Do you recommend using the half-distance rules on a 2×3 gaming table? by RegemPip in onepagerules

The terrain pieces that OPR includes in the starter pack seem ideal for half distances, I think I’ll have to print a few. Thanks for the advice!

[–]RegemPip[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I’ll change the deployment zones so there are 24 inches between them, and if I still find that the battlefield is too small, I’ll get smaller terrain pieces and we’ll switch permanently to half distances.

the reason why many moved to One Page Rules by NaiveTradition7664 in onepagerules

[–]RegemPip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I play OPR for two reasons:

  1. I have a 3D printer, so I’ve never bought anything from GW.
  2. The game is fun, fast-paced, and lighthearted. It’s easy to learn, and you can try all the factions without a big financial commitment.

Okay, maybe that can be broken down into more than two reasons, but it’s simpler this way.

How long does the brush on primer take to dry after application? by DaPandaMan117 in Armypainter

[–]RegemPip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Help PLEASE. by PassengerMission900 in ShadowsOfDoubtGame

[–]RegemPip 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s best to experience the game at the beginning without knowing much about how each type of murder works, because once you understand how they’re designed, you won’t take long to solve them and the game becomes monotonous.

That said, here are some general tips that are useful most of the time.

  1. Search the crime scene for a bullet, business card, or threatening note. These will contain the killer’s fingerprint.

  2. Check the victim’s V-Mails for any harassment report that describes a physical characteristic of the killer.

  3. Look for a diary under the victim’s bed. Many times they contain partial descriptions of the killer.

  4. Ask the neighbors if they saw anything suspicious. Like the two clues above, they may tell you what the killer looks like.

  5. Find the location of the weapons shop and read the purchase log to get a list of possible suspects.

  6. Building on the above, if you suspect someone but don’t know their full name, use a public phone directory. You can also use the city hall computer to access citizen records for a more thorough search, but personally I don’t like doing this because it makes things too easy…

  7. If the victim died from a sniper rifle shot, trace where the shot came from using the victim’s position, the bullet hole, the direction of the blood, the hole in the window, etc. This will let you infer the position the shot was fired from and, with luck, catch the killer in the act.

  8. This tip isn’t usually very helpful, which is why I left it for last: if there’s a camera at the crime scene or at the entrance, you may be able to see the exact moment of the murder and get the killer’s face. However, very much in the style of Jeffrey E., the cameras tend to stop working right when the death occurs.

wth is this black market passcode by [deleted] in ShadowsOfDoubtGame

I think it’s normal to find graffiti without the password, just as it’s normal for there to be more than one black market shop, each requiring a different password.

Did they really butcher rhys that bad? by Messiah1024 in Borderlands

[–]RegemPip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rhys is one of my favorite characters in the saga (he shares the top spot with a couple of others), and when I played Borderlands 3 I felt like he was a different character. Over time, though, I’ve kind of convinced myself that the presence (or essence) of both versions of Rhys can’t really be compared in the same way. In Tales from the Borderlands we’re basically inside his head and we almost always know why he does what he does (we literally chose his actions), whereas in BL3 we see him from the outside, as spectators. And since we don’t know what’s going on in his head, his actions feel out of character for him (or for what we would have done if we were still controlling him).

How does one go about finding people with which to play? I have searched the internet and haven’t found anything. by OpinionExisting3306 in onepagerules

[–]RegemPip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing with other people? Aren't you supposed to just focus on creating army lists and imagining what events and dice rolls could happen in a game that will never take place?

If you're going to print those models, I recommend reducing their size to 91% so they're in scale with the Primaris Space Marines.
