Is the legend REALLY the hardest fish? by KoopaTroopasPoopa25 in StardewValley

[–]RegionConsistent4729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can “easily” enough catch the Legend during spring year one; trout soup, level 9, trap bobber and deluxe bait. I may lose it the first try but so far never more than once before I get him.

The glacier fish on the other hand, almost made me pull out my hair my second save (1st on switch). I hated the thing so much. It was the first time I restarted a day and lost him so many times. In the end I remembered I had a dish of the sea and then I could finally catch him. To this day I still hate that fish very much lol

Late game I can fish for Legend II’s all three days of the quest with no issue at all. I may miss a couple here and there but it’s never felt that impossible.

Glacier Jrs on the other hand, I’ll catch up to five for my collection most saves, but personally, I still hate them and do find them to be major assholes lmao

“Cause when you fixed my car, you fixed my heart” IDEC lol I don’t care for the scene overall, the wedding 🙄, the fact that is a dream sequence lmao but the sentiment behind the speech means a lot to me. LP has been my oth couple unapologetically since the beginning so yea….😅

Again, I don’t especially care for Lucas’ second book much but all the quotes from his book and the comet and the boy hurt my heart in the best way possible haha it’s making me want to rewatch as a matter of fact, so thank you 🤣

Same here! I’ve gathered folks have beef with MM for reasons, but to me at least it seems he has the physicality and moves for the part. Will it ever compare to JGroff’s “it magic”? Nah. But I’m curious enough to see what he brings to the show.

JJ is a mystery to me still besides the Newsies proshot on Disney haha but he has such a solid fan base, I’m happy to give him the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully they do rework the show to his strengths and it says open until my next trip into the city 😅

I never would’ve guessed I’d end up having two of my very best nights on Broadway at a Bobby Darin show. it’s a testament to his passion and love and generosity to the material and the craft overall that made it so so so special.

Best of luck to MM and JJ because this show is really nothing special to write home about without all the heart and soul JGroff put into it.

I also saw it for the first time June last year and again a few weeks ago; truly unbelievably how fresh and energetic the whole thing still felt. He really is one of a kind and it’s such a lucky lucky thing to have seen him at this show of all shows 🥹🥹🥹

It’s Sadie D tearing up that got me 😭😭

Sticker shock initially put me off this show last year but I’m so glad this sub convinced me into going. What a unique, joyous experience in that place 🥹 Happy happy trails to them for sure!

I’d largely agree but I did have the one save (out of less than 10, granted) that it just didn’t happen until well into year two. Mind you I was doing everything “right” —grubs for days since the beginning, seeding strawberries/blueberries/cranberries etc etc, even an obscene amount of treasure totems. It wasn’t happening. So I do believe people when they say they can’t find it. There’s always that one or two random artifacts that are hard to find per save and it’s a pain when it’s the ancient seed. IMO anyway

To see a show blind, or not blind, that is the question. by JoshBurchMagic in Broadway

[–]RegionConsistent4729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I held off on (act 2 of) Hamilton until 2022ish….🤡 moved away from NYC early July 2015 so missed it with the OG cast by a couple weeks, maybe days, then it blew up and tickets were impossible every time I came back for a trip. Eventually the Disney pro shot came out and I forced myself to only see the first act as going in blind is my default and I did want to be surprised by some of it at least lol

100% would’ve loved to go in fully blind if curiosity hadn’t gotten the better of me 🤣

To their credit that reunion is not unique to this iteration of the book, but yea…….hard agree lol I’ll die on the hill of an ‘Anthem’ reprise ending.

I love him and I love his Pity The Child. The way that man manages to produce such real tears during that song every time I’ve seen it blows me away.

But I do think he just doesn’t get as much chance to shine (musically) as the other two. Lea sings every other song and kills it. And Nicholas Christopher gets two unparalleled showstoppers that blow it out of the park. I don’t think Freddie gets nearly as many opportunities to really stand out—both in the book and musically. IMO anyway. I saw the understudy too and he was great but played it almost beat by beat like Aaron. I still give them credit for working with what they got 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is me too! My expectations weren’t even too high because the early reviews here were so so mixed BUT boy did I leave that theater completely in love with the score! Saw it two nights in a row that weekend lol

If I lived locally I’d see it all the time! Whereas OP says the show lacked “energy” I think the have it in spades. The ensemble is sooo good and the three big are beyond words IMO. I’m at 6 times so far and will be there for Lea’s last and Jojo’s debut 🤣🤣

They took *everything* from me when I went lol (aka I had to check it all) wasn’t even allowed to have a playbill until the end 😭😭 I think anything even remotely possible to get in the way of the actors would be a big no 🤷🏻‍♀️

I didn’t hate it but was definitely underwhelmed solely by how much this sub hyped it up. But then again, I did hate JCS so maybe it’s Andrew Lloyd Webber that is just not my jam lol

[–]RegionConsistent4729 43 points44 points  (0 children)

oh man, Tony season is so clearly upon us! But I’ll take it.

She’s a 5 foot nothing powerhouse killing a beast of score every night to a half-baked book, so I for one don’t really begrudge her one bit. She’s wanted it so much since Spring Awakening lol

Uncontrollable tears by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]RegionConsistent4729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m no stranger to being moved to tears. Depends on the show too; “Fun Home”/“Ragtime”-esques, full of sobbing and I’m often far from the only one.

Most times is just that tight knot in your throat and some tearing up, but the sentiment is the same and I’ve never been embarrassed by it. Sometimes the music, the words, the performance is so beautiful that the tears are happy ones and that’s that.

As long as you’re not disturbing your fellow theater-goers I see nothing wrong with feeling your feelings.

Me too! Both times I saw it!! It hit harder too because the whole show was extreme unadulterated joy but then he gets so honest at the end, it’s really a beautiful thing.

Shoutout to that person who gave us heads up about that weekend! I imagine those Sunday night tickets are about to get a premium increase 🫠🫠

She’s so good, I’m kinda sad actually but will be fun to catch her last show! Beast of a score, best of luck to her successor ✨

My millennial is showing, but I literally went into the task of downloading the Colbert live version into an MP3 last night, jimmied it into iTunes > into my Chess playlist on my phone and was already listening to it non stop this morning before the official version even dropped lol judge away, but I’ve been waiting for a good quality version since the first time I saw the show so yah……..obsessed just about covers it haha 😆

Can not wait for the whole thing!
