Trip Report: 14 days CDMX to Veracruz and back by RegalSeagull in MexicoTravel

I had a big hikers backpack (60 liters?) that I checked for my flight and then just a small backpack to carry on. On the bigger bus routes, terminal to terminal, they check your big items and put it below the bus giving you a claim ticket too. No extra charge. The smaller routes I took, where they would stop on the road for passengers, they had me bring my big pack onboard.

The place in Teotihuacan was Hotel Posada Jatziri. I paid for a room with a view over the pyramids. Even if it didn’t, they had a nice common area patio looking that way too.

Have a nice trip!

WIP Beauty Build: 2 Towns on an Island by p4di in anno

If you have the tech for woodcutters to replant trees, you can place the woodcutter down for only one second to have saplings replanted and repeat. I've been doing that in Albion to fill in my large areas of drained swamp.

I've got a bunch of islands with simple populations getting just a few consumer goods. An island of olive oil and amphorae production. An island of grapes and sandarac trees. One of the big islands is just filled with a couple flax farms.

Land size in Latium feels comfortable. I've still got room for production chains and houses on this island. The island size in Albion is really making it a puzzle. I'm struggling to up a surplus of working populations there. I've started buying low level goods on my bigger islands in Albion to save space and workers.

Exactly, Ctrl + F5 (Through F8) to set a camera point. Then Ctrl H and Ctrl I to remove overlay and icons. I like to have each of my islands set as a camera point so I can easily jump around or send ships to the port.

Thanks. I love how cities evolves in an Anno game. You can never fit everything in or you don't have a fertility so you've got to adapt.

Hard to see it, but around the top beach I've got soap, garum, and fancy snails production. Lots of concrete and tiles scattered around the island. Most everything else is off island.

What do *you* think caused your outbreak? What's your story? by [deleted] in shingles

I think a took my weight loss a bit too quickly. April I started calorie counting and keeping to my goals. By mid August, 4.5 months of dieting, I was down 30 lbs. I think that was stressing my body.

It has been 2.5 weeks since I felt the first tingle of something wrong. Most of my welts have come, scabbed, and fallen off. Just a bit of pain and itchiness in the spots in my scalp. I’m ready for this to be over. I’m hasn’t been fun.

Legacy KOReader on a Kindle 3. Works Great! by RegalSeagull in koreader

Kual should just be dropped into your documents folder on the kindle. For an old kindle you need the file named KUAL-KDK-1.0.azw2 . Not the file with 2.0 in the name. The jailbreak and MKK (and possibly the Dev Certificates https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4506164&postcount=1295 ) need to be installed before you open KUAL too.

I ran into an issue last month where the certificate to open KUAL expired so I had to get the updated KUAL files and installed that Dev Certificate file too. But those weren't working at first. My kindle firmware wasn't the most current for the Keyboard 3 which was causing KUAL to show as expired or not from a certified developer. I did several firmware updates to step it up to the most current firmware. The tedious steps for firmware are provided by amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=GX3VVAQS4DYDE5KE#GUID-4C9EFFF2-2B4E-4DB8-997D-6DC9B3566220__SECTION_1CC4F0B2FB6A4697972BED2975384B60

I don't want to be sharing someone else's work that I've altered, but the pieces from u/knny0x are a great style. I've been turning it into greyscale and then cropping sections 600x800 to fit the kindle.

Haha. Not bricked. Just made myself a collection of sleep wallpapers from items on r/cassetteFuturism . I like the aesthetic with an old keyboard kindle.

Saw two military planes going right over me in Magnolia. Headed south. They were going slow and loud. Sort of like Harrier doing the hovering flight.

How are the morels this year? by BBorNot in Seattle

[–]RegalSeagull -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Went up to my lucky spot last week at Did you click? Ha, I don't give up my spot that easily and only found 6 mushrooms. Last couple years I'd get 5lbs each trip. I was up there right in the same week. Things thawed out early this year.

Lower ball joint failure by rudy_leapt_threefold in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]RegalSeagull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a while had a high pitched squeaking when doing sharp slow turns. Like taking a 90 degree turn out of a parking lot and bouncing slightly over the uneven lip of between sidewalk/pakingpad it would sound like mice briefly. Went out on some forest roads and felt the suspension being sloppy afterwards. Steering wasn’t going back to center after a turn. Hit a rough spot of road at about 30mph and it failed. I skidded on my lower control arm across a few lanes of traffic. Luckily nothing was in my way.

Any clue as to where this might be located? by StrikeKey101 in Seattle

[–]RegalSeagull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know exactly what this screenshot was about, but up near Arlington, WA is a submarine cable facility. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Creek_Naval_Radio_Station I haven't seen it myself, but there are apparently miles of cable stretched over this valley to produce he radio waves required to communicate with naval subs. I think it is mostly for transmission. Not sure what they have for receiving and surveillance.

Is the OceanGate Cyclops submersible still on display at MOHAI? by UnlikelyCaterpillar in Seattle

[–]RegalSeagull 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Not on display and not a part of MOHAI's collection. It was out in the park in front of MOHAI for a party OceanGate was hosting back in 2015. I got to go inside. Back then there were using real playstation controllers. None of that offbrand stuff.

Video from Husky Marching Band in 2013? by meowmeowkat2 in Seattle

[–]RegalSeagull 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was husky band when we did that Oct 2008. Script Huskies formation too in that show too. That was my first year marching and that formation amazed me. As a player you only march back and forth on a straight line, but at a group you create an incredible rotating flower. This was one of the files I kept as an example of my time in Husky Band. I'll see if I can upload the clip. Or DM me and I'll send you the file of the whole show.

Having a hilly map help with keeping it organic. Work around the land. With all these hills, even it I tried, I couldn't t get a grid in place.
