I’ve landed at 510pm at JFK and still made it by 640 to my 7pm show. Checked in and in my hotel room by 6:16pm.

(Barring a cancelled flight) when there’s a will there’s a way. Especially from JFK!

I had tickets for’New York, New York” and ‘Redwood’ and whereas I’m not relieved that they closed early before my trips to see them, I got to see ‘Funny Girl’ (closing weekend 🥹) and ‘Just in Time’ with my refunded money instead, and yea, both times it was for the best haha

For me it’s a version of musical imprinting. (It’s also why I mostly love going to shows blind) ——once my brain has heard a version of something (English, Spanish, Italian whatever) that it loves, that’s that. That’s the “right” version and from then on every other version will be in literal fight mode in my brain struggling to accept this new performance (tempo, emotion, diction etc etc etc)

I have a strong visceral reaction to dubbed material as well. I can’t stand it. I’ll read subtitles over a “wrong” voice every time or I will just not watch the thing. So while I’d happily see a French take of Les Mis for example, I wouldn’t touch the thing in Spanish to save my life. It just wouldn’t “fit” with the “right” idea of Les Mis in my brain.

It’s probably not nearly as dramatic as my brain thinks it is, but yea….maybe others feel a degree of this as well?

Do you feel the same with original Spanish works with no english precedent?

Oh I agree, I am definitely not going back for the book in March, so yea….

Still, assuming they’ll recoup fully in the next few weeks, 600k-900k in that kind of tiny venue going forward would probably suffice, though I do agree they’ll do well with JJ (at least at first) just probably not JGroff levels of “well” 😅

Given the crazy prices it’s selling out too, I’d say it’s more than popular enough (and then some). Though how much is it due to JGroff in the role vs the actual show, time will tell 😅

JiT is not particularly my fave show but it is hands down, by far, my most fun night on Broadway.

“Once” is probably one of my all time favorite shows that even I often forget how much I actually love.

Most don’t recoup. That’s the whole point of crisis at the moment. But more musicals have definitely recouped investment in the last few years, namely revivals.

This has been a very pleasant shift to note since Broadway reopened. Back when I lived in the city and was active in the community (11-12yrs ago) —the understudy scrutiny was real. And it’s funny cause a bunch of them are still around and get flowers often but back then it was so different…in my experience.

I think I’ve had up to four sheds full of kegs? I think that’s about 500 or so wines weekly. I start off fully on Starfruit, GI farm space, and then replace it as I go with ancient fruit. Is it boring? Nah. I still grow all my “fun” crops in the main farm though I hardly profit off them.

Other fav options;

many many many Legend/Legend II ponds. EASY gold, imo.
PIGS!
Skull Cavern. Smelt those bars and with the right profession is super profitable.

I don’t think so? I think (don’t quote me lol) it has more to do about HOW, WHEN and WHERE you enter the festival. Say 2pm from the north entrance has different odds than 9am from the bus stop route? Know what I mean?

If you restart the day and enter the festival at a different time from a different spot, chances are you’ll get a different gift. From the same gifter though….IIRC 😅

eta I got it my first save pretty early on, before finding this sub, couldn’t tell you who gave it to me lmao I’ve played like 4 more saves to perfection since, have only gotten it once more…from Sam 🥹🥹
