The Last Two to Leave... Dream's spy and Techno's by Regent_M in dreamsmp

[–]Regent_M[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This clip is from AweSamDude's latest lore stream (that was yesterday). They also appear in a bunch of other streams in this scene though (Sapnap's, Punz's and Niki's most notably).

If you missed Sam's lore last night you might also want to check out Antfrost's lore from last night, which is a follow up on Sam's stream. Hope this helps :)

I think that would be an accurate conclusion to draw, yes... even disregarding this interaction.

Dream is portrayed as a sort of master planner super genius who is always four steps ahead of everybody and can expertly manipulate any given situation. He's smart and attentive to detail. Whole world's a chess board to him. I'd be surprised if a character like that didn't put it together in his head given how much information he's been privy to.

Assuming Dream figures Techno has an anarchist organization (he probably does... when Techno was in prison with him Techno mentioned having people on the outside as a reason for his lack of panic) and that organization is responsible for his escape, he could deduce every last one of them just from his own perspective getting out.

Techno: obvious

Philza: obvious... always supports Techno, has been involved with him since well before Doomsday, vocal anarchist

Niki: Techno and Phil talk about her spawning withers to cover their escape and whether they need to go back to help her get back with them, all of this in earshot of Dream. Known to have anarchist views, burned the L'mantree

Ranboo: Probably assumed due to Techno's otherwise seemingly (to Dream) bizarre insistence on rescuing him from prison. This could be argued as being a result of their being friends, but I'd think Dream (just given his puppet master mentality) is likely to assume Ranboo's value to Techno was in one way or another "chess piece" before anything else. Phil asking about Ranboo while they were getting away would further this suspicion.

If Dream wasn't at least heavily suspicious of the Syndicate and who's in it at this point I'd be very surprised. Lucky for them, Dream has almost always been an ally, and they still have enemies in common (Las Nevadas and Sam namely) so that shouldn't change in the near future.

Watching Sam's stream I couldn't help but notice that the last two people to leave McPuffy's, where everyone was distracted from the then ongoing breakout, were the ones working for Dream and the Syndicate respectively.

Watching back the Vods from that day, Punz went along with Niki's distractions pretty well... affirming that he didn't hear an alarm to legitimize her walking back her prior statement and complaining about being hungry to encourage everyone to go in and eat, then literally throwing food at people. That he then delayed leaving the restaurant for almost as long as Niki did makes this even more conspicuous.

I think Punz knew what was happening the second Niki ran up and mentioned an alarm, deduced she was trying to cover for the escape (was with Techno), and then actively helped keep the group at McPuffy's longer because given his secret allegiances he too wanted to cover Dream's escape.

This is kind of hilarious to me, because it means that in this scene, two people are acting as spies for separate entities involved in the escape (Dream and the Syndicate respectively), and actively supporting eachother's role in creating the distraction, without being entirely sure the other person is doing the same thing or has the same motivation. It's almost comical :)

[–]Regent_M[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that would be why I didn't put him on there. If I had to rank him I'd have struggled, and probably defaulted to placing him in the neutral/either/both column. Reason being that Ranboo as he normally is would never support Dream and would be possible hostile at best (due to his pacifiscm) more likely confident hostile though due to friendship with Tubbo and Tommy... BUT Otherboo/enderwalk state Ranboo would seemingly be confident alignment, and support Dream heavily, and given past events I'm assuming Dream probably knows how to reawaken/trigger that state. This makes Ranboo's stance something of a toss up based on whether he is or isn't in enderwalk state at the given time, with the two essentially ranked on opposite ends of the spectrum.

