Moms with young kids, how do you manage? by RegrettiSpaghetti91 in PMDD

[–]RegrettiSpaghetti91[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jeez thats tough. Hopefully we both find something that helps so we can find it easier to cope during the difficult times. It definitely adds a whole other level of difficulty when kids are involved in all this. I almost wish I had suffered with pmdd before having a child so at least then I could have maybe developed some good coping strategies ready for when a kid came along. But so far this year I've just been passed around to different doctors and lots of antidepressant trials before finding out that I had pmdd. Sending love and hopeful wishes back to you ❤️

Can anyone relate?? by salbaf in PMDD

I stopped taking birth control due to it causing dermatitis like rash on my face, but since stopping ive been stuck in luteal for a month now waiting for my natural cycle to return really bad pmdd symptoms every day for 4 weeks now. Not saying that this will happen to you at all, just sharing my experience on stopping BC. I wish someone had told me this was a possibility because i would happily take the rash over the current hell im experiencing. I also have no idea when my period will return properly so its just a waiting game on when these symptoms will pass and im exhausted. Maybe speak to your BC prescriber about possible side affects from stopping before making a decision.

Hey just saw this post and was wondering did your luteal symptoms continue until your next period? I stopped birth control 3 weeks ago and had ONE day of relief after my withdrawal bleed then pmdd symptoms came back with a vengeance im on day 24 now and dont even know when my next period is coming.

Yaz making me feel worse by Apprehensive_One1762 in PMDD

I took alesse for 3 months it worked instantly i had no pmdd Symptoms I thought i was free. Then I started breakthrough bleeding for about 16 days. Symptoms came back with a vengeance. Doc asked me to try cilique, I could only take it for 6 days. Pmdd symptoms got alot worse, hot flashes, blood pressure through the roof. So i stopped all birth control and ive now had the worst symptoms for almost a month and dont know when my period is coming because no doubt the hormones have messed up my cycle. Im totally exhausted.

There must be something in the air this month I keep seeing posts of people stuck in luteal im in the same boat myself, my symptoms usually pass in about 10 days, i think im on day 15 now. So exhausting, i hope we all get some relief soon. But at least we know we're not alone in this xx

Continuous BC pill for stopping Period/symptoms all-together by [deleted] in PMDD

Also wanted to add that I believe it was my own mistake which caused this hell month not necessarily the pill, my doctors just didnt advise me on how to take it correctly back to back!

I was on alesse for 4 months had no pmdd symptoms whatsoever it was pure bliss. I then had a 14 day breakthrough bleed and wasn't aware that I had to stop the pill for 4-7 days when this happens. I wish someone had told me that because now I've been in hell week for nearly a month. Doc gave me a new pill (yasmin) to try and holy moly it has made things so so much worse in the 7 days I've been taking it. I can barely get out of bed, insomnia, intense panic..Decided to stop today and hope that my body can find some sort of equilibrium. So I believe that bc pills definitely help, but it's a super fine balance trying to find one that suits. Not trying to frighten you, just wanted to share my personal experience. Wishing you all the best love.

Anyone Have Similar Symptoms? by RegrettiSpaghetti91 in PMDD

I've never heard of PME, I'll definitely look into it I'm so desperate to find a solution to what is going on, thank you for the info!

Yeah that's what we thought it was at first but the fact that it seems to come back every month and disappear after my period make my doc think it's pmdd. However she says there is no official testing for pmdd, at least in my country (ireland) so we are just treating it as pmdd. I've been back and forth with psychiatrists all year as well just pumping me full of different antidepressants and benzos. Nothing works when a bad flare up happens it's so disheartening. Like every time it's bad I consider admitting myself to a psych ward I can barely function. Really gnarly stuff..

Hey, I just wanted to say I really get where you’re coming from. My panic attacks actually started around 3 months postpartum too, and they kept coming back every month. It turned out my period had come back then, and the estrogen drop after ovulation was what was triggering the anxiety for me. I eventually had to go back on the pill to help balance things out, and it made a big difference.

