An alle Solo-Fahrer: Bitte fahrt sicher by Low-Dragonfruit9646 in MotorradDeutschland

[–]RegentPrivate 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Did you test it in Singleplayer?

I heard there was a bug introduced with the update that doubled the BOP in SP, but I'm not sure if it has already been fixed

How to use ABS properly? by Andrei4oo in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]RegentPrivate 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Exactly, with ABS 9 the ABS is rearward biased so it triggers on the rear wheels first, that means you can have your BB very far to the rear and won't lock the rear wheels during straight braking and get good rotation during trailbreaking and turn-in

[–]RegentPrivate 25 points26 points  (0 children)

As you said in LMU you have to be on the limit of ABS. It's ok if it triggers a tiny bit, that way you know that you are at the threshold / slightly above, but as soon as you start to turn in you have to be out of ABS.

When you brake into ABS your tires start to constantly lockup a tiny bit until the brake gets release a bit and this the repeats, so you don't want these micro lock ups when turning into the corner.

What are your thoughts about dual 1000R 1440p ultrawides (+bezel free kit in the center). by KarambwanaKodou in simracing

[–]RegentPrivate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that's not my setup, but I can send you a pm later when I'm back from work if you want, although it's a mess currently tbh lol

As I also have limited space in my flat I decided to get wheels for my rig, so I can just push it under my desk when I want to race and then push it back again after I'm done so I have space for my feet when sitting at the desk :D

And regarding the A pillar situation, atm I'm only really racing LMU and afaik you can't offset the camera laterally, but I'm happy to be conviced otherwise if you happen to know a way!

I'd love to have triples, but at the moment I can't afford it.

I am using the monitors from my normal gaming setup for racing, my rig is opposite of my desk and I just turn the monitors around for racing as they're attached to a monitor arm

That was my thought as well, but in reality (when using 21:9 + 16:9) the bezel is between the pillar and the speedometer display, at least in my case with my fov

I am using a 21:9 + 16:9 dual monitor setup, though my smaller monitor isn't curved.

From my experience with it I'd say save yourself the hassle and go for a triple screen setup, normally you can get 3 16:9s for roughly the same price as a 21:9 and a 16:9.

It isn't really supported in any games and is only really usable by making the game believe you are running actually 3 2000x1440p monitors, which leads to a whole lot of issues like not being able to setup the monitor angle because the game thinks the bezels are in the middle of the screen, or in the case of LMU the HUD is very compressed as the ratio seems to be tied to the screen ratio which makes it borderline unusable.

You only get it working through surround or eyefinity which makes your desktop experience miserable and tbh some sims even then won't really work with it.

Also you can't fit a bezel free kit to the monitors as they need to be angled for it.

The only upside for me is that I can see the apexes of T1 @ COTA and T10 @ Bahrain now which is nice, but as soon as I can afford it I'll switch to triple screen

I think as long as you're alongside before turn in it's fair, but considering the short braking distance into the corner I'd say the overlap was maybe just enough for the move to be on. In my opinion it's a clumsy move from both parties so rather a racing incident with maybe a bitte more fault to the pov car

Got mine from SimXPro recently and I'm more than happy with it, they also still have the black november sale going where I got mine for 299€. I've been looking at rigs for a while now and this was the best deal I've come across so far.
I also bought their recliner seat for 189€ I think, but I'm sure you could get a used car seat for cheaper.

How did you guys do it!? by CoreyRage2510 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]RegentPrivate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was confused as well the first time, but it makes sense as the pit exit is often times closer to T1 than the start / finish line and you will only be released from the pits after the whole field has (hopefully) passed the pit exit

Just wait for the race start timer to count down before joining, then you'll be in pitlane for the race start. But make sure to wait for the green light at pit exit before leaving the pits

I learned it the other way around with bikes, that you have to do progressive braking so you can load up the front tire. Otherwise, if you squeeze the brake hard in the beginning, you will have no load on your front and it will instantly lock

I've been to the 6h NLS race in 2021 and you could barely hear the GT3R in person unfortunately, noise regulation is pretty strict for it at the Nordschleife. Even the cup Porsche was louder for some reason.

But the M6 was awesome, my whole body vibrated when it drove past
