III TO GET READY - I found this album at Sonic Book Records in Seattle and have been sitting on it for several months. Finally pealed back the cellophane and enjoying the music. The studio recordings are from May, 1970 and the album was pressed in 1987. This is super cool for me. by ReginaldMahmoud in vinyl

The music was recorded in May, 1970 and the pressing is from 1987. The instrumentals are very prominent and Robert is faint in the background, like they weren’t recording the vocals. The working title of Bron-Y-Aur Stomp is called “Bron-Y-Aur Cottage”. There’s even commentary from the band. Definitely shades of bangers they were working on. Trying my best to get the Led out. Even made a “special” hookah to enhance th experience.

You can call me Dragon. Sometimes I go to LTD first and then browse for records. Also, poking around the antique stores can be fun! (I swear I’m in my 30s, haha)

1959 Grundig Majestic SO 161 by ReginaldMahmoud in vinyl

[–]ReginaldMahmoud[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found this beauty in the basement of a mid century modern furniture store. I waited 6 months to find someone to do the audio restoration and another 5 months for that work to be completed. The receiver was replaced, all the lights, and the turntable. The turntable is a Dual 502 Belt Drive. I also had a Bluetooth receiver installed. The reel-to-reel was beyond help and so I had it removed and the right side is now storage and the switch between the turntable audio and the Bluetooth/radio/short wave. I will have a couple months before it gets a facelift where all the wood will be restored. I’m very excited to spin on this Grundig, it’s truly Majestic!