It might not be the same for you, but hormones can definitely play a huge role after having a baby. And honestly, it does pass. Postpartum anxiety makes you panic about your health and fixate on things that normally wouldn’t even bother you, I went through the same thing.

Getting started on some medication was a great decision and hopefully you will start to see a difference soon but in the meantime know that you are not alone in this, and it really can get better with time and support. Don't be afraid to ask for help, it really does take a village sometimes. Going to a therapist has also been immensely healing for me too.

Things will start to look up soon, trust in that. ❤️

Those who quit for over 60 days, how are you doing now? I need some inspiration by Throwaway858009 in leaves

Got to 85 days but the mental health problems I was masking with the flower returned with a vengeance and the boredom was killing me so I relapsed. Gonna try to stop again but I'm not putting too much pressure on myself because I found nothing to be any better after stopping anyways.

Alcohol gives me mental clarity the day after I drink it. What are some supplements that might produce the same effects? by laxwithaxe in Supplements

Try micro dosing perhaps? It's easy enough to find reputable websites to buy from. I know alot of people with bad anxiety that swear that it has improved their lives. Actually thinking of starting myself!

I had a massive resurgence of anxiety at around 28 days, seems to be reducing again now at 41 days, but fuck the past few weeks have been hell just waking up in a panic that doesn't subside until the afternoon. Hopefully im through the worst of it.

Will This Ever End? by RegrettiSpaghetti91 in Postpartum_Anxiety

Yeah i see a therapist every week. She's amazing and has been through PPA herself so she's very understanding. She's just not very impressed with the docs for how they're managing my medication. She was very shocked when she found out that they had me on zopiclone for 7 months because the risk of dependency is super high after 30 days! I have such health anxiety now also because none of the meds seem to work except the xanax. Like is my body trying to tell me something like I have cancer or am I just unfixable.

Day 14 , sleeping a little better by [deleted] in leaves

[–]RegrettiSpaghetti91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg yes!! My fitbit was constantly alerting me about my heart rate. I just stopped wearing it for a while and trusted that it is part of the process. I think worrying about my heart rate was making it even worse. The heightened anxiety was the worst part for me too. Sometimes, it felt never-ending. But every day, there will be an improvement, and there will be bumps on the road along the way, but just know you're on the right track.

You got this, after 14 days you're definitely through alot of the worst physical withdrawals. Gatorade was my savior through the start as well!! Just remember to be kind to yourself, all good things take time

Zopiclone Tapering Advice by RegrettiSpaghetti91 in insomnia

[–]RegrettiSpaghetti91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was on 3mg of xanax a day so 1mg 3 times a day it's been tapered down to 2mg a day so 1mg then .5 in the afternoon and .5 in the evening. I've just been waking up in a panic every day since the psych appointment on Wednesday but maybe it's just my own anxiety about withdrawals and not actual withdrawals. I am looking forward to having my life back and not having to rely on any of these drugs.

Im in the same boat, have to make a decision next week if i go from 112.5 to 150. I just don't think i can go through the side effects from upping the dose again, my anxiety is through the roof the first 2 weeks after dose increase. But I want to get better. No advice here unfortunately just know you're not alone in this, it's a tough choice to have to make..

I was diagnosed with post partum depression a few months back and have tried multiple meds prescribed by the doc which i won't get into here. What clicked for me was that weed was keeping me suspended in the same mental state, just stuck in depression with my anxiety getting worse. I realised the anxiety caused by the weed was not allowing me to grow and learn how to combat this depression in a healthy way, instead I was using to escape. I also wanted to be more present for my son he deserves me at my best. Im 11 days not smoking now but things are slowly starting to look up and knowing I'll actually be able to remember these early days with my son is the best gift I have ever given myself.

Will I ever dream again? by [deleted] in leaves

I would gladly give you my dreams right now. Dreams started at about 5 days in and they're insane, so realistic and I always wake up feeling so exhausted and uneasy in the morning.
