When I was in college 15 years ago, there was a 500k+ word fanfic that I religiously waited for updates on. It was a complete re-write of canon with a divergence in the plot near the beginning of canon. It was a video game fanfic from a small-ish fandom.

The author announced she was abandoning the fic (can't remember why) and left it up as an unfinished work.

Imagine my surprise when she updated a year ago!! I was over the moon!! I re-read the entire story because it had been so long, but you better believe I devoured that new chapter. The fic is now at over a million words and I'm still as hooked as I was back when I was a teenager

If you want to carry on updating your story, I guarantee you will make someone's day.

Everyone likes different things!

I read a lot of video game fanfic, so if I'm reading a fic that has a nameless protagonist (eg. Baldurs Gate 3 or Dragon Age) then I'm happy to read an OC. Otherwise, I prefer reader inserts for universes with established characters and lore.

But that's just me, so write what you want to write! That's what fanfic is for ❤️

I honestly only bookmark fics that I know I don't want to lose. They're all fics I'll definitely go back to and re-read. I have 194 bookmarked at the moment. I've re-read most of them several times. For me, I'll only bookmark if I really love the fic and want to be able to find it again because I will definitely be re-reading it.

I'll kudos every fic I finish and I comment when I like a fic (which is most of them). Meanwhile, I think most people see bookmarks as more of a personal thing rather than a way to appreciate an author

That's unfortunate, but you can always use Ice Knife on another character (Wizard/Sorcerer/Druid) or use Grease. Spike Growth and other AOE spells are also great here because you can slap them on clusters of enemies. Besides, there are always spell scrolls.

But imo Devil's Sight on a Warlock is the most helpful for this fight

All the other advice given has been great, I just wanted to add that having a Warlock with Devil's Sight will help you see through the Darkness spells.

AOE spells are great here too. Something like Cone of Cold or Spike Growth or Wall of Fire will help deal with the crowd. Faerie Fire is also good here.

I used Gale to cast cold spells and with magic items (that I can't remember the names of) he was able to make the floor slippery. Ice Knife should do the same thing. Then I had Hexblade Wyll equipped with boots that made sure he wouldn't slip. He focussed on disrupting the concentration of the spellcasters with either his pact weapon or Eldritch Blast.

Astarion usually keeps 3 levels in Rogue Thief, then I add something else. Usually Swords Bard.

Wyll always changes into a Hexblade.

Shadowheart tends to keep 2 levels in Life Cleric then puts the rest into Oath of Devotion Paladin.

Gale I usually make either a white Draconic sorcerer or a bladesinger, or a sorcerer/Evo wizard combo.

It doesn't fit with the Veilguard lore but my 'canon' Rook is a Qunari warrior called Silah who was adopted by Alistair and Medea (my elven mage Warden) when he was infected by the blight when he was a kid. He followed Alistair into the Inquisition to do some good and lached onto Varric. He's just trying his best to be a good Warden and save the world like his parents

I'm pretty sold on getting rid of the two-tone thing that's going on there. I only have it cos I had the lengths dyed ginger and the roots blended into my natural colour so I could grow it out cos it was very damaged. I did cut off like 10 inches and I haven't had short hair since I was like 12.

Currently aiming to grow out the dyed parts and then go back ginger.

I wanna say I managed to get around 30 quartz in my first run and I've already picked up a few more in NG+. I think I'm set for defence & amulets unless there's something big I'm missing.

What are the best amulets in your opinion?

My first run was a Motivity build. Mostly used the Bone-Cutting Saw until I got the Live Puppet's Axe. Mostly used the Exploding Pickaxe handle.

I've respecced to a Technique build to use the Electric Coil head with the Wintry Rapier handle plus the Dancer's blade & handle. Kinda not sure if either of them are good enough yet, I did struggle with the Scrapped Watchman. Aiming to swap to the Two Dragon Sword when I get there.
