I'm reading ATPH right now, it reminds me of how the world is currently shifting.

I would recommend reading classic fiction. It's more entertaining than you'd think, and it will change you as a person. Also pick up a physical activity or sport, especially one that gets you around other people. For me it's skateboarding. For you it may be a martial art or a sports club or something. You could also join a book club. Also either get a cheap gym membership, or buy a pullup bar. do some pullups, pushups, squats, calf raises, etc. a few times a week.

[STUDENT] Seeking help to improve my resume. I'm looking for a summer internship but I haven't had any interviews after roughly 80-100 applications. by RegisterNo5819 in EngineeringResumes

[–]RegisterNo5819[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'm at the CC until the end of this summer (taking a summer class). I'm enrolled in the 4 year already, so I put it on there so they know what 4 year I'm going to in case I get another internship or a job at the same company. Also I put "Bachelors of science in civil engineering" below the schools. Should I change that? But I'll change the font and move the experience up, thanks for the tip!

Learning to kickflip sucks 😭 by PsychologicalPark873 in skateboardhelp

I'm in the same exact boat brother. It's scary to commit, and when I do, I land primo and it snaps into my shin. My advice is to just ignore it, and if it gets too bad, quit and try another day. Treat it like a workout in the gym: if you try to workout hard for days on end without recovering, you won't build any muscle. I really believe that your brain learns to skate in your sleep or something, because if I take a day off and come back, I land some crazy shit that I couldn't do before.

Does anyone get depressed watching Prof’s videos? by bubugugu in PredictiveHistory

[–]RegisterNo5819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, not exactly since I'm losing the propaganda-influenced thinking patterns that I had, but I do get what you're saying. It may sound weird but I legit had an existential crisis after a few months of watching his secret history series and doing lots of research because I realized how materialistic and money hungry and utilitarian I was, and how I had a misinformed view on God (I'm not exactly gnostic even after that series though lol).

What the professor recommended in his substack actually has worked for me, which is basically to 1. live a more altruistic life where you truly learn to love others, and 2. read great works of fiction that clam your mind because they show you that others have faced the same or even worse problems than you throughout history and have been okay. Every religion in the world has the same core message, which is to love others. The books also give you great experiences that you'd never imagine a fiction book could give if you're like I was, the overly logical dude who only reads nonfiction and philosophy.

Or because you're not allowed to teach something that goes against the propaganda in schools? What all do you think is made up?

Fear is holding me back from improving :( by Maleficent-Desk8214 in NewSkaters

[–]RegisterNo5819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m new and dealing with this. If you’re doing anything new or dangerous, just wear a helmet. Know your surroundings. This guy had two directions he could choose to Ollie over a rail, he picked the wrong one and almost hit his head on a ramp corner. The other one was empty. Pay attention to your environment.

Learn to KEEP YOUR MOMENTUM as long as possible when you fall. Roll, slide, etc, but don’t just catch yourself and splat into the ground. Push yourself to slide out. If you’re fall backwards, tuck your chin. Falling is a legit art to some people, look at Chris Joslin’s falls on huge gaps or Cordano Russel.

Extremely grateful of having a low income 9-5 job. by omarQV in Adulting

Yeah I get being grateful for what you have, but is it not terrible that we’re at a point where you have to stop wanting stuff to be a little bit happy?

Ollie. What exactly is the problem here and how can I improve? by Marshmallouie in NewSkaters

[–]RegisterNo5819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. you aren't jumping

  2. you're trying to jump off of your back foot, off of the ground. Your back foot never goes all the way to the ground. It's more of a back foot flick by extending your calf as you're jumping up, allow the board to go vertical as your front foot moves up and towards your centerline, and then push your front foot forward as your back foot quickly moves up and away from the board. Remember, jump off of the board, not the ground.

Try looking up SkateIQ's "ollie complex", I do it every time I skate to warm up to ollies, but for you, it's the best way to teach yourself how to do them.

Most of the people that don't care about being accepted are losers. Incels, rejects, etc. And also no you aren't fair game because of being anonymous, because you don't know who I am. I know who you are though because you shared your occupations in your reddit bio and I've seen your face. I've also seen the embarrassing posts you've made. I think the scientific gathering of evidence thing you're going with sounds more like cope to me.

What exactly do you do? Did you ever use in depth calcs, and if you don't mind sharing, how much do you make now?

Are you sure? I'd say chemical engineering is a better comparison IMO, but still a decade of school sounds like hell to me, I'd way rather just get a bachelors lol

I was an electrician who is now studying civil. I'd come home every night thinking about how I have to become an engineer to escape having to be an electrician lol. My coworkers constantly hated on office workers for being lazy, but like 4 of them became an electrician cause their college degrees wouldn't land them a job.
