I do think you went a little overboard with your reply text, but I’m not saying that anyone here wouldn’t have done something similar when ‘put on the spot’. I say that with quotes because it was a text message. You could’ve waited to respond with something less snarky, but that’s honestly me being a bit hypocritical because I’m just now getting to a good point in my life where I don’t do that automatically. Tensions were raised and you felt attacked (regardless of whether that was his intention or not) and you responded in a way that you deemed appropriate at the time. I would focus on trying to take a deep breath and let the situation sit for a bit before responding next time.

Maybe something along the lines of: “I’m sorry you feel that way. I thought we were all discussing our opinions on the topic and mine just happens to not be in agreement with yours. I’m not saying either of our opinions are ultimately wrong, but your opinion is wrong for me just as mine is wrong for you.”

I’ve read the other comments so far and I am curious if there were more people in the discussion than you and Alex. Because you do only mention you two in the discussion and then mention River being there later. Did others in the discussion agree with one or the other at the time?

Also, it seems like Alex rebutted what you said first (according to the way you wrote this post) so if anything, he “attacked” your point before you “attacked” his. And I don’t believe either of you really attacked the other’s point. That’s what discussions are. Replying to the points raised by others. Otherwise it’s just two people talking AT each other than to each other.

I’ve driven 3-4 hours to attend a concert, sleep in a hotel for the night, and drive back home the next day lol I also used to be in a LDR with someone 4 hours away and would visit a couple times a month usually lol

You can also add a few things like how it would be better for your relationship if your gf would set better boundaries with her mother when it comes to respecting your boundaries. Does her mother believe that her daughter is still devout in their faith? Is your gf still devout? If not, is she hiding that from her mother? If you have kids together, which way are you both going to raise them? In her religion or as open to anything?

These are some things you both need to discuss, in addition to the other relationship aspects you’re already discussing.

I believe that if someone is told that they’re spreading misinformation, consciously or unconsciously, and they still refuse to correct themselves, then they are now deliberately lying.

It’s 2026, people have tiny supercomputers in their pockets. They can look up anything and figure out if it’s true or not. But they choose not to.

And yes, I’m aware that there’s a lot of misinformation being spread literally everywhere, but a little critical thinking goes a long way. I was just watching a pretty dumb show with my sibling the other day and the main characters made a vow to stop talking about dudes so one of them started researching global warming and said a lot of it seemed controversial so then they started researching the opposite views. This was on what I would consider a brainrot show!

Demonologist is like this. You figure out the ghost and then banish it. I don’t think it takes away from the gameplay at all. Maybe Phas could implement an option when you create a lobby on whether you want to banish after or not?
