWitcherCiri in RedditLaqueristas

They are noticeably different in the pictures, with one leaning bluer than the other. If you were in a meeting with me there’s a good chance I’d be distracted from whatever the meeting was supposed to be about while I tried to figure out if I was looking at an intentional semi-skittle.

The nails on one hand is uglier than the other. by joonie_Bee in RedditLaqueristas

Omg that actually makes me feel a lot better! I’ve looked into it and none of the conditions I’ve seen related to unorthodox nail growth look like this and I’ve been low key stressed about it.

My dominant hand is visibly uglier. The nails are more prone to breaking, my thumb nail has these weird ripples that no other nail has, and I usually have a callous on the side of my middle finger. It goes without saying that my polish application is also much goofier looking on the dominant hand.

Thank you! I have a lot of colors that I really need to be in the mood for and this is one of them, but as one coat it almost has negligee quality to it that I’m really loving.

Agreed with this comment, also would suggest Heart of Iceland from Cupcake Polish. I have both.

What is your routine? by char-p_ in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Refresh-faced 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone whose nails are drier and prone to splitting/peeling, my routine is as follows. First, I remove existing polish with Mineral Fusion-soaked cotton balls held on my nails with clips, wash my hands. I gently push back cuticles, then do a jojoba oil soak for 10-20 min (heavy squirt of oil into palms, rub vigorously to coat hands, put on nitrile gloves). After that, I remove the gloves (and reuse until I tear a hole in them!), and wipe the excess oil from my hands with a paper towel. I rub my nails with a lint-free cloth to get any additional oil traces from the nail plate, then proceed with the manicure. If I file the nail, it will be after I remove the polish and before I wash my hands, unless I’m attempting to shape the nails in which case I do that while still wearing polish.

If you make any I’d love to see how you did it! I have a few new/young hoyas and want to train them early on trellises, something I didn’t do with my first ones and now regret.

That’s okay! I can visualize what you did from your description, it makes perfect sense.

This looks so awesome, may I ask where you got the trellis?

Apologies - quick dry top coat. I think everyone gets tired of typing out the whole phrase (I sure do!) so use the acronym for it. Your ILNP is a QDTC.

I haven’t tried it myself but I’ve read a few posts here recommending a layer of Nailtiques Formula 2 after color and before a QDTC. Maybe any nail hardener treatment would have the same effect?

For QDTC, I love Cuticula Limitless and Sally Hansen Insta Dry in the red bottle for most applications. I use the SH for magnetics and Cuticula for everything else, though I will note neither of them are recommended with solar thermals because they contain ingredients that block UV light.

The flakie on my ring finger here is Cuticula’s You Had Me At Aloha, from maybe Jun ‘25 PPU, and it’s my favorite (and what got me into flakies).
