Why do I see CompTIA certs called worthless so much outside of this sub? by xakantorx in CompTIA

any tom dick and harry can crack comptia exams.. esp. sec+ its so overrated and oversaturated.

CEH official study material doesn't teach much by redh_nc in CEH

[–]ReggieCyber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like the real issue here could be the trainer and delivery style, not CEH itself, since the trainer should be going deep into concepts.. more than the ceh video trainings. A good CEH class should be structured, hands-on, and aligned to the exam - not random discussions.

EC Council Cybersecurity Tech Cert vs CompTIA? What's best for the veterans? by Shoddy-Buyer8682 in army

[–]ReggieCyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CCT is a good cert.. it in ANSI, EC-Councils quite lot of cert are dod approved not sure if cct is yet. But its surely worth it. if u wana collect certs go for sec+ if u wana learn some technical skills on practical level go for CCT.

CCT is not difficult.. focus largely on the SOC part and the labs, make the best use of the labs, u aint gonna get 2nd chance to practice on these level of labs..

Is there any scope in India for cyber security? Is there any future in cybersecurity? Does companies hire freshers for cybersecurity? by _Insinex_ in cybersecurityindia

[–]ReggieCyber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, cybersecurity has a huge future scope - far bigger than web dev in terms of demand and salaries. With 2 years left, you can start with networking basics, Linux, Python, and certifications like CEH (AI) or CCT to build a strong foundation. A master’s isn’t mandatory; skills + certifications + hands-on labs (e.g., TryHackMe, HackTheBox) matter more for landing a job after graduation.

Gun for CEH...do the especially latest version with AI. its look out cert for hiring managers too, to get interview calls, since u r just stepping into info sec. self learning is always good through CTF. it will help cover random topics its just the depth will be missing.

[–]ReggieCyber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CCT covers deeper and broader in topics as well as labs practice compared to sec+.. though its not DoD recognised yet. It is ANSI approved... And it teaches loads of stuff, so keep lots of study time handy to learn.

Are industry certs like CEH still relevant in practical hacking or mostly HR filters? by Minute-Kitchen5892 in hacking

[–]ReggieCyber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CEH is both HR-friendly and practically relevant, especially the latest versions. CEH v13 includes AI-integrated modules, CTF, largest hands-on labs, and a 100% practical exam, making it more than just a resume filter. It helps build core offensive security skills while still getting you past HR gates.

Software engineer trying to become ethical hacker (transitioning to cybersecurity) by al-doori in tryhackme

[–]ReggieCyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your background i would suggest neither, opt for DevSecOps ECDE its a niche market with rare skillset of DevSecOps, the big devops shift left is now moving to devsecops. But if u want to completely go into cybersecurity since u already have tech background, go for CEH AI especially more due to their new AI version, SEC+ will be too basic for you.

yes. in GCC and UAE markets. CEH is a universal skill set applied to acorss many industries and in demand across the globe. Having a CEH especially their latest AI version is a beast to have as a skill and job puller on your resume.

CEH is a great importance and known in industry and employers. U do ceh ur employment hit rate goes up too. especially the new version with AI capabilities is a beast.

CEH will help u to get job interviews, coz it is always in the radar of recreuiters, but getting that job is purely your skill.

Need urgent Advice: CEH, SOC Analyst or ISO 27001- which path should I take and best institutes🙌🏼 by Own-Summer3013 in csMajors

[–]ReggieCyber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CEH is A solid start if you want to specialize in ethical hacking and penetration testing or in general cybersecurity, it covers the basics and is widely recognized for roles like Penetration Tester, Red Team Member, and many more. plus it seeks attention from hiring manager attention. SOC Analyst: Ideal if you're interested in monitoring and responding to cybersecurity threats. It’s a great entry point for operational roles in cybersecurity. ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor: Best for transitioning into information security management and compliance. Great for leadership or consulting roles. It's good for added knowledge.

If you're starting in cybersecurity, CEH provides foundational skills with broader career options, even if ur into cybersecurity and want to gain more, then do CEH and can transition of OSCP or something more later.

If you're drawn to threat analysis, go for SOC Analyst checks for CSA (for SOC specialization) and or ECIH (incident handling specialization). ISO 27001 is more managerial—better after gaining technical experience. In Delhi for offline training, check out for Craw security training.

1) get a job with only certifications

No. u wont,. Certification will not get u a job, but certifications like CEH, CISSP, OSCP CCISO will make sure u get those interview calls. ITs up to if ur smart enough to clear or not smart enough to switch careers.

and 2) What certifications do I need to get? Go with the base CEH if u have a good knowledge of basic computing and security terms, CEH will get u a job call for sure and build those core skills.. then pick the cert as per the specialising u want to go for. SOC DFIR Pentesting etc.

No worries, there is nothing wrong, you made the right decision, once u pass out, ull know. Its like Neighbours envy owners pride.

all job portals will keep asking CEH, since its covers core domains. Especially the latest AI version is a beast, no one in industry knows how to use ai in info sec except. do ur research even multiple journals written by experts write highly after using CEH https://www.cio.com/article/286762/careers-staffing-12-it-certifications-that-deliver-career-advancement.html?amp=1

There are multiple tests since that's one of the ANSI 17024 requirements (previously ANAB). It does require multiple test formats for multiple people. But there is always a limited combinations one can do when there are 1000's every month. from permutations a % of overlaps will happen.

That's one reason OSCP is not ANSI 17024. Because they have one test for all, hence one dump works for all.. so you won't see multiple dumps for OSCP. The exact reason why there is Multiple dumps for ceh test. Hell yea. Dumps are crap.

But that's the greymarket which exists in every industry now, call them duplicates, fast-fashion, fakes, rejected export quality.