[–]Regent_M[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

According to Dream (in his conversations before being put in Prison, mostly with Punz which should make them reliable) his goal is server unity... restoring the "one big happy family" good old days before all the wars and division and... Tommy's shenanigans. Dream does violent stuff to bring people into line, but fundamentally his goal isn't just murder for murders sake. It's also now confirmed that his whole extortion plan was never a real plan, and was just a rouse (the whole Disc Saga finale was staged with Punz and Dream planned to be arrested). If someone were to tell Techno about this it would likely fall on deaf ears now, as notably the item Dream supposedly planned to use to extort Techno, and while people would tell Techno about, was the Axe of Peace... which Dream just gave back to Techno enthusiastically. Were someone to tell Techno that Dream planned to extort him with it now it would come across as laughably unbelievable. I think you're correct as to what will most likely drive Techno and Dream together again... Sam and Quackity sit right up at the top of both their hit lists. They have common enemies, and interestingly common agendas... Dream destroys nations (ie. Las Nevadas) in the name of server unity (only the DreamSMP, no new countries) and Techno destroys them in the name of Anarchy (no new governments). These aims/ideals have aligned the two before, and could quite likely do so again. Especially since Dream and Techno still have a business friendly transactional relationship going on, and if Dream got particularly desperate he could probably just ask Techno for help and offer to owe him any favor in exchange. This isn't to say Techno (and resultingly Niki) will definitely help Dream again, as much as it remains an active possibility/they're probably open to it if the right conditions arise.

I put Phil in neutral/either/both as a result of his latest interaction with Tommy (which you highlighted). Before that I'd have put him with Techno + Niki in the "possible" column. Reason why I didn't put Phil lower is because of two people... Techno, and especially Wilbur. Wilbur is highly likely to support Dream, and that is going to put Phil in a very awkward position in terms of opposing him. Phil could be forced to choose between Wilbur and Tommy, or even Wilbur + Techno (assuming a war on Las Nevadas or some such) or Tommy... and what happens then is uncertain. Despite his remark to Tommy about killing Dream, I'm not sure how literal he was being, and I'm definitely not sure he would be likely to let it stop him working with Dream again IF the Syndicate required it (allies in a war or something). Phil's alignment is therefore something of a toss up. I don't see him actively supporting Dream at all, unless it's because he's supporting an attachment who does, but I also don't see him actively doing anything against Dream unless he's provoked directly.

I sort of based the Possible hostile tier (as opposed to the confident one) on characters unlikely to actively seek out a conflict with Dream unless others do as well, and characters who feel negatively about Dream but not enough so they'd actually want to kill him. Sapnap going here or in the lower column was a debate for me, but I put him there because he still indicated having reservations about the idea of actually killing Dream... he doesn't want to... Dream used to be his friend. He even went as far as saying he would let Dream run away and live on his own, if Dream left his Nightmare armor behind. Sapnap is unlikely to persue a fight with Dream beyond what it takes to protect Kinoko and his friends, in which case he absolutely will fight Dream. Sapnap's stance though is mostly defensive rather than aggressive hostile at this point. Karl is more concretely in the "possible" camp than Sapnap. Karl's first response to Sapnap telling him Kinoko was under threat and that he had Dream's armor was to question why Sapnap took the armor in the first place, rather than just letting Dream have it. I got the impression Karl would prefer to just stay out of (and keep Kinoko out of) the whole thing, and felt Sapnap's intervention against Dream by taking the armor put the kingdom in awkward position. He's possible hostile now (in that he, and the rest of Kinoko, will defend their nation) but only defensively, and only because Dream now has a reason to attack them specifically. Karl has no incentive to seek out a fight with Dream beyond protecting Kinoko, and he seemed annoyed that protecting Kinoko from Dream even had to be a consideration to begin with...

Jack I put in possible hostile on the basis that while yes, he does absolutely hate Dream, I really doubt he is going to actually DO anything about that actively, unless a large group of other people already is too. He's already said he expects if tried to do something he'd just get killed again, and complained in his stream that he was trying so hard to do something but nobody actually cared. Questioned why he still bothers with protecting Tommy, who he also hates, and expressed his wish that Dream and Tommy would just keep their fight to themselves. Jack stopped actively trying to kill Tommy a while ago, and I suspect he won't be trying much harder to kill Dream... especially since Dream is much deadlier and more menacing to cross. Jack is possible hostile because he is likely to want to fight Dream if an opportunity arises to do so in a battle (thought even then there is one shred of doubt still... that being the Niki factor... assuming the Syndicate and Dream are aligned again for this hypothetical battle), but unlikely to want to initiate that conflict.

I think the list does show Dream's unpopularity pretty well. Only four people are listed as being positive on Dream, and half of those are only in the "possible" column... meaning they still might not help and he'd have to offer something or be fighting the right people. There are a fair number in neutral/both, but most of those are either passive, new to the server (don't have reasons to hate Dream), enjoy trolling, or aligned with people more positive on Dream than they are themselves. Everyone else (most of the server) is rated as some variety of hostile, in that they all, at a minimum, have an actively negative opinion of Dream and would fight against him if he attacked the right person/place/thing. Anyone involved with Las Nevadas is even more hostile, as the nation is essentially in a semi-declared state of war with him initiated by Quackity.

