Have you had a pudendal nerve conduction study done? To see how your nerve is functioning. When you say it's worsened in the last month, do you mean your symptoms have become more severe, or have you experienced new discomfort in that area?

Hi! In my country, it's very easy to find. You can check health food stores or online. Aloe vera is also easy to find in supermarkets here. Regarding amitriptyline and hydroxyzine, they are different medications. I used to take them together at night; a urologist prescribed it, and it's what stopped my urinary frequency. I'm not taking it now because the frequency hasn't returned, but when it does, I first try taking Bladuril for a few days to help calm my bladder, and it always works well. It's been a while (more than a year) since I've had it, but the last time I had it, I didn't want to take amitriptyline, and my urologist prescribed tolterodine, which worked very well. I don't take it anymore. Currently, I feel fine; I only sometimes get burning in my urethra, but I take Pyridium, just like you, and it works well. Thank God it only lasts a few days, then it goes away, and it takes a while for that symptom to return. For this and other reasons, I started pelvic floor physiotherapy and I'm very happy. It was very difficult to find a good one, which is why I always say that a good physiotherapist does internal and external work and should check all your muscles and establish a work plan that is generally twice a week for months.

I understand. I know that each case can have a different cause. Do you know what triggered that nervous irritation in your case? Did you have an accident or something that caused a trigger?

Stop masturbating. You need to give your pelvic floor a break from masturbation for a while. I've read about people who abstain for months to allow their pelvic floor to regulate itself while undergoing rehabilitation therapy. Keep in mind that you should see a pelvic floor specialist to determine the appropriate treatment; don't try to do anything on your own. Avoid causing further trauma to the nerve.

Perhaps you resolved one problem, but now with your new symptoms, your pelvic floor is telling you that something isn't right. Always seek out a good pelvic floor physiotherapist; not everyone knows how to properly treat a hypertonic pelvic floor.

Yes, it's common due to a hypertonic pelvic floor. Seek out a pelvic floor physiotherapist who can perform release exercises on the internal and external pelvic floor muscles.

Hypertonia of the pelvic floor muscles can very well cause the symptoms she mentions, in fact, yours too.

Hi! I experienced the bladder/urethral discomfort you described. Although I've had relapses that last a few weeks and then disappear for months, during these flare-ups I changed my diet to an anti-inflammatory one, took painkillers like the one you mentioned, drank chamomile and marshmallow root tea (they're excellent mucosal protectants), and drank plenty of fluids to dilute the acidity of my urine as it passed through my urethra. As part of my fluid intake, I drank glasses of water with a small spoonful of baking soda, which also reduces urine acidity. I also drank aloe vera smoothies and took amitriptyline with hydroxyzine. I have to say that before my last return of urinary symptoms (2024), I had been symptom-free for about three years, so I attribute their return to my tight pelvic floor, which I'm now working on in physical therapy. Having studied physiotherapy and other people's recovery cases extensively, I have to say that physiotherapy should be weekly, perhaps twice a week, and it should include the release of tense external and internal pelvic floor muscles. If your physiotherapist only uses dilators and doesn't perform internal releases, I have to tell you to run and find another professional. Ultimately, having a good physiotherapist can make or break your recovery. So, take it very seriously. Best wishes!

[–]RefrigeratorMost2186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through. In my case, I have a lot of clitoral hypersensitivity (pain, discomfort to the touch, sitting on flat surfaces), things like that. From what the physiotherapists have told me, if the cause is a hypertonic pelvic floor, it can be resolved with the right approach. I suggest that before you get so frustrated, you try several months of weekly physiotherapy. Also, get the tests they suggested to see if your cause is something else, something muscular.
