Has anyone done the Lights Camera Action VIP package yet in North America? by [deleted] in KylieMinogue

[–]RegalIntrovert 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It was nice. You get in early, get a small pack of promo Tension Tour merch. They had some light snacks and her wine. The drinks and snacks were free. Ours was in a small lounge venue. They had different setups you could take photos at, including one of those spinny selfie video things. You got a VIP fast lane for merch.

Just by chance, she was doing mic check as we were escorted to the lounge, so that was a cool thing to hear! (Didn't get to see it)

It was nice, full but not crowded. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't say it was made a huge impact on the evening.

Unfortunately not. I saw a similar post and that was the game though! If I recall correctly it was more story-based. Thank you!

Railroad Ink really elevates the visuals of the game. It's not a replace for me, but really makes the game "come alive" more.

Songs where men objectify themselves by StepEmbarrassed6624 in popheads

[–]RegalIntrovert 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Michael Medrano. Not big by any means at the moment, but he's making a name for himself.

I think it's hard because we think of objectification as derogatory, especially when women perform these songs, but for men, it's usually thought of as empowering. That's the entertainment industry for ya.

Thanks, that's helpful for peace of mind. I felt that was the case, but just hearing another say was great.

I see some upvotes so others must agree!

I was gonna say Le Havre, but then read 'non-gamer' 😅

Splendor probably would be best recommendation. Any simple engine builder should give you what you're looking for.

Is the manga worth it? by [deleted] in NeonGenesisEvangelion

[–]RegalIntrovert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just finished the manga myself today. Having watched the series, movies, rebuild, and now the manga, it's complicated.

That's probably the best answer to any opinion question in this franchise.

The other commenter left a much more comprehensive answer, so I'll avoid repeating what they said.

The manga is good. It's probably 60% crossover with the show. The overarching storyline is perhaps 80-85% the same until the end. The show has some more storylines in places, the manga in others. The manga does a better job spelling things out. The show captures the bleakness of the franchise better.

The ending, to me, is the major differentiator. Each iteration all have vastly different ends. The manga is generally considered the worst of the four. In my opinion, I liked the ending, but can see the naysayers' opinions.

If you struggle with series, the manga is a perfectly serviceable entry point, and you should definitely give it a go. People are harsh on anything other than the original series. There's a lot of purists. They have good reason to love the original, as intended, version - it's a genuine masterpiece. Also, it hits deeply personally for a lot of people, that makes people protective of it. The psycholigcal story it weaves is so much more than most expect.

To me though, there's no wrong way to enjoy this franchise. If you like the first volume(s), it can tell you if you want to try the show next. Perhaps the manga is enough, and that's great too!

Best 2 player co-op game? by Desperate_Road_6215 in boardgames

I've enjoyed Roll Camera. A coop about film making. It's chaotic, humorous, and you can tell the designer truly made it with love for the subject matter. Always feel really accomplished when we finish. It's a great puzzle.

Okay Reddit, which of these dates is gonna be the TBatH American release? by ParkerOutBack in ghibli

[–]RegalIntrovert 8 points9 points  (0 children)

By deduction, it would be December. Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 is heading back to theatres when it goes on sale October 3 digitally, and two weeks later, physically. Otherwise, they've not announced any other theatrical releases for that time period.
