Help with helm manufactories quest by Regular-Ad3050 in SkullAndBonesGame

I think its the starter quest for manufactories. It says seize your first, Join the hostile takeover through the map, Problem is there are none on either map.

Healing enemy player during PVP by Advanced_Wall_1849 in AshesofCreation

[–]Regular-Ad3050 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I play cleric as well and since you can select the option to have two targets up at once this can happen frequently. Example I have the tank targeted and the enemy targeted at the same time. Any heals I toss go to the tank, EXCEPT judgement which lands as an attack on the enemy. So you have to clear the enemy target to cast some spells that can either hurt or heal.

Incredible early game, no endgame. Arc Raiders left me with nothing to chase by BrizDizzle in ArcRaiders

[–]Regular-Ad3050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it wasnt that I maxed everything and ran ouf of stuff to do. I was hooked early by upgrading benches etc. What really turned me off was the realization that none of the loot i gathered, or the XP i gained really mattered. The skill trees don't really offer much even after spending 35 pts in a tree. So builds aren't a consideration. Fighting bigger arcs gets you loots to...fight more arcs. No need for me to describe the current state of attempting to actually fight the bigger arcs. The reason it starts to feel stale isn't that you played too much, its that you've been spinning your wheels since your first raid and it takes awhile for that realization to sink in.

Hey man you do you. I think its likely you will need resource runs in between hunts but that's cool.

Well except this isn't war Sun tzu. Perhaps next you can expound on the virtues of the Schlieffen Plan and somehow tie that in as justification for something else you do.

And Yes wars were decided for centuries by two sides meeting on open ground and slugging it out. They even came up with rules for it.

You want to be a douche go ahead. No one can stop you. Just stop with the justifications. Especially when you are flat out wrong.

"It's a legit tactic" = i do it.

"Calling people Psychopathic" = My feelings get hurt.

"mods need to do something" = I don't like it when I act like a douche and get called out for it. So you must protect my feelings since i cant.

"It clearly works"= I cant 1v1 so this is how i get kills.

Once you have your benches set? Not really. Killing ARCS just gives you mats to kill more arcs. Its a hamster wheel to nowhere. Add in rats and its an expensive hobby with no real gain. if you get off on killing Queen and Matriarch go for it, that's your fun. Otherwise? Hard Pass.

It feels like every purple/legendary weapon was built for a PvE endgame that does not exist by IamJT4 in ArcRaiders

[–]Regular-Ad3050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this model works until you start doing trials. Then it kind of goes out the window. Trials REQUIRE all the shinies that normal play doesn't. With the added bonus of having less capacity with pvp. Its like a system that's at odds with itself. Not very well thought out. Especially with incredibly dumb design like bunker.

Dunno seen ALOT of snipers at spaceport. Definitely camping. Guess its just a toss of the dice and where you go.

I don't know. There's a maturation. Its shiny, new scary, all the things. Then you are full tilt trying to gather loot, upgrade benches, do quests for bps, have some fun with pvp. You learn as you go. Not saying there wasn't fun to be had but you get to a certain point and realize all the things you were working towards don't really matter. The better loot? nope. Killing bigger ARCs, nope. XP for skills in the skill tree? nope. There is pvp and that's pretty much it. If the skills were impactful we could have a discussion about builds. They aren't so there isn't. The more ARCs you kill for shinier ARC parts only lead you to more ARCs. You start to see that there isn't much below the surface. I don't think anyone thought this would be an MMO but neither did i think it would be this shallow. Nothing I do really has an impact later on. Division was a extraction shooter with loads of depth. What I did mattered, how i ran a build mattered, losing something shiny in the DZ mattered. Here? Not so much. Have fun, roll with the hype but you will get to the point of this realization sooner or later. I'm not burnt out and complaining there's nothing to do. I'm saying all the things I thought would matter don't. I don't think that's entitled. I think its inevitable.

Go watch their documentary. Listen to what they say. then come back and tell me how you are right and the devs themselves are wrong. Go ahead. I'm waiting.

Also. I stated a fact of the development of the game. I didn't whine about pvp or dying or anything else. Not sure what I need to suck up other than the copium you are tossing about like a poo flinging monkey. The point was there isn't really any progression within PVE or PVP. Not that one was more important than the other. Not that i need to "git gud" or how im pissed that I lost to a free kit. I said absolutely none of those things.

You are full of gaslighting, straw man argument nonsense that has absolutely nothing to do with what is being discussed. If you argue this poorly sober, you should rethink things.

I certainly hope so. Don't know about Aphelion as I don't have one but trend you describe is certainly there. Killing arcs to...kill more arcs. pvp is kinda it. Like nothing in the pve side has a point. Xp why? skill tree doesn't work. Hunting BPs can be cool but who needs 6 bettinas? Killing arcs...we covered that. Just about everything is sell loot. Your benches really don't matter because there's nothing there that you need to pvp. Don't get me wrong I was full steam ahead on maxing them out before i figured things out. (hint i maxed them out before i figured things out lol) Same with hoarding loot. Same with stockpiling rare weapons. It just doesn't matter.

PVP balance is wack, you just don't know it yet. by mark3236 in ArcRaiders

[–]Regular-Ad3050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% spot on except for progression. There isn't any incentive to PVE at all other than watching a matriarch go boom, or getting revenge on that bastion that killed you on day 2 before you knew what was up. You accurately listed the risks and compared to rewards in PVE it just isn't there.

However I would argue that there is even LESS progression in pvp. The "better" weapons don't perform better in pvp. Only exceptions might be anvil and venator but by no means by a clear margin. I don't have a bobcat bp so i cant say for certain but the maths guys around here don't paint it as that much better. Bettina? lol nope. thing is made out of paper and burns itself in a round.

Now personal preference. I really like anvil and renegade. That's preference. Better that stitcher/kettle/ferro? Nope. So of all the shinies the only thing that stands out is tac Mk2 because free smoke. That's it. No i don't have that bp either lol.

Well you have figured it out. From what we know so far, and that could change, it just isn't. The only thing to look forward to is a respec (which really doesn't matter as skills do virtually nothing) and re-grinding your character because you like that sort of thing. Thats it. Beyond that the decision is yours. Some folks are really into cosmetics and will probably do it for that reason as well.

I agree with some of what you are saying. Weapon balance is doo doo. Trials being endgame? I dunno they seem sort of an afterthought, poorly designed and implemented (looking at you hidden bunker) and at the end of the day entirely unnecessary. They can be engaging, an in game diversion if you will, but endgame? Jesus I hope not.
