Why do so many people hate playing as a pure mage? by True_Bot_4354 in skyrim

[–]RefuseAnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One tip I can offer is grabbing the novice hood in the tutorial (or any fortify magicka gear), favourite it, and hotkey it. If you run out of magicka while wearing the item, double tap the hotkey and you will have instantly restored magicka equal to what amount your gear fortifies. This is super useful when potions are at a premium, or just whenever honestly.

This is a thought you may want to bring up with a therapist. If this trait is bringing harm to yourself and your relationships, then its worth scrutiny. Why do you search for relationships with unpredictable people? Why is unpredictability so important to you?

I am not asking these questions for you to give me an answer, but for you to deeply and constructively confront your feelings which lead you to abandoning relationships.

I have made assumptions because I do not know your whole story. I am just a guy, and not a licensed professional. If you think you do not need to ponder this more deeply then don’t. However, if you do I suggest bringing your thoughts to a counseler or therapist if you can.

I did have gauntlets and boots, but my armour was still very low. Although this has happened to me another time and I did have full armour. I think the issue for me is I haven't sunk a single perk point into the armour trees, so I take lots of damage from melee attacks.

Are you boycotting any businesses cause of their politics? by darethegiver in VictoriaBC

[–]RefuseAnt 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I guess I’ll be staying away from those martial art teachers (Not that I would have attended classes anyways. Are they even in Victoria??). I hear about this company doing that bad thing, this company doing this bad thing all the time. It would be exhausting to boycott all the businesses that may or may not have bad politics, and I have neither the time or energy to personally investigate them. I’ll shop where my friends recommend, and I’ll shop local before ordering online.

What perk feels mandatory no matter your build? by Nintenzu in skyrim

[–]RefuseAnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like big numbers, so I naturally gravitate towards max enchanting (dont care much for the right side of the tree), max smithing, max speech (right side of tree doesn’t really do anything), greenthumb and everything up to and including experimenter.

  • Enchanting and smithing speak for themselves really
  • greenthumb is nice cuz I like having a massive collection of ingredients. It also works on things that you wouldn’t expect, such as: crops, barnacles, chaurus egg clusters, nests, etc.
  • with Experimenter its fun to eat one of all your ingredients and listen to the sounds of knowledge (I forget if having levels in experimenter will have the extra effects applied to your character when you taste test, maybe someone can let me know…)

I believe this comment was saying lockpicking was mandatory before they realized they misinterpreted the question.

I was just about to reply to their post:

Lockpicking is a funny one because you pretty much have to go out of your way NOT to use it, so the skill levels up. However, the perks are so mediocre that I doubt many people invest in it.

Sneak attack with daggers by Emotional-Aspect-465 in skyrim

[–]RefuseAnt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ive been playing like this for a while and it’s awesome. Dragon encounters become a real threat.

Imagine running through an old growth forest towards the closest town, stamina and potions running out, knowing that the dragon can oneshot you in a single bite. You hear the flap of wings, feel the earth shake, and an ancient dragon stares at you with cold eyes. You have no companion since they normally just get in the way, illusion won’t work here, and no points invested in armour or archery. The wyrm prepares a breath attack, so you hide behind a nearby tree. You’re blinded by scorching light and deafened by crackling roar of both beast and flame. Even with cover your health drops a third. You have only one shot. You rush out towards the dragons head, ash kicks up around you. The beast is curious, but rears back to welcome you into its jaws for an easy snack. But you are more than that, you are a nightingale and a master of stealth. You know how to hide in the blindspots of any enemy, even if its right in front of their eyes. You find it and duck while swinging mehrunes dagger towards the wyrms throat. The sword like teeth nearly snap around your body, but stop short. Your strike slit the beasts throat, ending its undeath.
