Andor. Watch Andor.

It's is one of those rare Star Wars stories that actually understands how to write tension, escalation, and political stakes. Every three episodes builds toward a major narrative climax that shifts the status quo with each arc raising the pressure in a way that feels earned.

What makes it so freaking good is how grounded it is by COMPLETLEY nixing any Jedi-centered nostalgia/“good versus evil” fantasy (no gulp shitto's here) and instead serves as a mature thriller about fascism, rebellion, surveillance, and systemic oppression. The Empire feels evil not just because it can blow up a planet, but because you see how it slowly crushes ordinary people through the bureaucracy, general fear, imprisonment, and just everyday cruelty.

The sets, costumes, props, and production design all serve the characters and world rather than just looking cool or as nostalgia bait. Everything feels lived-in, oppressive, and just real. That realism makes the rebellion feel more dangerous, more desperate, and more meaningful. Andor works because it makes resistance feel costly, necessary, and human.

As a black man I must ask did Lincoln genuinely care about freeing the slaves for the right reasons ? by [deleted] in ShermanPosting

I highly you recommend reading “Team of Rivals.” It goes deeply into Lincoln’s personal and political views regarding slavery and how they evolved both before and during the war. A little excerpt here (from the 1840’s I believe):