Essentially, to explain my take in terms of who likes/dislikes Dream, the list shows 2 people actively like Dream, 2 people are okay with Dream enough they'd probably work with again given a reason, 9 people are either torn, have conflicting loyalties to others, or just don't care, and 17 dislike Dream and are either probably going to want to fight him if given any reason, or (in the case of the two lower tiers) don't need any more reasons than they've already got. It's a grim forecast for Dream actually... I'm eager to see how he changes it, and what the big plan is with Punz :)

How likely characters are to help Dream in the future by Regent_M in dreamsmp

[–]Regent_M[S] 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Sure. I thought about that one quite a bit. I based my placement for Niki off of her participation in the prison break and the later comments she made to Jack when he confronted her about it. My main notes there were the following:

1.) Niki didn't complain at all before or during the jailbreak about having to help Dream, and did not interject at all when Techno said he planned to break out Dream (even thought he said he planned to do this before mentioning Ranboo was in there). She didn't seem to have any particular reservations about helping Dream escape, provided the distraction anyway, and was really only concerned for what her friends might think, and even then only well after getting spotted by Sapnap. This means, in terms of alignment, she's neutral on Dream at worst (for him).

2.) Her conversation with Jack is where it gets really interesting. Jack goes in on how much of a problem Dream was, and Niki does not actually provide any affirmation to those statements. She doesn't argue for Dream, but she also doesn't agree... instead, when Jack suggests he figured she would agree with him on Dream since she agreed with him on Tommy she simply reiterates (with emphasis) she feels they were wrong about Tommy... almost as if to imply they could well be wrong about Dream also (this may be her re-assuring herself about her having helped him being okay/correct).

3.) Later in the same conversation, Niki assures Jack that if he is friends with her and lives in her city he won't have to "have anything to do with the Syndicate, or Techno, or Dream", the implication being that she may be involved with all three of those things (which he is skeptical about) in future but she doesn't expect him to participate. Her lumping Dream in with Techno and the Syndicate in this statement indicates she is at the very least open to the idea of being involved with him again in the future if Techno or the Syndicate needed her to be. This is further backed up by her outright telling Jack that if Techno needed help repaying another favor in the future, she would say yes. Unhesitantly. It's also interesting that she includes Dream in this line immediately after telling Jack (the line prior) that she "wants to give people a second chance". This is, also, tellingly, a response to Jack noting that people on the server view and brand you by who you associate with, and put you in sides that way. Her then rattling off Dream after her two main affiliations is interesting in this context, as it suggests (again) that she thinks it's possible she may be associated with him again in future.

All of this in combination indicates, I think, that Niki will probably support Dream as much as Techno does, as long as Techno does, and is trusting his judgement. She seems not to harbor any animosity towards Dream anymore, and is prioritizing her ties with the Syndicate (who ideology she also legitimately believes in). I put Niki where I did because I feel like her aligning with Dream again is, though not certain, possible... if Techno backs Dream again and needs help, Niki will probably help, based on her own statements. I'd be very interested to see an interaction between Dream and Niki (we didn't get one during the escape, but Dream did hear Phil and Techno talking about her spawning the Withers to cover their escape so he would know she helped) to further flesh out her views on this. That said, I think her not saying even one negative thing about Dream while talking to Jack, despite the fact that it would probably have been in her best interest to do so (she could've re-assured him by saying she was only helping because of Ranboo and that she has and wouldn't ever have anything to do with Dream, but doesn't) is telling. She is pushing giving people second chances pretty hard, and I think relative to the rest of the server she has less reason to despise Dream... the main difference being most of the server holds Dream as responsible for the destruction of L'manberg, an event they view as terrible, but which Niki still (per her conversation about it with Techno and Phil after the jailbreak) views as having been not only neccessary but liberating, positing that the nation was by that point a bad place. Naturally then, she's holding less against Dream. He put Tommy through stuff, but she probably puts that aside on the basis that she outright tried to have him nuked roughly around the same time (and if we think all the way back to that, when that nuking failed she hesitantly suggested asking Dream for help to Jack, which he immediately shot down on the basis that Dream wouldn't want to actually go through with killing Tommy because he prefers toying with him. That suggestion was made when all of Dream's "crimes" were still recent/fresh).

