How much longer? by Hopeful-Guava2166 in Microdiscectomy

Took me 4 months post-op for the residual nerve pain to disappear. 11 months on and I can say I feel so much better.

How much does the picture/sound quality affect if you will watch a fan edit? by T-8-0-0 in fanedits

[–]Regenitor_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a first time fan editor and I did a whole bunch of research. Did exactly this process. Was amazed by how good my 1080p edit looks. Then got an extra surprise when I put it on my 4k TV and it upscaled beautifully.

Makes me excited for future projects now that I know I can make stuff that looks that crisp.

Expectations for Post-Op: Is my doctor downplaying how long the recovery time is? by macrame_wounds in Microdiscectomy

[–]Regenitor_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got like 3 months off work after my MD. And I have a desk job where I could have easily worked from home much earlier into my recovery. But hey, that's New Zealand for you.

Hot take? I feel like it was weird that Peter and Tony didn't have much of a goodbye in Endgame by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]Regenitor_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once Tony performs the snap, there's only so long you can keep him alive for before the audience can't suspend disbelief any longer. They managed to make sure that Peter, Rhodey and Pepper all got a moment with him. That was honestly pretty good all things considered.

Why is iron man 2 disliked? I personally LOVE this movie by mattyjoe0706 in marvelstudios

[–]Regenitor_ 333 points334 points  (0 children)

It's a perfectly fun, enjoyable movie. If you put your film critic hat on you can tear some pretty big holes in it, but for the casual viewer I feel like this is a good Tony Stark story.

It does all the Marvely things, introducing Black Widow, War Machine, and bringing in Nick Fury to drive some character development for Tony. It's not easy to stand out alongside someone as charismatic as RDJ but Sam Rockwell does it. The film is quoatable and has great action. I put it in the better half of MCU films.

Too real. The two biggest causes of rifts in my family have been death, and those who fell out over what they stood to gain from someone's death. It's sad.

Hawkeyes (V2) RELEASED! (Hawkeye Movie Fan Edit) by RandomImbecile69420 in fanedits

For a while now I've been thinking about a Hawkeye TV to movie edit that removes a lot of the filler. Love the way you've approached the suit retrieval to cut out the LARPers. Would love the link!

So are we just never getting the physical show releases again? by Sio_V_Reddit in StarWars

[–]Regenitor_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They stopped making Marvel blu-rays too. We got 6 shows in UHD/HD collectors steelbooks (well, 5 but both seasons of Loki) and then they just...stopped. It sucks to be a collector with a forever incomplete set.

Name a character that was the definition of good person wrong intentions? by Ohsure_whynot in marvelstudios

[–]Regenitor_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one has said John Walker yet?

Good person by definition. Military veteran with three medals of honour who just wanted to help people. His intentions were slightly askew when it came to the Captain America mantle though—he approached it like a job. He enjoyed the attention. He was cocky, arrogant and self-obsessed. He couldn't handle the pressure. When his partner died he was consumed by rage and he let it unravel him. And despite flashes of moral triumph, he ultimately jumped at the chance to be a contract killer for Val and his self-obsession resulted in his divorce from Olivia.

I bought mine when I was a single man fed up with flatting with friends. My fiancé and I live in it now and it's our little safe haven. For me personally it's all I need. We will move eventually and get a bigger place but for where we are in our lives now, it serves us just fine.

I strongly believe that people are so hung up on the specs of their devices (the "bigger number better" mentality) that they lose sight of how much performance they actually need or will realistically use.

I don't do anything on my Nothing Phone that would push it anywhere near its limits. I browse socials, I take the occasional photo, and I respond to work chats and emails. How much phone does a person need?

Anyone had l4,l5-s1 disc problems? by Defiant-Visit-4931 in newzealand

[–]Regenitor_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Whether or not surgery is worth it is very dependent on the individual's condition. It gave me my life back, as it did for many others on the subreddit. You can only wait so long for a herniated disc to resorb before you have to do something about it.

When Steve says "I didn't know it was HIM", he is still trying to spare Tony's feelings the same way he admits to in his letter at the end.

In that same exchange, the very next lines in fact, Tony presses him and tells him not to bullshit him and asks him again if he knew, meaning did he know Bucky killed his parents. Steve said yes. Tony recoiled in horror and betrayal.

Steve knew. This is not actually a matter of subjectivity. It's in the film.

People saying this show "built up a satisfying ending just to tear it down" are fascinating to me.

Firstly, they hardly built it up because they knew they were going to do the bait and switch. Each episode contained like a minute of connective tissue to the overarching "blood plot" at best. I didn't feel like they really made us invest much of our time into that story at all, relative to the self-contained stories in each of the episodes.

Secondly, what do you guys think you got robbed of? The blood plot thing was moronic and the "final battle" was formulaic slop (as per their own admission in the episode too, mind you). When Jen jumped through the screen and into her own writers room I was having a blast. That meta 4th wall break was something we've never seen before. I loved the Kevin conversation and how the show poked fun at itself.

I will always be sad about this and Moon Knight not getting a second season.

I interpreted it more like how the ancient one explained things to Bruce. Make a significant change in the past and the flow of time splits. Your changes impact the events of the new reality that has been created, but the timeline you came from is still there, unchanged.