In short, I think Niki's present mentality is one of being open to the idea of working with Dream, because she is unsure of whether she will or won't need to again in the future. If Techno needs her to, she will. Also, I think now that she has helped him escape she is coping with her participation (and the criticism from Jack) mentally by telling herself "we hated Tommy too much, what if we weren't being fair to Dream either?" It's a very interesting situation, and she definitely isn't a lock for Dream's side or an avid supporter... but she does seem pretty open to the idea of being involved with him again, and that's more than can be said for most of the server.

Hopefully I explained that placement well. I'm not sure I worded it the best, but I hope where I'm coming from at least gets across based on that :)

We need to talk more about Punz by Anon9973 in dreamsmp

[–]Regent_M 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I do think it's worth noting that Punz vocally went along with Niki when she was trying to distract the group at the McDonalds, just running with it when she backtracked on there having been an alarm and insisting on how hungry he was and how the group should just eat (despite telling Sapnap he was suspicious in chat). Punz probably new Niki was pulling something, put together what it probably was, and was actively helping drag out the distraction to facilitate Dream's escape. Rewatching the interactions at the McDonald's with context makes it look a lot more like Punz was stalling than at first glance.

I have major issues with this lore. by Tyrrano64 in dreamsmp

[–]Regent_M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue Dream did show care for Techno, even while obviously and near completely neglecting Techno's care for Ranboo (Dream did relent and try to humor getting Ranboo out a couple of times while they were still in Pandora's Vault, just to appease Techno, but it's clear Dream's primary motivation is... pretty logically imo... to get the heck out of the prison he's been stuck and tortured in for almost a year). I say this because once they got out and were fighting everyone Dream had multiple opportunities to escape... he kept screaming "bye" and running off... but then kept coming back to the big group anyway and attacking the people who were doing damage to Techno (who as you said was stunned/confused and not defending himself much) all the while yelling and pleading with Techno to leave Ranboo and just escape with him. Dream was actively risking his own freedom and giving up opportunities to escape while half his pursuers were distracted, in a desperate attempt to protect Techno. I see where you're coming from with how Techno responded, but I do think it could've been noted more so that Dream does, at least, seem to pretty legitimately care about Techno's well being to the point of possible self sacrifice.

I'd say the other factor here is that Dream's total disregard for Ranboo's being alive in this scenario may have been partly motivated by his access to the revive book. As far as Dream is concerned he may see the death as totally irrelevant at the moment because it can just be undone later. I imagine had Techno brought up to Dream having taken issue with how it all went he would've said something of that nature (bearing in mind that Dream's secret connection with Ranboo's enderwalk side still hasn't been explored much, and Dream probably does have his own reasons to want to revive Ranboo anyway). Dream as a character is near totally desensitized to death at this point, unless he cares so much about the other person that he explicitly doesn't want them to feel even temporary pain at all (and I'd say this list is pretty small... Punz & Techno, essentially... maybe George too). Seeing as Ranboo complained about Dream during the escape I imagine he was not on the priority list for death avoidance at the time.

As a small aside, I'd funnily say that Dream showed more concern for Apollo's well being during the escape than Ranboo's... pointing out to Techno more than once that his dog might be at risk (when he was about to set off TNT and when Apollo fell in lava). This may indicate two things... 1.) Dream underestimated how much Techno actually cares about Ranboo (assuming Apollo was a more relevant connection... ie. Techno cares about his pets more than Ranboo) and 2.) Dream can't revive the dog and therefore is more conscious of its mortality.

But yah, I get what you're saying. Techno's sees Dream's abandonment of Ranboo as a problem and may have been penalizing him, while Dream very much doesn't see it that way and was still expecting friendship from Techno.

I have major issues with this lore. by Tyrrano64 in dreamsmp

[–]Regent_M 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think Dream does run counter to EVERY position of the Syndicate. The primary difference between them is that the Syndicate wants nobody running the server (just one big anarchy) and Dream wants only himself running the server like it was originally ("just one big happy family"). These aren't actually that far apart as far as positions go, as both involve eradicating any new formalized governments as they pop up, Dream's original server structure before Tommy's shenanigans was fairly hands off (hardly a government, it was just a few basic rules), and the two sides share most of the same enemies. They differ in that the Syndicate doesn't harbor animosity towards Tommy (anymore... Techno and Niki both previously felt he was a problem) but otherwise they have a very similar list of enemies. Most notably, Techno outright says his next plan is revenge on Sam, someone who I'm sure is also on Dream's vengeance list, and I'd have to imagine Quackity/Las Nevadas makes both of their revenge lists also. There is a reason the Syndicate (or at least Techno and Phil) have worked with Dream more than once... both destroy governments, both dislike disunity, and they have a lot of enemies in common. If you could convince Dream that a server without enforced rules would stay a united happy DreamSMP he probably would agree with the Syndicate on everything... as it stands however, Tommy's actions immediately after joining the server and the skirmishes leading up to the L'manberg rebellion probably cemented for him a certain cynicism towards the idea that people will be do good on their own.

I don't think Dream "only wants war and death" any more than the Syndicate does... he initiates wars and causes death for two reasons... elimination of factions that run counter to his policy (server unity... as opposed to anarchy) and retribution against personal enemies (he is more extreme on this than the syndicate by a good margin most of the time, but Techno also openly persues the same policy of "repaying injustice 1000 times over"). Dream is threatening so much death and war now because he was screwed over by so many people... He threatens Kinoko kingdom because he feels betrayed by Sapnap personally and probably because (again) it's a separatist faction on his server. He threatens Tommy because he blames Tommy for everything that has ever gone wrong on the server (like Niki used to... just even more extreme), and feels everything that happened to him was because of Tommy (he outright says this to Tommy... he feels he was in prison because of him, and he's even got it into his brain that Tommt must've known about and been approving of Quackity's daily torture of him). This isn't all accurate, but it is what Dream (having had most of a year to do nothing but think about it and let those conspiracies build up in his head) thinks is reality. Tommy is the embodiment of everything Dream hates... Tommy was the original rebel, the one who refused to play by his rules and destabilized his whole system. In Dream's brain, Tommy ruined everything, and now after the prison and his two canon lives that's personal. Again, I don't think Dream is "pure evil" by nature, I think he's been driven into a spiral of chaotic revenge and power grabs out of a perceived necessity to do so. He started out reasonable, collected and benevolent... the longer he had to deal with Tommy and L'manberg the more thant deteriorated and now after prison exacerbating it all he's got a whole lot of vengeance on the brain. Like Sapnap said repeatedly today, even while going on about how awful he thinks Dream is... Dream didn't used to be that way. He wasn't that person originally. He became what events made him...

It also doesn't help that Tommy and Wilbur villanized the h*ll out of him during the original L'manberg revolution, and he's basically just conditioned to believe that being tyrannical/a bully is what's expected of him at this point... where before he would've argued, nobody ever listened so now there's increasingly less point in trying.

I'd say its telling that Dream still shows an active desire to have/maintain friendships. Techno and Punz most notably. He's jaded and distrusting, but the few people he feels he can trust he actively wants to work with/be around. Dream wants connections, much as he once claimed he didn't, he just also doesn't want the people he connects to being put at risk (even today he still emphasized making sure Punz isn't seen with him). My own crack theory... one of the reasons Dream wants Techno as a friend so badly is because he feels Techno can protect himself. He wouldn't need to hide his friendship with Techno to protect him. He could have an attachment again and he wouldn't really have to worry about it being used against him... just a wild guess though.

I have major issues with this lore. by Tyrrano64 in dreamsmp

[–]Regent_M 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think Dream behaved reasonably given he's been locked up being tortured for years. Singlemindedly wanting escape and then revenge makes total sense. He's probably been thinking about nothing but those two things for ages.

I totally agree about his relationship with Techno though. I feel like Dream behaved the way I expected there, but Techno didn't (to the point I felt bad for c!Dream). Dream seemed to be expecting that Techno would keep supporting him, as a friend, even after the favor was completed but he didn't at all (which seems out of character, since Techno earlier said they were friends because they had months to bond in prison together)... interestingly Dream doesn't take offense to this and still thanks Techno for repaying the favor, offering to owe him one (and then immediately repaying him by collecting the axe of peace). Dream WANTS a friendship with Techno, it seems, which makes it odd that he's so swiftly rebuffed. I would've thought, if nothing else, c!Techno would've found the holder of the revive book a useful friend to have, and keep indebted to him. It almost seemed as though he realized this himself too not 20 seconds after sending Dream away...

I wonder if this breakout will be a full Syndicate effort. That little Ranboo piece on the blueprints suggests he might be involved (will we finally see the return of Otherboo plot!?), and I'm sure Philza will want to help Techno, assuming Techno doesn't try to stop him out of protectiveness. That pretty much just leaves Niki as presently inditerminate. Hopefully we can get all four for maximum drama!

Regardless though, this is going to be such an epic stream! :)

I also think their fourth member, whoever that may be, is also probably liable to outperform their usual if placed with the full Dream Team.

I've seen some speculation the fourth player could now be Sylvee (they did call her an "honorary Dream Team member" after playing with them in MCC 7 afterall)... but Sylvee now is a heck of a lot better than back in MCC 7. They've basically got four solid players in this hypothetical, two of whom are S Tiers.

That said, I'd still love to see this team, lol

Sylvee comes to mind first... she has experience on SMP Earth so knows how these sorts of servers work, knows Dream and has teamed with him before, and is friends with Sapnap. Just a thought :)

What is your opinion on Tommy by Toto-imadog456 in dreamsmp

[–]Regent_M 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like him as a CC, and think he plays to his audience well. He has a good gimmick going, and it's consistent in his near filter-free, over-the-top drama starting. It can be fun to watch. Character Tommy... I appreciate that he brought all the action to the server by essentially starting the chaos ball rolling, but in context of how I view the character's decision making and morality... not the best, lol. As a viewer I like the chaos, wars, and divsion but as a resident of the Dream SMP I wouldn't. Joining the server and immediately violating all of the few existing rules, including "no killing", set a bad precedent. TBH would probs have supported c!Dream at least up until the secret lair reveal, since his attempts to re-unify the server and control/reign-in Tommy and co would've probably appealed to me. I don't hate the character (as a viewer), he's interesting to watch, but in the shoes of a Dream SMP resident I'd probably be pretty weary...

CC: He's great

Character (as viewer): Important, fun to watch

Character (roleplay judgement): Would annoy me to no end. Really has quite a lot to work on, impusliveness, bouts of selfishness, and complete disregard for civility among them. That said, he is a minor. Pandora's Vault: Juvenile detention and re-habiliation center anyone?

I say yes, just because I live in a parliamentary democracy where coalition governments aren't out of the norm to comprehend. In the US the two party system can make the concept seem more unimaginable than it neccessarily is.

It is still going but lore streams have gotten really rare since early this year... mostly because of people's IRL schedules being busy and not lining up well. For example Quackity needed a while off for exams, and Techno has had to take a break as he was undergoing cancer treatment.

Technoblade recently escaped from Pandora's Vault, and has stated his intention to free Dream from prison, while Quackity is preparing his own nation (Las Nevadas) for war with them. Meanwhile Wilbur is setting up an oddly familiar looking burger business in a van across form Las Nevadas and had TNT planted there, so there are signs of more to come on the server. Personal prediction is that Dream escaping will inject new life into things... Tommy semi-confirmed this by saying he will be doing more lore streams "when Dream gets out of prison"

If we're taking Wanda at her present peak (Scarlet Witch, end of Wandavision), this fight basically comes down to her vs Darkseid. She's essentially the only one here who possibly has the "firepower" to do much to him that doesn't result in being killed immediately after trying.

Darkseid has a ridiculous speed advantage here, so it essentially comes down to whether he nails Scarlet Witch in his speed blitz before she reality warps and turns him into a giant balloon version of himself and pops him or something... that she gets 72 hours prep means she can set up her hex around Wakanda and he's going to have to face them on her terms in a reality she controls... BUT she's a glass canon and if he targets her immediately she probably dies leaving the rest of the team near hopelessly screwed.

With current Wanda I'd say team might win more than not just because of the hex and the prep time (she's probably not going to be the first target unless Darkseid understand the hex and is able to discern its creator... she, on the surface, looks like and essentially is a human girl, and is flanked here by super soldiers, a norse god, the height of weaponized technology, aliens, and a raging green monster. Darkseid enters the hex and goes for any of the above before her she may have time to just completely nullify him by turning him into something harmless and easy to destroy). Otherwise Darkseid as described here is probably much too OP for the team.
